Chapter 4 - 3 Nan Sapol Ira (They Met)

Like a shattered glass, the illusion of darkness was broken. The shards falling to the ground and disappearing. Emy and Rue were rattled by what just happened.

"Did you do that?" Rue asked. Emy shook her head in reply. Her Kowadja, did not have that capability. Just moments after, they heard the painful scream of the woman. The illusion of darkness was part of her Kowadja's abilities. Since it was broken into pieces, she is now experiencing the brokenness.

She fell on the ground and blood oozed from every part of her body. The green glow coming from her eyes were fading at the same pace as her breathing. As she struggled for air, her Kowadja fell on its knees.

As the illusion completely vanished, Rue and Emy saw themselves back on the same grounds they were before meeting the woman. The sky hued orange and the sun was almost completely set. A meter away behind where the woman laid, Emy and Rue saw a figure of a man walking towards them. He walked while both of his hands were behind him. His walk seemed like lazy but at the same time his gait and stature echoed something else.

Rue continued protecting themselves with the barrier just to make sure that the one who saved them, who they presumed was this man, was their ally.

The man bowed his head and gave them a modest smile. He placed his palm in his chest , "Good evening Ms. Emerald, Ms. Rue. I know how this situation makes me suspicious, but I am not an enemy. I was sent by your grandfather, Elder Ziron to pick you ladies up from school. By now, you will receive a call from your grandfather."

True to his words, both girls were startled by a ring that came from Emy's mobile phone.

" Is that bitch still breathing?!" Emy heard once she answered her phone. It was indeed her grandfather. She was even surprised since by the question she inferred that her grandfather, Elder Ziron knew that they were attacked, by a woman, and that the woman is now trying to defy death.

"I think so." Emy answered.

"Good. Give the phone to Dmitry."

By the mention of the name Emy knew already who was Dmitry

"Dmitry?ahm.. the Elder wants to talk to you."

Confirming that this man, Dmitry, was sent by the Elder, Rue took down the barrier so that Emy could hand the phone. Dmitry walked towards the girls. Emy and Rue saw more physical details of the man as he neared them. Emy estimated he was at least 6 ft tall. Rue deduced that he might be an athlete or physically active since even though the man was wearing a dark brown coat, his toned body was obvious.

'or a model? His skin's so smooth and damn I'll give him 11/10 for that body!'

Suddenly hearing her cousin's thoughts, Emy's eyes turned to Rue and a blush appeared on each of her cheeks.

"What?!" Rue asked, rattled by the big eyes Emy shot at her.

Emy handed the phone without looking at the man. The girls tried to eavesdrop the conversation between this man and the Elder.

Dmitry turned around and now is facing both the gasping woman and the two-legged creature.

"Yeah. Both are still alive Uncle.....hmmm… what would you want to do...are you sure you'll let me decide?.....okay then….Uncle I will send Ms. Emerald and Ms. Rue home then...yeah, I'll send you the details…thank you Uncle. Bye"

After hanging up, Dmitry turned around again facing Rue. He took her hand in his and laid the mobile phone in her palm. He gave the same modest smile. All his actions by so far made Emy uncomfortable, she wasn't sure in what way these made her uncomfortable.

"Your chauffer is here waiting for you Princess. You can go home now." Dmitry said

Emy was dumfounded at what she heard. Her subtle blush turned bright red. Rue laughed that gained her a glare from the 'Elegant Beauty'.

"Don't call me that. You can address me as Emy!"

Dmitry chuckled, "I have been told by your father that you are called Emy by family members only. I appreciate the trust you have bestowed upon me on our first meeting Emy."

Realizing her mistake, she took away her hand that was still held by Dmitry. Emy composed herself and distracted the attention away from her by asking "And them?" she was referring to the woman and the beast.

"I was told to deal with them. Now go on." Dmitry's head tilted towards the gate, "It will be dark soon. We wouldn't want another confrontation this late."

At the end of his sentence, Emy's chauffer arrived panting. 'He must have ran' Emy said to herself feeling sorry that the situation made this old driver anxious and run because his ward was in danger.

She nodded in agreement and walked towards the gate. Passing by her enemies, she looked at them ambiguously, triumph and pity, seeing the bloody woman that looked almost a corpse.

Emy stopped on her tracks which made Rue halt too.

"Thank you," Dmitry heard the girl say.

Dmitry bowed his head a little and replied, "Save your gratitude for someone else Princess. I am afraid that from now on, instances that needed gratitude will keep coming."

"What do you mean?" Emy, upset at the pet name she was called once again but chose to ignore the matter, demandingly asked

"Your grandfather will explain once you reach home." Dmitry replied. His head tilted once more signaling the need for them to go.

After the chauffer closed the door of the car where the girls were ushered to, Emy cannot help but look at the man who saved them.

'She called Grandfather 'uncle' . A relative?' she asked to herself 'But he was asked to pick us up, another employee?' -Nonetheless, it was common for some of their Grandfather's employee: security guards, personal attendant, secretaries, or housemaid to be a relative.

'Anyway, I can ask Father about it' she knew that most of the answers will come from her gentle father and a few will be answered by her stern grandfather.

As the car drove away, she took a glance at the man who was still standing in front of the fallen. She only saw herself looking away immediately and feeling her face flushed as she realized the man was still looking at her.

------------------------------

Seeing the car, where the girls rode, drove off. Dmitry returned his gaze to the woman and beast in front of him. The woman looked at Dmitry's dark black eyes, it was the same gaze that he shot them while he was talking to the phone with the Elder. The look being more malicious as the words 'are you sure you'll let me decide?....okay then' came out from his lips that curled to a one-sided smile. She was sure that the two girls missed that smile.

"Now then, I believe that both of you know what will happen" Dmitry asked with a tone very different from what he used while the girls were with him.

Taking up the last bit of strength, the woman tried to mock Dmitry "Fool…I am dying anyway…by…by the time…you…begin tor…torturing me…I would have died already!"

Dmitry chuckled and knelt on one knee, he looked down at the woman and replied, this time without any trace of emotion, "Die all you want, I don't need you."

As soon as his sentence ended, the woman screamed in pain, pain she felt even more before as she realized that her body was burning starting from the inside.

"No..stop!' she pleaded. She looked at her killer and saw the shift of the color of his eyes, "You! It cannot be! Those eyes…" Even before she could finish her sentence her body immediately completely burned.

Dmitry stood up and patted his coat to get rid of the ashes. He turned his attention towards the creature kneeling. Its shoulders were jerking-it was laughing

"Entertained?" Dmitry asked

The laughing stopped. The creature stood. It opened its mouth and incomprehensible sounds came out from it.

"Good. Now do what you are told to."

Hearing the command, the creature kneeled once again this time not because it lost the battle...
