A chaotic scene was unfolded, as both sides clash. One seeking death. The other life. The lesser Goblins we're wild and unpredictable but wasn't much of a threat. The riders and flyers, on the other hand, we're more difficult. They were stupid, uncoordinated and fierce. Still, their statics were not to be taken likely, but the troublesome of them all was the Brutes. Despite a horde of them were wiped out. More of them appeared to unleash their fury on the company.
The battle was loud and bloody, lasted last only thirty minutes. The Goblins held numbers and strength, but they were absent wisdom and skill which The Flaming Claw Company had. Giving them the victory. A loud uproar rained out. Iegor raised his hand to quickly silent them. This was no time to celebrate. The battle was not yet over.
Exhausted from the battle. Iegor kept his composer; such is the metal of a commander. He kept his sights fix upon Vordac awaiting his next move.
" What do we do Iegor ? " Eric replied, breathing heavily " The troops are exhausted. We don't have the strength to face those numbers ".
" This was his plan " Fyeon Uttered " Everything he has done so far was just to fatten us before the kill. Now... we're good and ready ".
Their numbers were dwindling. Fatigue held them tight within its clutches. Never given a moment to rest. Not many would have the strength to face what was about to happen.
Iegor held himself in check to keep up his troop's morale, but he too was feeling the effects. Nevertheless, he kept his focus looking across the field to see what Vordac's next move. He didn't have to wait long. Vordac himself began matching upon the company. The rest of the Goblins quickly followed their master's lead. The ground tremble by the force of their numbers. Iegor looks upon his troops and saw the fear within their eyes. All their hope was lost, but as it stood there was only one option. He took a brief moment releasing the air within his lungs and to uttered one word.
" Formations ".
Fear or not. They followed his command. Readying their themselves for the next fight.
Iegor steadies his horse and kept his eyes focus ahead with his sword ready in hand. Eric, Pyanna and Fyeon joined alongside him readying themselves as well. Vordac was in no hurry. He kept his slow pace. His prey was trap with nowhere to run. The taste for blood was heavy on his mind.
" So this is it. The end " Eric uttered, " I didn't think it would end this way ".
"There are worse ways to die coward " Fyeon replied, " At least with this, you'll meet a warrior's end ".
" A Warrior's end? " Eric chuckled sarcastically " A Warrior's end. You think I care about that? I'll be dam If I'll allow myself to die now. Especially not by some filthy Goblin. I refuse to die before I see my little girl again, YOU HEAR ME CAT!. I will not die, not today ".
" Hahaaaa. Well said " Fyeon replied.
" I agree with my husband " Pyanna replied, " My eyes have seen many things, and seeing my daughter's face again will be one of them.
" Well, then allow me to help you keep those oaths ". Fyeon replied, seeming more eager to fight " What of you Iegor? Will, you die before seeing your own family? ".
Iegor was about to give is reply when suddenly he was blinded by a light reflecting off his sword
It was the sun. It had reached high in the sky. He knew instantly what that meant.
" I would not be dying this day my friend, Nor will anyone else " Iegor replied as he set his sights in the opposite direction.
Fyeon and the others turned their sights to see what drew his attention, and when they did. They were able to see how true his words were. Whatever hope that had been lost was restored ten times over. There standing like a beacon of hope. Radiating from the light of the sun was The Berzerk King in all his glory. Peirrim looks upon the hopeless faces of his company. Their looks of fear-fueled the rage that was steadily growing within himself. He knew what it was that gave them such fear.
Vordac and his army were marching upon them. There wasn't much time for him to clear the path before the Goblins would be on them and even if he was able to. The Goblins would still give chase. That thought alone infuriated him the most. Only one option was clear to him. He would have to kill them. He would have to kill them all.
Giving a slight nod to Iegor. Peirrim Tor off his chest plate and gauntlets, Tossing them aside. He then turned back to the massive rock. Using all his might he grabbed hold of the massive rock, Piercing his bare hand through the solid rock. Releasing a loud grunt he began lifting it.
