When they enter Trystan's home that is actually a pretty big tree house. He just leaves Scarlet standing in the living room and goes to check if the windows and doors are closed like someone is watching them.
"What are you-" Trystan shushes her and lits up a candle putting it on the table next to the couch which Scarlet is sitting on.
The girl shuts up until the boy comes back carrying a bunch of heavy books which he sets on the table then sits down on a chair himself, facing Scarlet.
She takes out the card from her pocket and puts it on the table, near the candle, to let it dry.
"How did you get in the forest, Scarlet?"
"That's a long story..."
"Tell me, how did you found the tarot card?"
"I found it in the other forest, on the ground"
"How did you get in the other forest?"
"It's gonna sound strange but, i crossed a river, walking on it..."
"Scarlet, do you know what a magician is?"
"Yes, but i don't see the point in these questions"
"Let me tell you a short story:
Once upon a time lived a great magician who fell in love with a human woman. They had a child together but the woman died when the child was born.
While the mgician was walking with the child through the woods, he spotted a loving couple having troubles with a beast.
Wanting the couple to live a long life with each other, how he didn't got to, he fought the beast sacrificing himself for the couple.
So the two of them took his child an raised it as their own until the day she will come back as the strongest wizardess of the woods."
"So, you say that-"
"You are that child, Scarlet, and when you entered the forest, it recognized you and gave you this mark" says Trystan showing her the mark from a book
"And that it means-"
"The beast still lives, you should fight it to help the forest and advance your father"
"B-But i just want to go back home!"
"Scarlet-"
"No! Leave me alone! I don't want to advance a father who left me for the sake of two strangers!
At least they raised me like he should have done!"
And with that, Scarlet is out of the house, running away from her own destiny.
The girl runs at full speed until she's out of breath so she takes a nap leaning on a tree.
"Why is my life such a mess!?"
she screams punching the tree until her fists get bloody.
Then she sits down next to the tree trunk and cries tears she had been holding in for so long.
Suddenly, in front of her is standing a hideous monster, with long and sharp fangs sticking out of it's mouth, fresh blood driping from them.
The beast lets out a monstrous howl then jumps at the poor stunned girl with fear dancing in her amber eyes.
