Chapter 28 - POS: The Portal

Jelco jacked up his posture to rearrange his waistcoat to a more comfortable position.

He then cleared his throat, the grunting sound ricocheted off the walls of the Temple causing a deep echo to travel into the rafters.

He sat alone in the dimly lit hallway, his feet patterned upon the dark marble floor causing more unwitnessed comotion.

"I don't have time for this. Where is she." He mumbled beneath his breath.

"I am the High King's right hand man, I am the highest ranking officer in Oceanlandia. Who is she to keep me waiting like this." He thought to himself in his ever increasing anger.

Eventually the door opened, standing in front of him was the beautiful high priestess, Laly Erteger.

Her light purple eyes matched her dress, her long curly dirty blonde hair ran down the back of her head and all the way to the midsection of her back. Even though she wore extremely high wedges she still managed to walk gracefully.

Jelco was stunned by her beauty, he was left speechless for moments. Just awkwardly staring at her.

"Admiral. Admiral." She said

"Ah, yes." Jelco replied

Jelco rose up and bowed to her.

"Priestess, I was summoned here by King Opus. He wanted me to see something." Jelco informed her

Laly smiled and said

"I got the message to come along."

They both walked through the forty foot high double door. Once inside Jelco was met with a buffet for his eyes. A long hallway flanked on each side with flawless marble statues of the Gods on each side.

Jelco followed Laly down the hallway looking at each of the statues as he walked by.

The first statue he saw was an odd a nude woman with a spear and shield, she had her hair in a pony-tail. Beneath the statue read

"Sofier, Goddess of Beauty, Attraction, Sex, and Justice."

The next statue was of a muscular man with a longbeard. He held a warhammer in one hand and a sword in another.

"Wodor, God of war, Masculinity, Family, and Fatherhood." The plack read

The next statue was of a bald old man sitting in the meditation position.

"Nomon. The Highest God, God of Peace, Prosperity, Knowledge, and Piety."

The next was a nude woman with long hair holding an apple and she had a snake wrapped around her leg.

"Easos, Goddess of nature, hunting, ocean, rain, and harvest."

As they continued they came upon the statues of the lower Gods and the darker beings.

The next statue was of a woman with long straight hair, in a long dress and wedge heels. The statue possessed a creepy smile and look.

"Sekivo, Queen of Demons, Goddess of Strife and the Patron Saint of Piracy"

Beside that one was of a similar looking woman holding a crystal ball up.

"Goddess of Magic and Fortune Telling"

The next one was of a half naked woman with her breast fully displayed in a thin cloth like outfit. She had long curly black hair and a devious look on her face.

"Succubi, Goddess of Seduction, Kinks, Fetishes, and Queen of the twin islands."

The other one was of a tall man in spiky knight armor.

"Xilloviv, God of Genocide, Massacres, Murder, Cannibalism, Blasphemy and Rape."

Another one was of a phantom without legs or a face.

"Neddibrof, the immortal phantom."

The last one was of a pirate lady in a sorceress robe.

"Jezebel, crazed daughter of Jezebel."

They then made it to the door at the end of the hallway.

"Have you ever been here before?" Laly asked him.

"Yeah, my good friend Gerald was once the high priest. I've been in this hallway before." He answered

"But have you ever been in this room?"

"No."

As they walked through the door the energy in the room changed.

In the center of the floor was a pool filled with a weird type of water. It was of a blue complexion he had never seen before. A tiny staircase went into the water but seemed to just vanish into it. Even though it was crystal clear the staircase seemed to stop.

"Wait right here." She said

She then walked into the shallow pool but seemingly vanished into it.

"In all my years, I've never seen a type of sorcery so mysterious. So mind boggling, what am I witnessing." He thought to himself

They then re-emerged from the pool of water dry as a bone. She smiled as she handed him something futuristic to his primitive mind.

It was a late 18th century type revolver, with dragons engraved upon it.

"What is this contraption? A single barreled pistol that can shoot multiple times." Jelco asked

"The Gods aren't just rulers of our universe but of many other parallel dimensions with vastly different technologies." Laly answered

"Incredible, are there more of these portals?"

"Indeed, there's locations beneath every temple."

"Every temple?"

"Or Course."

"Even the one in Derzy?"

Laly began sweating and hyperventilating

"Well hopefully the scoundrels don't find out."
