" Good. They're making quick work of them " Iegor Uttered. As he defended himself against the Goblins that had crossed the stench.
" FOCUS IEGOR. DON'T FORGET THEIR TRUE FORCE STANDS BEFORE US ", Fyeon snap, As he aided Iegor in his assault. " And what of our lady? How do you propose we get to the general? She's deep within their ranks ".
Iegor saw Pyanna was easily defending herself. Expertly switching from bow to blade in an instant as Goblin after goblin attacks her on the cliffs. The Black Valkariy was truly living up to her name. Iegor then turned his sights to Vordac and his army. They were beginning to cross the trench in full force.
" I don't know Fyeon " Iegor replied, Feeling the weight of the situation building " But we got to do something and quick or I will never be able to face Eric and Peirrim ".
Luckily for Iegor, Draco came with the solution. He descending to the ground to rejoin Iegor and Fyeon but not before unleashing his flames upon the Goblins and engulf the trench in a wall of flames, preventing any more from crossing. Their pitiful cries; much like the sound of scared piglets, could be heard from afar.
" I didn't think you were as bold as Fyeon, Iegor. Don't tell me you were planning on fighting them all on your own " Draco uttered.
" Seems you hardly know Draco " Iegor replied sarcastically "Am as bold as they come my friend ".
" ( Chuckle). Yes, of course, I sometimes forget " Draco replied.
" If you two are done, Could we get back to the matter at hand " Fyeon snap " Those Flames won't hold them for long ".
" My apologies. Draco would mind retrieving Lady Pyanna " Iegor replied, " We'll retreat back for now".
" !! RETREAT. YOU THINK ME A COWARD. I RUN FROM NO ONE. MAN OR BEAST !! " Fyeon Snarled.
"I am not keen on the idea as well Fyeon, but they outnumber us a hundred to one. This valley is their domain. If we are to survive this. Then we must equal the playing field ". Iegor replied with the voice of reason.
Fyeon stared at the engulf trench. Through the flames, he could see Vordac and this army eager to get through.
" Hmmm. Very well Iegor we do it your way " Fyeon replied, " But Vordac is mine. I will taste his blood before this day is done. However, foul it maybe ".
" Of course my friend " Iegor replied, " Draco if you will ".
Draco wasted no time and took to the air towards the cliffs. Once he was there he hovered above and rained fire down upon all the Goblins on the cliff. Pyanna needed no words to know why Draco was there and made a dash to the edge. Two Goblins braved the fire and began to give chase behind her. Giving no hesitation she jumps off the cliff with the Goblins following stupidly behind. Ceasing the moment she drew her bow and shot two arrows at once. Killing the two Goblins before Draco caught her with his claws in midair.
" Seems are in need of a lift my lady ", Draco uttered.
" Indeed I am Lord Dragon ", Pyanna replied.
Draco flew across the Savannah to the company as Iegor and Fyeon followed below. Racing across the field they saw the company had taken care of all the Brutes, but it was not an easy feat. Some of the troops lay dead among the Brutes. It was a price Iegor didn't want to pay, but it was unavoidable.
" Eric! How many did we lose? " Iegor uttered, Hoping to get an appealing answer.
" Too many Iegor, Too many ", Eric replied, Unable to look Iegor in the eyes.
" I see " Iegor replied, Feeling the grief in Eric's words " And what of the wounded ".
" Safe, we held them to the rear " Eric replied.
" Then let's get them home. Let's get them all home " Iegor replied, Trying to keep his mind focus " We need to hurry. There's not much time. Peirrim the way is blocked, would you mind opening up a path for us ".
Peirrim walks over to the blocked pathway and began punching the rock. With each strike, the rock began to crack. The ground rattle from the force of his blows. As powerful as he was Peirrim was couldn't shatter the rock fast enough. He still was not yet at full strength. It would be several hours' before the sun would be high in the sky. This fact made his task a difficult one. Even more so given the fact that the rock was very dense.
As Peirrim kept on working. Fyeon and Pyanna kept their eyes upon Vordac and his underlings. They could see they were out of time.
" IEGOR! He's on the move ". Fyeon yelled drawing Iegor's attention.
Far beyond the Savannah. The sound of a horn came whaling across. Everything fell silent. Even Peirrim stop to see the cause of the horn. Suddenly they heard another sound. A screeching sound loud and fierce. They kept their eyes in the direction of Vordac. Through the flames, they could see a large shadow rising from the trench. Once again they heard the sound but this time more harmful to ears, forcing everyone to cover them. Upon hearing the sound Draco's flames instantly vanished. Revealing the source of the sound. A large bat the size of a Dragon with red eyes hovered over Vordac and the other Goblins.
" It can't be! " Draco uttered, Shock at what he was seeing " It's a Lyvar ".
" A Lyvar! Do you know what that thing is Draco? " Iegor replied.
" Indeed I do " Draco replied, with his voice sounding low and heavy and full of rage "They are mortal enemies of my kin ".
" I thought you and your kind eradicated them eons ago ". Fyeon replied.
" Grrrr, We did " Draco growled.
" Well, it seems you miss one " Fyeon replied sarcastically. " Seems we both failed to vanquish our old enemies, shall we right this wrong "
" Indeed we shall " Draco Growled. " Iegor! Leave the Lyvar and Vordac to us. you focus on the rest ".
" Agreed " Iegor quickly replied, " Peirrim keep working. Everyone else formations. We'll buy Peirrim as much time as we can ".
Vordac wasted no time, with a quick wave of his hand, he ordered the first wave to attack. The Lyvar led the charge high above. Iegor and his troops held their position. Forming their ranks perfectly into a shield wall to await the Goblins charging in. Fyeon and his pack stood to the front of the company eager to taste goblin blood. Fyeon release a might roar and instantly he began to grow. Till he became twice his original size.
By his command. Iegor's archers and mages began firing at the Goblins to thin their numbers. The Goblins fearing nothing charged in boldly. Not caring who was struck. In a close enough range. Fyeon and his pack rush out to meet them. Mauling all they came into contact with
Draco was just as eager. He and his fellow Dragons Syna and Braaf flew out to meet the Lyvar. release his flames straight at the Lyvar. It countered with a screech powerful enough to push back Drako's Flames. Draco kept the Lyvar distracted so Syna and Braaf could fly above and grab it by the wings to carry it high into the clouds. Draco followed them as well and was gone from sight. Waiting for the last moment. Iegor kicks his horse into motion and charges straight at them with his sword drawn pointed at his own prey.
