Chapter 28 - Chapter 26 The End

As Silver opened his eyes he mumbled "Where am I?" After a few moments of glancing around, he saw Amber in a bed beside him in a white room. Silver stared at her and said, "This isn't the hotel." After a few moments, a nurse walked in and said "Good your finally awake." Silver glanced at her and asked, "What going on?" The nurse flipped a few pages on a clipboard and said "Just a moment I'll explain." The nurse glanced at him and said "We found you two unconscious on the floor of a building with debris on and around you."

The nurse glanced at Amber and said "Her condition is bad right now but you've seen to have made a full recovery already." The nurse flipped another page and handed Silver a yellow paper while saying "That reminds me, theirs been some girl trying to get in to visit you, should I let her in?" Silver nodded and said, "Sure, it's probably Wendy." As the nurse left Silver flinched and said "These memories?" As he glanced beside him he saw Thomas sitting there.

Thomas smiled and said, "Sup, you've been asleep for only a day, are you sure you're feeling fine?" Silver smiled and said, "Of course I'm fine." Silver glanced at Amber and said, "Although I wish she was doing better." Thomas snapped and froze time for everyone except him and Silver as he said "I'm gonna explain something really quick." Thomas walked towards Amber and said, "The author wanted to do a sad ending... and in order for that to happen she has to die." Thomas glanced at Silver and said, "She might die within the next hour."

Silver stared at him and asked, "Are you serious?" Thomas nodded and said, "Yes, she'll die, the nurse already knows this, she didn't wanna be the one to tell you and would likely have had Wendy tell you." Thomas stared at him and said, "I'm not a fan of bad endings, in fact when you were on the roof I lent you an ability to avoid her death." Silver paused for a moment and said "Then when I saw her getting shot." Thomas nodded and said, "Yes, that would've actually happened if you hadn't done anything."

Thomas turned back to Amber and said "Enough about that, now answer me a simple question, what would you be willing to do in order to keep her alive?" Silver stared at him and shouted "I'd... I'd do anything for her!" Thomas stared at him and said, "Saying that is easy, but would you really be willing to do anything?" Silver stared at him intently and said "Just tell me what I have to do, I'll do it to the best of my ability." Thomas smirked and said, "Now that's what I like to hear, no pause for an answer, someone who would actually do anything." Thomas held his hand on top of Amber's head and said "I won't be wiping anyone's memories this time."

Thomas smiled and said, "She'll wake up in a few minutes, don't worry about doing anything for her, just make sure to be there for her in the future." Silver stared at Amber and asked, "Will she really be okay now?" Thomas nodded and said, "I'll resume time in a few, make sure to enjoy and cherish every minute you have with her." Thomas yawned and said, "Don't make the same mistakes as me, love life without any regrets." Silver smiled and said, "Don't worry, I will, and I plan to retire to take her away from this dangerous life."

Thomas glanced behind him with a smile and said "The story ends here, your life will continue down a normal path from here on out, no more creatures and no more danger." As Thomas vanished Silver smiled and said "He's a strange guy but I'll miss him." As Amber sat up and said "S-Silver" he flinched and said, "A-Amber, your... okay." Amber nodded and said "I-I'm fine, did I worry you... I'm sorry." Silver smiled and said, "It's fine, your okay aren't you." Amber nodded and said "Yeah, but I had a strange dream about a man with an orange and blue eye."

Silver smiled and said, "You can tell me all about it when we're out of here, okay?" Amber nodded and said "O-okay." As Wendy bursted into the room panting she shouted "Silver... Amber is gonna die!" Amber stared at Wendy nervously and said with a trembling voice "I-I'm gonna... die?" Silver stared at Wendy and said, "Don't worry about it, she'll be fine, a friend helped us out." Wendy stared at Silver and then glanced at Amber as she said "But the doctors said that there was nothing they could do to save her, how could a friend of yours save her?"

Silver glanced at Amber with a smile and said "Who knows, so long as she's alive and safe I don't really care." Silver stared at Amber and said, "That's right, I forgot to tell you that I'm retiring." Silver held his phone up to her and said, "Check it, that guy really did send us the money and the news covered a story about Tomica Corp, apparently, their entire company vanished, the entire building was gone, there wasn't even any rubble left." As a nurse walked back in and seen Amber she asked "How is she awake right now?" Amber glanced at the nurse and said "T-thank you for helping us."

The nurse walked over to Silver and asked "How is she moving, you heard the news right?" Silver smiled and said, "Must be a miracle." The nurse walked over to Amber and said, "You seem to be in perfect condition, would you mind if I ran a few tests with the doctors, it shouldn't be too long but it's better safe than sorry right?" The nurse glanced at Silver and asked "Would it be alright if I had the doctors run a few tests?" Silver sat there silently for a bit and asked "Wait do you mean me?"

The nurse nodded and said, "Well yes, you are here father figure, after all, it would only make sense if I had your permission to do it." Silver nodded and said, "O-of course, go ahead and run the tests." As Amber stood up and walked out of the room with the Amber Silver smiled and said "My first goal should be to get the proper papers for her, that way I'll be able to proudly call her my daughter." Silver's face went red as he mumbled "Man that's so weird sounding."

Wendy smiled and said, "It probably feels just as weird for her to call you dad, especially since she usually calls you Silver." Silver stared at her and said, "Pushing for change may not be such a good thing, after all, I think I'll just stick to her calling me Silver." Wendy laughed and said, "I figured you wouldn't wanna be called dad." Silver nodded and said, "Yeah, plus my hair is already white so it would make me feel really old." After half an hour the nurse came back with Amber and said "She appears to be in perfect health, you two should be able to leave within the next few hours."

Silver smiled and said "Even better news." As the nurse left Silver said, "So why don't don't you tell us about that dream you had." Amber stared at them and said, "There was a man with a tail, and one of his eyes was orange, and the other was blue." Wendy stood there in shock and said "I know what you're talking about, I just remembered someone like that on my way here." Silver smiled and said, "Guess we'll never know for sure." Wendy stared at him and asked, "Do you not remember him?" Silver smiled and said, "Well I might know a little."

As Thomas waited outside of the door with a trench coat he glanced at the reader with a smile and said "I think it's about time we let them be." Thomas smiled with a smug look and said "Besides I've already completed my job here, I even did a little extra and made that entire company disappear." Thomas stared at the reader and said "I guess we'll be going onto the next story now." As Thomas walked down the hall he said "You may be asking yourself, why am I in a trench coat when I can hide myself, but to that, I answer, would it be as dramatic if I didn't."

As Thomas swiped his hand he appeared in a grassy land without the trench coat and said "Let's take a look around here." As Thomas got a phone call he flinched and said "Oh shit, the author must've found out that I changed the ending." Thomas pulled his phone out of his pocket and stared at the caller ID nervously as he said "He's definitely gonna be pissed off." Thomas slipped the phone back into his pocket and said "I'll answer that later."
