***(Monday 17 October Two weeks ago)***
"Stop!" Two paramedics carried a stretch bed out and began to wheel it into the hospital as the body on it writhed it discomfort and pain.
It was smeared in blood and the patient grasped onto the arm of the nearest nurse, "Stop! At once! I must speak with you."
"Don't worry sir," Eva winced at his incredibly firm grasp, "We'll do everything we can."
And with a grunt he fell into the bed as he let out a lamentation of a groan. His breathing was highly uneven as he grasped for air and sunk into a faint.
And minutes later he lay in the Intensive Care Unit, ready for his procedures and Eva was shut out of the door to attend to his next of kin.
And she couldn't help but feel curious about the patient as he watched Willow, the doctor who was also her friend walk into he room where the patient was, but not before she gave her a worried look that had Willow frowning as she disappeared behind the door.
"But sir surely his family will want to see him?" She inquired with the man who stood before her.
He was tall, tan skinned and had black thick hair with bangs that flowed across his forehead.
Dressed in a black suited attire he exhibited elements of mystery and absolutely beauty.
"I'm sure they would. But they won't. I'm his friend here on his behalf, so attend to him all you must, I'll leave money for the procedures so far. Everything else shall be taken care of. But don't tell him I was here, he might be upset that I was - he doesn't like to be a bother you see." He smiled, he had bunny like teeth that made him seem somewhat endearing.
Eva nodded and sighed in confusion as she asked, "And what about his discharge?"
"Don't worry about that Miss, he'll be off your hands before you know it." He said as he turned to walk away.
"Wait I know that but I meant who will help him!?" She yelled at ths man who walked away swiftly and began to cross the street where another man dressed in similar attire had already begun walking in the same direction.
"What in earth was that?" She said as she looked at the man's records and the receptionist who sat with a pile of cash in her hands.
***Present Day***
Willow threw her empty coffee cup away as she made to get another refill.
And one tall highly caffeinated cup later she snuck off to the exit door and climbed onto the stairwell behind the tall building; her getaway spot.
Everyone at the hospital had a getaway spot, it was needed for the sake of sanity.
She sat two floors above ground and the air smelt like gas, cool air and backyard.
And as she sat in silence, with her cup in hand, she deliberated about nothing and everything.
Particularly about that Park Jungwoo patient.
Eva was right to speculate as much as she did. Because his character was indeed lacking in essential detail.
And if he truly was involved in Javelin, the secret service that was a gang that terrorised Willow and her family - for once she'd be in a position where she actually would feel the need to judge her patient and his decisions.
Then suddenly her phone rang - nobody ever called her during office hours, with the exception of Eva.
"Hello?"
"Will..." A terrified voice spoke
Immediately standing up her hands grasped her phone tighter, "Eva? You okay?"
"Will, he escaped."
"What?" She replied as she looked through the cafeteria window, everyone was moving about casually, so she figured the news hadn't moved far, or that it wasn't news at all. Which led her to her next question
"How?"
"No-one has found out yet, he escaped easily Will but he's dangerous! I told you he was dangerous and you wouldn't listen!" Eva continued to panic.
"Of course I knew he was dangerous that's exactly why he was in handcuffs! Anyway, stay put, I'll come there immediately - and not a word about any of this to anyone okay?"
Immediately ending the call Willow gathered herself and made to walk through the door and confront Eva about her suspicions.
Except she didn't have to.
Because in the dimly lit alley, she saw him.
A dark figure walking through the alley in patient's scrubs, apparently to the parking lot.
Anyone would've called for help, but not Willow, she felt a hunger for answers.
She made her way down the spiral stairway and as soon as she hit the ground, the man who was a couple of meters away stopped in his tracks.
"Going somewhere?" Her voice was cold and clear
Taking a step back he stood up straight despite his wounds and groaned in pain.
"Don't do that. You'll hurt yourself more, you're not in the best shape yet." She warned
"You're that doctor."
That was the first time she heard him speak - his voice was gruff and low, probably rough from exhaustion.
"And if I am?" She smiled as she walked up to him, "Will you come back in?"
