Chapter 9 - JANIS!

ROSE's POV

It was Jessica and Teddy. Seeing them made me feel happy. You can be confused that what is Jessica doing here in L.O.S.T University? I can answer you why.

The day I moved to my dorm, I didn't find my mysterious roommate at first. But after some time, turns out that Jessica was my roommate. What a fate! And eventually, I introduced Jessica to Teddy. From then me, Jessica and Teddy are kind of close friends. But my bad luck is that Teddy is studying Linguistics and Jessica studying Journalism, and my major is in Finance. Totally different subjects.

"So from when you guys' are night students?" I cut the silence between the three of us. Jessica was sitting beside me, stirring her hot steamy red pasta with a spoon and Teddy was in front of us, having his salad.

"From today, of course," Jessica replied, putting a spoonful of creamy red pasta inside her mouth.

"Exactly, when we saw that our beloved friend Rose is night studying all by herself then why don't we join with her, and it will help us in the study too, you know Rose, hunting two birds with one arrow," Teddy said while chewing his salad.

"That's good to hear. But the thing you said 'Studying all by yourself' isn't true," I said, while dipping a lot of noodles and soup inside my mouth, making a slurping sound.

"What do you mean?" Jessica asked.

"I meant that I am not alone in the night studying, I have made many friends in there you know," I grinned, "And most of them aren't freshman like us, they are our seniors, and the fun part is they like a talkative person like me." I gave a hammy expression. Really I am such a blessed that I am talkative.

"Indeed you are," Jessica said while eating.

"Yes, Jessica is right. You are talkative but in a positive way. Making friends is just a play of your left hand." Teddy said after Jessica.

"Wow really, play of my left hand? Why not right hand?" Saying this I moved my right hand back and forth a few times.

"Of course play of left hand, because if its play of your right hand then how will you do your things right? For example, how will you eat?" Teddy lifted his left brow and smiled.

"But I eat with my left hand," Jessica said. And all our attention went to Jessica.

"Okay…where is this conversation heading to?" I asked,

"To be honest, I don't know." Teddy replied.

"I am going to the Finance section, see you guys later, in the midnight snack break," I said while entering inside the Library.

"I am in the Journalism section, bye guys" Jessica waved, went inside, and in no second she was out of sight.

"I guess I will go too." Teddy shrugged, "And you will find me in the Linguistics section," He smiled and left.

I smiled back and didn't say anything, I was standing in the Library entrance.

"Hi Senior Dollie!" I waved at Dollie Janson, The one and only Nigerian student in this University. She was sitting in the central research table, where every basic info about a certain subject take place. This research table was of Finance, my subject.

"Oh Rose! How are you?" She asked, without looking at me.

"I am fine and flawless, what about you?" I asked back.

"Same as you," She then took a glance on me, and smiled.

I smiled back and said, "I will be going to a desk then."

"Sure," She said, taking a last glance on me, while she adjusted her glasses, which was always on her nose.

I went to a desk next to a French window, turned on the lamp, and opened my textbook. Before starting reading I turned on my phone to check the time. It was 8 pm. And then I looked over my book, started reading.

"Hey Flora! Wait!" My eyes slowly opened hearing a familiar voice, she was shouting at someone.

Her loud voice echoed all around the empty pin-drop silenced library. I realized that I fell asleep while gaining knowledge.

"Flora…please wait for me!" she again shouted. This voice, it's of JANIS!

I quickly turned my head and saw a girl's back, she was wearing a black trench coat and black jeans. She then turned back exposing her pretty face, looking for something or someone. She has a dark brown hair with green eyes, straight pointed nose and full lips. WAIT WAIT WAIT, THAT'S JANIS!!

She then started walking towards the bookshelves in no time, she disappeared in the forest of bookshelves.

I stood up in the speed of light, and the second moment I was standing I felt a heavy yet thin pain in my legs, I think due to less blood circulation.

I tried to run, but I found myself hobbling. Soon I was running, I was trying to find Janis.

I ran forward two shelves then out of the library and found her standing with a book in her right hand in the hallway, I was seeing her back, she was talking with a girl, and the girl she was talking to left. She was standing still, a few meters away from me. But I don't know what happened to my feet, it was not stopping and I was running.

"Hey! Janis!" I shouted to grab her attention, but it was too late. She turned her head, hasn't even looked at me and *BANG*we fell down on the ground.

"I don't care who was at fault or not, I want explanations that what you both girls are doing in this midnight!?" Ma'am Giselle yelled at me and that Janis. We were standing in front of her door. The place where we fell down and made the a doomsday-like sound was in front of the Faculty Quarter, the most prohibited area of the university, where the most honorable high level professor's live, perhaps with their family. Turns out that Flora Carter was a friend of SENIOR Janis Watson again the daughter of Professor Giselle Carter.