Within every inch, he lifted that monstrous rock the tension in his voice could be heard as it grew louder and louder becoming more beast-like than a man. With one final grunt, he hoisted that massive rock high above his head. Peirim now stood before them barring the weight of the massive rock with ease. It was a sight none could believe. A feet only the Berzerk King could accomplish.
" By the Gods! " Eric uttered shock at Peirrim's might.
" In my many years, I have never laid eyes upon your Gods. " Fyeon uttered while keeping his sights upon Peirrim " But if they are real?... I would say there's one right there ".
" Indeed, but this is no time to be standing around. We have to move" Iegor replied, As he turned his horse towards his troops " SOLDIERS THERE IS HOPE AND ITS ONE OF YOUR OWN WHO HAS GIVEN IT TO YOU, WILL YOU CLAIM IT ".
There was no time to waste. They need not be told twice and quickly mounted their horses and race straight towards Peirrim and freedom. Vordac saw what was happening and became infuriated. He and his shamans began blasting their magic wildly at the company as they chase behind them. Peirrim saw their assault and began moving forward at a slow pace with the massive rock and made his way past the company. He then took a knee and began using it as a shield to protect his company.
Vordac and his minions continued to race towards them fire their spells aggressively ahead, but all of it struck the rock. Irradiated by this. Vordac focuses all his attacks on the rock in an attempt to destroy it, but it was too dense to be destroyed so easily.
Iegor, Fyeon, Eric, and Pyanna we're the last to follow. They made sure not a single soul was left behind. As Iegor rode pass Peirrim. He gave him a nod, letting him know it was time. Peirrim stood up and lifted the monstrous rock once more keeping his enemy within his sights. He saw the horde of them like an ocean spread out before him, his foe held no mercy, no honor only the trill, and the intent to spill blood his comrade's blood. This he could not and would not allow. He then began moving straight ahead towards Vordac and his army knowing fully well what had to be done.
" What's Peirrim doing? " Eric uttered confused about Peirrim's actions.
" He's ending it " Pyanna replied calmly. As she looks on at her Lil brother's resolve.
Peirrim kept on matching never stopping for an instant not even when the attacks began hitting his body he kept moving. It was like the wind trying to topple a mountain, within moments Peirrim finally reaches his destination. Vordac and his minions were stopped in their tracks a few feet away from Peirrim. The immense size of the rock engulfing them all in shadow as Perrim stood in silence. It was an offer of mercy, turn back now, or die. They didn't know who it was standing before. How could they? They never have seen a being such as him before. They have not seen The Berserk King in all his glory.
There he stood like a God eyes flaring and body radiating with his power, with judgment at hand there was none to repent, he unleashes his fury upon them all.
Releasing a loud grunt, He tosses that monstrous rock at them. Quickly becoming aware Vordac and his minions frantically tried to escape. Running back the way they came before they could be crushed, but it was too late for that.
A loud crash reigned out as the massive rock collided with the ground. A huge dust cloud covered the Savannah, making breathing and visibility nearly impossible. A moment of silence fell upon the valley as all awaited the outcome to be known. The dust became thin giving all sight once again, and what they saw after was more than welcoming to the eyes. There in the dust, the Victor stood. A titan among men. Their champion. The bringer of hope, Peirrim. Vordac and his army were nowhere to be seen, they were crushed beneath the massive rock. A few stragglers remained but fled like cowards when they saw what had happened to their master.
" He did it. Hahaaaa PEIRRIM DID IT ", Eric yelled joyous tongue.
Eric's words were the signal that sends all into a loud uproar. Extending their joy to the heavens. They had survived. They had survived yet another battle. It was one more tale to tell their children. One more tell of triumph and they owe it to one man.
A great silence fell upon them once again as they look upon their savior in all his splendor. Even after such feet he stood barely winded. They look upon him unsure as to what to say, but there was one who did. He drew his sword and raised it high, and with an unwavering tongue, Iegor began chanting. " Berserk King, Berserk King, Berserk King !!! ". Following his lead, they wasted no time in joining their Commander and chanted as well.
" Berserk King, Berserk King, Berserk King ".
Peirrim looks upon them and saw even his sister gave praise and was the loudest of them all. For she always knew his power was, not a curse, but a blessing for all.