"No." He growls
Willow's smile faltered. She hated difficult patients.
"You're in pain and probably paranoid, come with me."
"Your friend told me you could help me, that's why I let her go, I suppose that's why she lied that you are waiting in the parking lot and didn't expect you to come down here." He chuckled
"I am a doctor, that is precisely my job, sir, now come back and if you are feeling well, you will be discharged." Willow instructed as she snorted at Eva's dumb plan.
"Did your little nurse friend not tell you?"
Willow stared at him, feeling frozen.
"She was right?"
"About the gang nonsense? Yes, she was."
"So you're part of Javelin?"
He chuckled at this, "No I am not. But my gang is expecting my return, I ordered them not to follow me."
"If you're part of a gang why would you make such a ridiculous request?"
"So that they wouldn't be found on my account and that someone would find Jungwoo Park and believe him to be all on his own instead." He simply replied
"As honourable as that sounds I know it's a lie. Anyway who could possibly be after you?"
"Javelin."
"They don't exist." Willow tried to dismiss him
He laughed and doubled over in pain, "Ugh damn! They will kill me, and you and this point, if we don't escape."
"Javelin won't care about me." She mumbled
"You seem to be knowledgeable about them. Even if Javelin doesn't kill you, my gang will - and trust me, we are are far more dangerous than Javelin could ever be." He said sternly and more seriously than be had before.
"If you're so dangerous why haven't I heard of you but only Javelin."
Willow was stubborn. She needed to be convinced.
"Ever heard of a silent killer? You've heard of us before, I'm sure of it."
"I can't help you." Willow retorted as she turned away
"Help me Dr Willow Quinn, or die by the hand of the Citadel."
She felt her breathing stop.
Citadel - a name that went around about a rag tag group of men who had considerable control in the city, Rumoured new found rivals to Javelin...if Citadel was real then that must mean her family-
"What's your choice?" His voice broke her out of her stupor causing her to turn around and face the man who stood before her.
He seemed capable of surviving on his own, she was just his easiest option.
"Citadel?" She repeated, walking back to him
"I sense we are on the same side...so won't you help a poor sinner's agenda?" He asked
Shifting her weight from one foot to the other she grabbed her phone out of her pocket and pressed call.
"Hello?" A voice answered, her phone was on loud speaker so he could hear as well, he stood still and eerie, in curiosity.
"Eva? You let him out?" Willow accused
There was a silence until Eva confessed, "I did okay?! He threatened me Will! I had no choice please under-"
"My break lasts for 35 minutes more, I need you to cover for me... I should be back soon." And the man tilted his head at her
She look straight at him, "I have to take a friend home."
"What? Omg I was lying to him about you, but be believed me, he said there is something about your personality that could guarantee his escape and your allegiance."
She raised her eyebrows at the man who merely looked to the side.
"I'll explain soon, but for now I need you to listen to me and follow my instructions okay?"
"Oh okay, but please hurry. I'll cover for you."
After hanging up she looked at him and he suddenly stumbled into a fall. She ran and caught him out of instinct causing her to fall to the ground with him.
He was breathing heavily from the drugs and fatigue.
"I know you probably don't believe me, but I want to say thank you, and Citadel will be indebted to you - that is if you don't betray me and get yourself killed." He spoke in a soft tired voice
He laughed and his eyes shut close in momentary relief.
Willow was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Not because she had been threatened with death, Willow didn't fear death, but because she was offered a chance she's always wanted.
What better time to med her life than now?
"Hey!" She nudged him. His face had fallen into her bust and she cupped his face, "I want revenge. There's someone I want you to find. Help me find them and I will help you."
His eyes opened, and they were like ambers lightened by the street lights as a smile cracked across his face, "Revenge? My favourite."
He sat up and moved his face close to hers, so close she could imagine she felt his lips brush across the bridge of her nose as he smiled through what looked like childish excitement spreading across his face.
With a lick across his lips his eyes racked across her face; he was regarding her properly for the first time before he stuck his hand out
"You got yourself a deal, Doctor. A revenge plan in exchange for my escape."
