Until to this date, the region of Cordella has been an independent state from the country it belonged. The country was made of islands that were inhabited by men who grouped themselves into tribes. Five hundred years ago there were a lot of men and women who had the gift.
Five hundred years ago, magnificent beasts roamed the land and the skyworld and underworld beings came and go to live with the humans. The men and women and their children lived peacefully until the isles reluctantly received its first wave of invaders.
These invaders had features that were completely different from them. They were taller than them and their skin were white and smooth, not like the natives whose complexion was that off those who worked in the fields in the middle of the noon. Legend say they were mighty warriors who descended from the heavens seeking to establish their power on this world for they have forsaken their own god. But these invaders tricked the people of the isles, saying they have come as commanded by their god. With the power of their light, they have eliminated most of the Kowadja and have taken over the land.
The locals called these invaders Wantey. "People who have cleared the path". For three hundred years, they ruled the isles. There were series of revolt and rebellion over the three centuries. But at most, they have failed. Many have surrendered either because they were threatened or because they were given a status by the enemy.
The Wantey saw that the daughters of the locals were beautiful, and they married them. Succession of intermarriage and the rarity of those who have the gift diluted the blood until, like those instinct beasts, the native summoners were almost gone.
The country was then on called Isla de las Perlas by the Wantey as they have discovered that the sea bordering the islands were rich in pearls. Unknown to the local people, the pearls gave power to their invaders.
However, deep in the forests and in the mountains in the northern part of the country, a tribe of native people prevailed. The Wantey sent their warriors to subdue the remaining stronghold of the locals, but time and time again the warriors were killed.
The Wantey furious of the failure dubbed the natives as "Savages from the Mountain". For these locals would behead the Wantey warriors and would display the heads on the foot of the mountains. The Wantey badly desired to eliminate these 'savages'. The lowlands which were beside the sea were rich in pearls, the mountains in the highlands were rich in gold and precious stones.
The expedition culminated on the great war. The pure blooded among the Wantey, including their leader and some of the converted summoners went to war at the valleys. Unexpectedly, 3000 native warriors organized and met them in the field. The Wantey lost the war and from then on the 'savages' were left alone.
The remaining Wantey feared that the fighting force of the natives would defeat them, but the natives did not intend that. They considered them selves not as liberators. They only fought that they may defend what is remaining of their identity. A peace treaty was made between them. The country was divided into the highland and the lowland.
The lowland composed of the Wantey and their descendants with the natives. The highland, on the other hand, flourished with the descendants of the first men flourished.
The natives who fought in the war declared independence and called their land, Kafagway.
As years passed by, the power of the blood of the Wantey faded like that of the native people. Civilization paved the way to these modern times that forgot the truth of the history. The culture and tradition of the natives were reduced to mysticism and hearsay.
Science was the only truth, and the ruling government held the power. The lowland thrived in this ideology. Kafagway must survive the changing times. They adopted the practice of the lowlands so that its people will be fed. They cannot, after all, live only with raw gold.
A government was founded, and the name of the region was changed so that the bloody history of independence will not spark enmity between the lowland and the 'people in the mountains'. The region of Cordella was formed.
Nonetheless, in secrecy, the blood of the summoners was strong in the region of the Cordella.
