ROSE's POV
"How dare you put salt instead of sugar in my coffee!? Again write 'Sweetie Don't Drink It' on my cup?!!" Janis screamed on his faced and scowled.
The Barista didn't say anything, just looking at Janis, smirking.
"Whaaaatttt?!" I screamed out of realization.
"Seriously Janis? He did that?" I asked Janis, but no reply came from her. She totally ignored me.
"Jerk," She murmured and released him. But a slap landed on his face before Janis stepped out of the kitchen. I followed Janis afterwards and found Janis picking her coffee cup and going to the manager with the cup in her hand. Her complaint about the barista made manager angry and frowned. He quickly went to the kitchen and brought the barista by holding the barista's ear. Regret and guiltiness were all over the barista's face. Surprisingly the curly honey blonde hair and blue eyes of him were gone and was replaced with black eyes and glowing bald head. Wait…a minute, bald head and black eyes?!!!!! THAT'S NOT HIM!!
"That's not him," Janis murmured and looked at me with the same expression I have now, a confused frowned face.
"Sorry Miss, what did you say?" The manager didn't get what Janis murmured, but at least I knew what she said.
"He's not the barista, the other barista is at fault," Janis said.
"What are you saying miss, we only have one barista working for us, and it's him, Walter Balder." The manager explained,
"Yes ma'am I am the barista, and I am sorry what I did," The bald man sat on the floor and started begging, "Please don't send me to jail. I thought you were my ex-girlfriend, she looks a lot like you, that's why I thought of pranking her, but it was you, and I am really sorry about that. Please forgive me." The bald barista started sobbing.
But where is that guy, the person who got slapped by Janis?
"Manager, what is happening here?" I heard a deep husky voice from the behind of Janis. A tall man's shadow covered her. Janis turned back and a pair of icy blue eyes looked at her, smirking. A deep red bruise can be noticed on his cheek.
"Oh Mr. Kazomaki," The manager started sweating.
"Mr. Kazomaki?! What do you mean by Mr. Kazomaki?! He's the one who have put salt in my coffee and written inappropriate things on my cup." Janis said hesitantly.
"Miss I am afraid that you mistook Mr. Kazomaki as the barista, but Balder is the one at fault also the only barista of L.O.S.T Café, and Mr. Kazomaki is the owner of this café." Manager said with a nervous voice, clearing every bit of confusion we had.
"Then what was he doing inside the kitchen wearing a barista apron?!"
"I was making my Americano," Mr. Kazomaki said, faking a smile.
Hearing that, I was shocked, and I am pretty sure that Janis has been fell from the sky, her expression was telling that.
Realizing that both of us are messed up, I gulped and quickly took out my wallet, pulled out 300 bucks, and gave it to the manager.
"Here's the bill, and keep the change. Also Janis I have a lecture to attend in a few minutes, and I am also sure that you have one too. Hence, let's go."
I lied about the lecture, both I and Janis knew that our classes are in 3 hours. I held Janis' right hand and wanted to go but the second moment I felt a strong force from behind, Janis was pulling me backwards. I turned my head and saw Mr. Kazomaki holding her left hand very tightly, and his head was very close to Janis, he was whispering something to her. Then he released her. And I noticed a light red bruise on her grip due to less blood circulation.
.
.
.
"Oh my god! What have I done?!!!" Janis squatted on her toes and placed her both hands on her face out of frustration, I am sitting on the bench, witnessing her way of expressing excessive frustration. We are at the Saint Hawkes' Park, at last, a place whose name doesn't do anything with 'LOST'.
"Janis how many times shall I say? F*cking Calm down, and tell me what did[FAK1] he tell you back there and what actually happened? I am waiting for hours."
Janis inhaled and exhaled, she looked at me with a calmed face.
"Uhuhuhuuuu!" Again burying her face with her hands with an exasperated growl.
I patted on her back, "Janis, please chill down, you need to tell me everything in detail, therefore I can help you to choose what to do next, or else I am pretty confused that what's going on." I once more explained her the situation.
"Okay…" She got up and sat beside me, not to mention her dramatic sniffs.
"Should I tell you from the first?"
"First, please." I looked at her, pursed my lips.
"At first, I gave you the coffee cup named: - Rose, and took mine from the tray. Then I noticed a little note "Sweetie Don't Drink it." Written next to my name on the cup, I was pretty disturbed with that. But I ignored it and took a big sip of the coffee. And you know what happened after that. After realizing that the coffee was filled with sodium chloride AKA salt, my temper was up. It was very insulting, at first an inappropriate message on the cup, again a coffee which doesn't even taste like coffee but only salt. And this work will be done by one person only, The Barista. So I asked the manager where the barista is, and rushed to him. Because of my temper that time I didn't even think of complaining to the Café owner nor the manager, how stupid of me" Janis took breathe after a long speech.
"Then?" I asked curiously.
"When I opened the kitchen door, I saw a man, slicked back curly black hair and blue eyes with a Barista apron. He was making coffee, black expresso were dropping inside the cup from the manual expresso machine beside him. He told me that, if I am looking for anyone, I didn't say anything. I just remember that I growled at him and in a flash I rushed to him and pulled his collar. His cup from his hand fell down on the floor, making a mess. I don't know what caused him to smirk in that type of moment, but he was smirking. You came after that, and you know what happened next. I slapped him with all of my energy, resulting in the place where I slapped him turn red like a tomato." She again took a breath break.
"Then, when the manager told me that the real culprit was that bald, and 'the owner of the café' Mr. Kazomaki was innocent. My world tore apart. I didn't know what to do until you speak up. Thank you very much, Rose, for that." She finished her explaining. But I wasn't satisfied.
"Hey, you didn't tell me what Kazomaki whispered in your ears." I poked her, reminding her the main point.
"Oh about that," Janis' calm face again turned exasperated.
I patted on her shoulder, "Hey-hey, don't show me that expression again. Tell me, what did he whisper?"
"He told me to meet him at the back gate of L.O.S.T University tonight to fulfil my apologies to him for the physical violence and public disturbance inside the café. If I don't show up his lawyer will take care of the rest." Janis shivered in fear.
(Meanwhile at Kai Kazomaki's mansion)
SAMUEL's POV
I was reading a book about the history of L.O.S.T Island, sitting in Kai's desk peacefully.
As I have doubted the Jonas' have a deep link towards L.O.S.T Island, and I have to know what that is.
"Gosh women these days!" Kai entered the study room, slamming the door open, and making a loud sound. Which made me sit up straight in a sec. Kai seemed very angry.
"Whoa whoa, dude what happened? You seemed badly tempered." He was indeed very mad. Kai's angry side was a rare sight. He never showed his temper so easily. Something extreme must have been done, and the results was Kai's face.
"Women these days interesting, pretty yet annoying!" He clenched his fists and banged on the table, making the table shook plus trembling all the books.
