Most nights on the ocean are rough, but this night was unusually calm, aboard the SS Navis the wealthiest of Oceanlandia's citizens dances and mingled to the tunes of classical music.
The ship was a former Man O War, now renovated into a luxury Oceanliner, the portholes where the cannon would point out were now windows to candle lit rooms, illuminating the night. However on this night not all would be bliss,
Just out of sight of the SS Navis, A small pirate ship was stalking it using the jet black cover of night to hide it's movements.
The Pirate ship was painted a dark red, and had the name Red Blur engraved upon it. The name signified the ship's speed, meaning at top speed the ship looked as if it was just a red blur.
On this night the Red Blur was without three of its most valuable crewmembers, Captain Atlas Sada, his wife Karma Muso and Montague Veraz, who both share the role of quartermaster.
In the ballroom of the Navis, Atlas and Karma danced together amongst the aristocracy.
Atlas a light brown skin young man, with dark black hair in a hair bun with no facial hair, he wore a ceremonial army officer's uniform.
Karma a light brown skin young woman, with long curly black hair, with black glasses on her face, and a silver dress.
"So what's the plan again?" Atlas asked
"We just dance here until Montague and Falla give us the signal." Karma answered
"And who is Falla?"
"She's a baroness I knew from my youth. Her and my sister were good friends before the coup."
"What are we stealing again?"
"She didn't say, she just said there was a chest aboard filled with something more valuable than gold."
"I just hope we aren't here for too much longer. Lest the other occupants get suspicious."
Meanwhile on the other side of the ship Montague walked the halls dressed as a regular soldier, the hallways were filled with drunken aristocrats trying but failing to find their rooms and soldiers fully armed walking around.
Montague eventually reached the Captain's room, where he knocked the door with a doorknob made of solid gold.
The knob slowly turned then the door swung open, with such fury that it startled Montague. Standing in the doorway was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Falla was a mid sized white woman, with flawless skin and long beautiful blonde hair.
"Come in quick,'' she said." She whispered frantically
As Montague stepped in he noticed a difference in the room, the well lit hallways were no more and instead he was in a dimly lit room with a messy.
Upon further inspection, Montague noticed the corpse of the ship's Captain wrapped up in the sheets.
"So what happened here?" He questioned
"The captain was my husband in an arranged marriage, He shared everything with me, everything." She said as she walked over to the closet.
She opened the closet to reveal a small, rectangular chest. She reached down and grabbed the chest, picking it up, the sound of change shaking could be heard.
She sets the chest down on the bed.
"In the chest is the rarest most valuable material in the world. More than Gold, more than silver, let alone bronze. We'll be rich." Falla said
"What's in it?" Montague asked
"I'll tell you when we're no longer in danger. This ship is teeming with the High Kings thugs."
"Well I'm ready when you are."
"Let's go."
Right as they were about the walk out of the door, they heard a booming knock on the door.
"Captain? Captain?" The man on the other side repeated.
"Oh no, we'll be found out for sure." Falla cried
"Calm down, I'll handle this my way." Montague said as he pulled out his pistol and fired right through the door.
"Ah!" The man on the other side shouted briefly before the sound of his body could be heard hitting the ground.
Montague then kicked down the door and upon removing it he could see the complete anarchy that the hallway had devolved into.
The screams of the drunken aristocrats were deafening, and the ship's floor shook from the amount of panicked people rushing in each and every direction trying to escape with their lives.
Soldiers who attempted to get to the source of the gunfire were trampled by the horde.
Montague and Falla took this as a chance to escape. They ran towards the ballroom to rendezvous with Atlas and Karma, and out of pure coincidence they ran into them in the hall.
"What in the underworld was that? You weren't supposed to shoot anybody." Karma scolded Montague
"I had to, it was the only way out." Montague retorted, Atlas then interjected
"Guys it doesn't matter, we got what we came for, and now we can leave."
Then suddenly the loud sound of a gunshot could be heard, Falla's neck then exploded, tiny bone fragments and hot gooey red blood went flying everywhere. The chest fell from Falla's arms and hit the ground right before her body did.
Atlas turned around to see a group of soldiers all aiming muskets at them.
"Stop the thieves!" One shouted.
Atlas pulled out his pistol and fired, his aim was flawless, hitting the soldier dead through the right eye, where he would have aimed down his sights.
The soldier fell dead as Falla did just seconds before. The other soldiers then aimed down their sights ready to deliver a killing blow to Atlas and his crew.
Karma held her hand out and shot lightning from it, the lightning bolt hit one of the soldiers and traveled to the others incapacitating them completely.
Montague picked up the chest, and they all ran towards the lifeboats,
Karma and Montague both jumped into the boat while Atlas lowered it into the water below. Once the ship was lowered Atlas jumped and landed square on the lifeboat.
As the Navis sailed further and further away the Red Blur picked them up.
They climbed aboard the ship and went to the center of the ship to open the chest.
Montague picked the lock and opened the chest to reveal a lot of coins all platinum.
"What is this?" Montague asked
"It's platinum!" One of the older crew members shouted with glee
"I've only ever seen platinum twice before in my life." He went on to say.
"Wonder where they could've gotten this?" Atlas pondered to himself
"I doubt it was in the form of coins when they found it. There's a mine somewhere." Karma said
"And we're going to find it." Montague added.
