Chapter 6 - 6 | The Big Reveal (Part One)

Astrid was sitting around in a wheely chair, spinning around and staring at the ceiling. God, she was so bored. Honestly she was hoping one of them came back incredibly injured. Just because... she's bored.

Nolan entered the infirmary, a soft smile on his face. He looked around a bit, his eyes landing on Astrid. "Hey Astrid!" Nolan said cheerfully as he walked further inside.

Phoenix opened the door, she had resorted to limping to get off her left hoof. "Chase here?" She asked, holding the door for Theo.

Theo walked in and looked at the people she looked like hell. She waved slightly and stepped behind Phoenix.

Nolan looked at them and his eyes widened some. "Oh geez. . . are you guys alright?" He walked closer to help Phoenix, supporting her left side, as he had seen her limp inside.

Chase came walking into the main room from the back. "I heard my name-" he blinked a few times at them. "-oh. . . hey, wow, you guys had a good time out there didn't you?" He chuckled softly, walking over to them.

"There were monsters..." Theo said shakily and held her arm, whimpering slightly.

"Furies really don't know when to stay down." Phoenix huffed. "Her arm is dislocated I'm pretty sure," Phoenix motioned to Theo and nodded a small thanks to Nolan.

Chase nodded. "Alright, we can take a look." He smiled softly, looking back at Theo. "If you want to you can take a seat, get yourself comfortable."

Nolan had helped Phoenix over to a bed so that she could relax for now. "Furies? Where were you guys coming from?" He asked curiously.

"Northwest, pretty sure we ran through a nest.." Phoenix explained.

Theo was still confused, her dad never told her about monsters. She was confused and sore and really really wanted a nap.

Chase sighed, taking a look at Theo's injury, very carefully.

"Really? Gods. . . I'm glad you guys made it alright." Nolan said, folding his arms as he stood by Phoenix.

"Yea, I think most were out of the nest, I killed at least two," Phoenix explained further. "Way more than I've seen in one place though, I think they stopped following our trail once we got to the hill."

"That was the most terrifying thing I'd ever been in... If Phoenix hadn't been there I probably wouldn't even have an arm... or my life..." Theo said softly.

Phoenix looked over to Theo a bit concerned.

Nolan looked over at Theo, his expression softening. "I'm thankful you both were able to make it back alright." He said softly.

Chase nodded a little as he assisted Theo. "I second that thankfulness." He said as he worked, being as gentle as he could. "My name is Chase, by the way." He explained again.

"Nolan is my name." He smiled, looking between the two girls. "Pleasure to see another successful drop off. . . Courtney and I had just brought in twins from Europe. Though we didn't run into those Furies, thank the gods." Nolan continued, shifting his weight to one side.

"Twins? Have they been claimed yet?" Phoenix asked Nolan.

Nolan looked down at Phoenix and nodded a bit. "Aphrodite children." He said simply."Although, even if they didn't tell us I'm fairly certain we would have figured that one out because one of them quite literally has a glow about him." He chuckled softly.

"They usually do," Phoenix laughed softly."Let me guess the other one is the complete opposite of what a son of a love god wouldn't act like?" She smiled.

He laughed. "One of them definitely wouldn't strike me as an Aphrodite child based on personality. But if you were to see him, you would be able to tell." Nolan said.

Chase continued to focus on what he was doing. I'm lazy so I'm not writing it all out. Eventually, he finished up and gave Theo some stuff to help with the pain and such.

Theo was happy for the help, her shoulder was mostly just sore beyond belief now. "When can I take a nap?" Theo asked softly and shifted her bag on her shoulder.

"You haven't been claimed so, I would say the big house," Phoenix explained.

Chase walked over to the bed that Nolan had helped Phoenix to, kneeling down to take a look at her left hoof.

Nolan took a deep breath, looking over at Theo. "I can take you over there and we can get you all set up." He offered.

Theo blinked, "I already know who my godly parent is." She said but nodded to Nolan.

Phoenix looked at her. "I guess you didn't really get a chance to tell me," she laughed softly.

Theo smiled and rubbed her neck, "I'm sorry Pheonix. My dad is Aristaeus. He's one of Apollo's godly children." She said and rubbed her arm, "Specifically of bee-keeping and fruit trees."

"Explains why I was sent after you," Phoenix said.

She blinked and cocked her head slightly, "What do you mean?" She asked

"I have a small connection with Apollo, I've gotten a few of kids here, first Aristaeus kid tho," she explained.

"Only Aristaeus kid." Theo said softly and rubbed her neck.

Chase blinked a few times, looking over his shoulder, up at Theo. He nodded some, looking back down at Phoenix's hoof, just kinda listening to them talk.

Nolan smiled softly, also just letting them speak as he stood there.

"Don't worry, being a only kid means you get a bunk to yourself," she chuckled.

Theo smiled softly, "thank you again for everything." She said happily then turned to chase, "and thank you for helping with my arm."

"Just be careful with it." Chase said. "And if you have any issues, don't be afraid to stop back in here." He continued.

Nolan started towards the exit, turning to wait for Theo before heading out, a small smile on his face.

Theo smiled and nodded, following after Nolan. She wasn't as worried now that she saw just how nice everyone here was.

Phoenix smiled. "She's sweet," she said as Theo left.
