"Willow what took you so long!?" Eva yelled as she walked across the corridor by her side towards her designated outdoor chi spot.
"I had a lot to deal with."
"You owe me an explanation!" Eva pulled her arm roughly causing her to spin
"And I will, but not here." Willow pulled her by teh elbow.
Minutes later they were outside against the musky weather as Eva stared at her with wide eyes, "You took him to your house?"
"I did." Willow replied robotically
"What if the police come for him, you will be arrested! And what if he wakes up at your house when you aren't there?"
Willow sighed one more time, "Well he assured me the police won't come and if they do I can blame it on him, and," She pulled out her phone, "I am watching him on my home serveillance app."
Eva looked closely at squinted at his sleepy state in what looked like Willow's bed, "He looks heavily sedated." She noted
Willow's eyes darted to the side as she pocketed her phone, and it took Eva not long to realise
"Oh my god you drugged him!?" She shrieked
"Shh you idiot!" Willow covered her mouth, "Just slightly, he'll be alright, he won't get hurt," she lowered her hand, "actually he was too exhausted so he'll need the sleep, so it'll last for a while and he'll wake up soon, but I'll add another dosage of I have to."
"You drugged him!" Eva retorted
"You are NOT listening! I carried a whole criminal home! Giving him a sleeping pill is the least important detail here."
Eva laughed in amusement as she stared at Willow, "Look at you! I knew you cared a little about something!"
"I don't care too much for Park Jungwoo." She drawled
"Of course you do that's why you took him home."
Willow clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth as she sat on the stairs. Eva squashed in beside her.
"You'll get your pretty nurse's dress soiled" Willow frowned at Eva's crisp white attire
"I don't care. I wanna know why you care so much about him." She turned to face her completely
"Like I said I don't care for him - I care for his well-being."
Eva frowned, "His well-being?"
"If I can keep him alive for the next few days and get him to sleep a lot, he'll be fit enough to go back to his home and there he can repay him. I'll put a dosage in every meal he has at night and have him oversleep - he'll think he's simply exhausted. I need him to repay me."
"You're doing this for money?" Eva whispered
"No V, he made a promise, a favour - I need to see him through the trial of whatever he has planned. Whatever it is. And if he is truly who he says he is, he will stick by his word."
Eva stared at her, "I wish I knew what was going on in your mind."
"Trust me you don't. Anyway, I need to collect his medical records, delete him from the system as well..."
She trailed off as the realisation of her actions came to her. She was being the opposite of ethical. But if she wanted to see her family again, this was the only way. She had no choice.
Eva seemed to read her determination as he pat her knee, "I hope you know what you are doing."
Willow smiled at Eva, "I hope so too." And she stood up, "Now come on! Back to work."
And so with Eva's help she collected the essentials; painkillers, bandages and the like for home treatment and managed to get a copy of all his records and then deleting them all.
And soon enough, their night shift ended and they parted ways .
"See you tomorrow!" Eva mumbled as she walked to her car, Willow could tell she was fatigued and conflicted but did not wish to push further.
"I suppose." Willow mumbled as she too drove home
Three days later of attending to him and caring for him she came home once again on the fourth morning to a quiet home at 8am and she layed out ingredients for breakfast. She usually would skip this part of the day, but Jungwoo needed it.
And just as she was about to light the stove, she made to cut up some fruits for a smoothie
"Knife....where's the knife," she mumbled to herself as he searched her drawer, but suddenly she let out a yelp as she felt a hand round her waist and a knife to her throat
"What the fuck have you been doing to me? I feel so fucking sleepy when you leave!" The voice was strained sounded absolutely out of it.
She decided to out with it
"I sedated you! You were so jumpy and restless I and to do it or else you would heal much slower! Standard procedure." She fibbed
He had finally regained consciousness.
With one swift motion he turned her around and she looked at him.
They looked at each other once more as they have in the last few days, he rarely spoke or asked for much, he usually ate, she'd encourage light excersise and he'd sit in front of her television and watch her set shows, of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Grey's Anatomy and Lucifer.
And once she saw him watching Tom and Jerry. He didn't seem like a criminal with an agenda at all. Until she realised he wasn't watching TV, he merely stared at it. He was always processing something.
At times he'd go trough her book shelf, here she could see he paid attention to the text.
Once in a while he'd ask her how's work, if anyone has bothered her and to keep her eyes open.
But today he seemed to have broken routine.
"You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into have you?" He asked
"I do, Jungwoo."
He laughed, "The name's Ace, darling."
"Ace?"
"Park Jungwoo is what I use in public." Leaves a clean trail to work with
"But that's your legal name."
He shook his head with a smile, "In this life, what matters is the name you give yourself."
She stared at him, "We had a deal."
He looked straight ahead, "You're right about that. Hand me your phone." He said suddenly
"Look, you better not be swindling me-"
"Listen you broke the law and put your trust in me. I call the shots now, if you wanna survive this, you will listen more carefully. Now hand me your phone. We've been here for too long."
His tone was sharp and she could see a shift in purpose this time around. She'd been waiting for this side of him; for him to take action.
"Okay. Do what you may."
She handed him her phone and watched him dial the number and put it to his ear
"It's me." He speaks, "I need you here asap." And he hung up as soon as he called, placing bed phone on the countertop behind her.
"He doesn't know where I live." She rolled her eyes
"At this point I'm sure they've found out by now." He smirked, "Grab whatever you feel is essential, clothes, possessions, no electronics, we leave everything traceable here."
"I beg your pardon WE?" She snorted
"We're leaving together Doctor." He said simply as he threw himself onto the couch
"To where?"
"My house." He smiled, "If we're to succeed in this mission of yours you need to join us and be the nucleus, for the time being at least, but even after that we can't let you go, you'll have to stay."
Her jaw dropped.
"So I have to be your permanent hostage?"
"Not hostage. Not at all. Guest, if you may. But if you want me to fulfill my end of the bargain that's my condition."
Willow clutched onto the countertop. And he looked up at the ceiling.
"Fine then. Your choice." he said as he shut his eyes.
"I have to find my family." She said
His eyes peeled open at this, "I see."
"I'll go pack."
The decision was simple for her.
"Remember, minimal clothing Willow, the rest we'll find for you alright?"
"You buy me anything I need?"
"Anything you need, anything you want to." He winked
"Are you serious?" She laughed
"Of course. Consider me your very willing sugar daddy."
She threw a cushion at his head, which he caught swiftly with a bellowing laugh. The first laugh shed heard from him.
She couldn't help but smile back at him.
"Grab a yoghurt at least from the fridge and something small to snack on."
He simply nodded at her
'I'm insane for trusting you." She said walking away to her room
He groaned as he sat back into the couch, "You really are baby girl. You honestly are."
