Chapter 28 - Record #27: Awakening (3)

Year 4667 of the Unified Imperial Calendar:

Fourth Month, Day 18. (8:06 AM)

◇ Astra's POV ◇

I was seriously mad at this piece of shit.

The moment I managed to clear away all the slaves coming at me, I then checked the hidden cameras I found through the data sent by Isabelle using a remote hacking device. Though I say it's a remote hacking device, it's actually something that looks just like a laptop.

Well, that aside, what I saw absolutely horrified me. As the experience injected into me helped increase my judgement towards injuries at a glance, I was able to quickly realize how grave milady's situation was.

My entire body boiled in anger, as I then moved towards the hidden room that they were in, which I found through the blueprint hidden in the deepest layers of the data I received.

As I moved, I connected into the fucker's panel, and spoke, "I'll fucking kill you."

I had let loose all the limiters at that point, and when I finally reached where they were...

...that piece of shit was beating up milady.

The moment I saw milady reaching her hand out to me, my chest tightened. And when she spoke the words, "Save me", it was when I finally snapped.

Milady was majestic. She was dignified, and prideful. For her to be reduced in such a state—where she even had to ask help from me who is a slave—I knew I could never forgive the guy who did this to her.

I immediately went over to her side, and used the only Transference Cube I had to send her back into the Lab. It was the only ticket I had to return, but I couldn't care less. This bastard in front of me was unforgivable, just as what he did.

It was unforgivable. It was irredeemable. It was unacceptable, blasphemous and inexcusable. That's why...

"I'll fucking kill you, you bastard..." I threatened.

However, I didn't immediately attack. For some reason, my instincts warn me that he was dangerous. Very dangerous. So I only observed for a while, watching his every move.

And just as every template villain with a trump card, he was composed, as his face twisted in anger.

"Who the fuck are you, huh?!" he said with rage, "how did you get here?!"

He seemed to be confused, but when he saw the collar on my neck, he suddenly smiled. "I see..."

"So you are that bitch's Warslave." he added.

I narrowed my eyes at his description of milady, as I could feel bloodlust leaking from my body. I'll say it again; I'll never forgive this guy.

I quickly pointed the mana cannons that I had been charging ever since earlier at him, and fired. For an instant, I saw him panic when he saw the cannon, but as expected, he had countermeasures in place.

A blinding flash lit up the surroundings, and the piece of shit took full brunt of the cannon shot. However...

"Phew...now that was scary," he spoke in a carefree tone of voice, but his pale face said otherwise, "is that all you got?"

I grit my teeth. I didn't know how he blocked it, nor did I know what he used. It wasn't in the data I received from Isabelle, and she was for some reason, offline. I can't contact her, nor Quanta.

What the hell is going on?!

"Tch." I clicked my tongue in irritation. I didn't know I had this habit, so it must be some aftereffect from the experience injection, huh?

The piece of shit... Ashier, was it? Well, no matter. I'm gonna call him piece of shit forever.

He smiled when he saw me hesitate. It was disgusting.

"Oh? What's wrong?" he asked in a mocking tone, "where'd all the earlier bravado go?"

"Shut up."

"Well, too bad. I'm not gonna shut up," he shrugged, "and you can't do anything about it."

It seems this guy just knew how to piss me off so I shot another round of the mana cannons at his face, but he still came out unscathed. Albeit with a pale face.

Seriously, what the hell is going on... I don't think it's possible for a human to take a mana cannon shot head-on, so he really has a trump card. He's not running away either, so he should also have something he is betting on to take me down.

But somehow, I don't like a the way he's looking at me. Or more specifically, my Mobile Armour...

He grinned, "Quite an interesting toy you have there," he then took out a button, "mind if I take it?"

My eyes widened, as I instantly jumped from my position the moment he pressed it. A beam of transparent white light fell down from the ceiling into the position I once stood. A sense of danger welled up in me as the piece of shit then spoke, "Oh? Not bad," he then took out some sort of headpiece, and wore it, "but what about this?!"

After he spoke, my instincts flared once again as I immediately ducked, avoiding a laser beam that passed overhead.

My eyes scanned over the place of impact for an instant, and saw a melted line of metal and bricks, as well as a crevice that indicated that it passed through.

I paled. If that had hit me, I would have been cleanly sliced into two. However, I didn't have enough time to catch my breath, as the piece of shit spoke once more, "There's more where that came from!!"

I ran out of the room as my instinct guided, and maneuvered movements I never thought possible. It I were to describe it, it was Attack on Titan-esque movements, as the mini thrusters pushed me in mid-air.

I narrowly avoided three incoming lasers, as I then hid behind a wall. However, it seems that the piece of shit had methods of tracking my location as another laser beam passed overhead as I lowered my head.

Where the fuck are these coming from?! Shit, I never heard of these being here!!

Somehow, the assaults paused for a while, but it then resumed their shots as I once again moved around. However, I think I can see through what that piece of shit was planning now.

'He's trying to gain distance!'

Damn it! I admit it's a basic strategy in RTSes, but I knew I'd be screwed the moment he created distance. I'd have no way of getting to where he is, and I'll be in constant barrage from the lasers. Fuck!

Another barrage came, wrecking havoc around the entire workshop, as it melted through everything it passed through. It was getting worse and worse each moment.

'Damn it, I have no choice but to use that!'

I've never really piloted an Ark before, and so I didn't know if I can control it properly. It was a completely different model than what I knew from the experiences injected into me.

'But it's not like a have a choice, right?!'

And so, I grit my teeth, and risked it all. Let's just hope it at least has Photon Deflector Coating on its armour.

After a barrage of lasers went through, I took it out of the interdimensional bracelet. And the next moment...

... a 20 meter behemoth of an Ark, a Grand Ark Masterpiece Unit appeared in the midst of the wrecked workshop.
