Prologue

Gods, angels, demons- these mystical creatures have had many names over the years. Nowadays, they are called benefactors. Benefactors lend their spirit to mortals so they can cultivate and help bring humanity forward.

But even benefactors who are powerful beings, fear something. They fear the mortals who are incompatible with all benefactors due to their unique constitutions. The world took pity on these people for they were not able to cultivate. They had no spirit to help circulate the Qi through their meridians. Instead, they were blessed with good luck and gifted destructive power. A single simple punch was enough to flatten out a large kingdom. They were called, "spiritless."

Millenniums ago, the spiritless were abundant. They were trained to protect cities in secret. They learned how to use spiritual weapons and hand to hand combat because they couldn't use their own spirit since they lacked it. But they rebelled and destroyed nearly the entire mortal realm, as well as destroying a part of the heavenly realm. They were subdued and killed by the last kingdom standing, the Zira Empire. Since then, the mortals that had lived made an oath to kill all the spiritless before another disaster could happen.

For 700,000 years, the mortal realm had peace from the spiritless. They were able to rebuild the mortal realm, recreate everything that the spiritless had destroyed. New benefactors also brought their attention to this world, and more benefactors lent their spirit to the mortals.

Factions, sects, and families sprung up around the realm. Benefactors gave mass blessings to these factions and gave their spirit to everyone born into those powers.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere was a little village called the Jinhou village. People who had run away or were abandoned lived in this village. In this village were two little boys named Zhou Liuxian and Ye Zhong.

Ye Zhong was the son of noble parents. His parents ran with him to the Jinhou village to hide their son away from the cruel person who had hurt him back in his family.

Zhou Liuxian was a spiritless. His parents had run away from their home in hopes of keeping him alive. They could not bear to see their child being executed for something he couldn't control.

In a split second, anything and everything can change. The Jinhou village was killed, destroyed, plundered. Only Zhou Liuxian and Ye Zhong had survived thanks to the sacrifice of their parents. They pledged to avenge their family and village from the cruel fate they were given.

A spiritless child with the power of destruction on his side and a genius child with limitless potential. The world would have to bow before them and tremble in fear as they decide the fate of the world that had torn everything from them.
