Cipher understood what DEM was saying, so he decided it was best to prepare himself for the possibility of anything happening. Walking into the building Cipher passed four large glass doors, if it wasn't for the blood that coated the floor and in some places the walls he would have liked to just look at the simple yet refined architecture. Glancing left and right Cipher couldn't see anyone, the outer area of the building was completely glass so visibility wasn't an issue. While trying to decide which direction to go, cipher heard a high pitch scream came from the left hallway, and without hesitation, Cipher sprinted down the hallway. The first-floor seemed to be empty anyone that was left on that floor must have been able to get out before the nightmare came down, there was also the chance that the nightmare had yet to get to the first floor. Taking a staircase to the second floor Cipher made his way down the hallway taking brief moments to check out the rooms he would pass. The whole situation was awful, most of the rooms that were open had blood coating the floor, and dismembered bodies that the medics had yet to remove.
Seeing the brutality of how the people were killed Cipher had to constantly calm himself down. It's was until Cipher stopped to check room two hundred and thirty-three that his brain function seemed to stall. What Cipher saw was a scene he wouldn't soon forget. Seeing that the door was open Cipher had decided to stop and check the room, on the floor near the door were two bodies. They both looked like researchers since they were wearing white lab coats, the one seemed to be a female and the other a male. The female's body had been cleanly bisected from head to groin, this caused her two halves to separate and the organs to slide out onto the floor. The male was missing his head and his body seemed to have been crushed and then slammed into the ground near the female cause an extremely messy scene. Seeing the bodies of the male and female made Cipher want to puke, but having enough mental control he was able to calm himself down and stop himself.
Upset and now pissed off Cipher had a question he needed to be answered, {Cipher~ DEM I need to know, are all Nightmares like this? Do they all just take pleasure in killing and destroying things?} {DEM~ Nightmares follow their own instinct, it would be best to compare them to insects. Nightmares at A-Class and higher are known to have cognitive thoughts, but even then in almost all recorded cases they still carry blood lust and a need to destroy.} Listening to DEM helped Cipher calm down quite a bit, I didn't help Cipher feel better about what he saw but he was able to rationalize the whole situation better. After taking a few breaths Cipher decided to continue his search before he left though he noticed a video recorder on the ground, picking it up he decided to hold onto it figuring it may have information that Tank might want to see.
At this point Cipher was getting annoyed, he couldn't find the Nightmare and everyone he found was dead. Cipher was also feeling anxious whatever this Nightmare was it had enough power to cut people in half which would require a decent amount of power to cut through all the bones and organs as if it was tofu. Making his way to the third floor he heard another scream, this time though it was cut off short.
Cipher was sure that the Nightmare was going to be around the next corner, grasping the handles of his blades he unsheathed them pointing one up at an angle and the other downward angle away from himself. Cipher had been taught that it is better to approach a fight with caution, this stance allowed him to defend his upper body with his left sword and have his right sword prepped to reinforce, defend his lower body, or attack if there was an opening. Cipher took the next left turn coming face to face with a very beautiful woman, but before he could even make a syllable her body split apart causing a large amount of blood to cover Cipher head to toe.
It was at this point that Cipher was finally able to see the Nightmare that had killed so many people. Though he felt sad for the woman that had just lost her life in front of him, Cipher didn't have time to move her body. Cipher prepared himself for what was about to happen and decided instead he made a mental note that after the battle finished he would pick up her body and take her down to Tank himself. Seeing the Nightmare standing there Cipher noticed the weird grin on its face, seeing the grin that the Nightmare had on its face pissed Cipher off. The creature had a lean build that had a body that resembled a human mixed with a mantis. The head had a jaw with large angular teeth that seemed to be stuck in a perpetual grin and had large round black eyes. Its body had four arms two of them had sharp metal claws, while the other two looked like they were scythe blades. The body of the Nightmare seemed to have a shine to it and was a deep crimson red color with black highlights.
Looking at the thing in front of him made Cipher's blood boil, this creature had decimated a multitude of people and had a grin on his face. Cipher understood that he could completely fault the Nightmare, but that really didn't matter to Cipher after having a woman killed and her body split apart directly in front of him. The only thing on Cipher's mind was how best to kill the thing in front of him, and how he was going to make sure he didn't end up like all the other people he had seen so far. Stepping through the puddle of blood Cipher started his assault.
