"You're late, Jason Howler!" said the Young Knights Instructor Florence, who had a reputation for being the toughest and most difficult instructor in the entire Pardour Knight Academy.
"Sorry, Ma'am. I was on my way and there was a kid being bullied so I tried to—" Jason tried to explain but was cut rudely by Florence.
"Save it! Join the others but this must not happen again! Is that clear?!!" Florence roared.
"Yes Ma'am!," Jason quickly replied and immediately rushed towards another group of kids attending the Academy as well.

Instructor Florence started speaking. "Listen up! You all should be privileged to be here today as the shortlisted students from the exams we held last year. This means that you are exceptional individuals with special abilities."
She continued, "However, as it has been in Pardour tradition for three centuries, we are selecting only twenty of the seventy of you here today. So don't chicken out. Understand?!"
"Yes Ma'am!" the students replied in unison.
Hearing that they would be shortlisted again gave Jason goosebumps but after his encounter today, he became more confident than ever.
"Now before we continue, we have a special visit. Joining us from the Bergeves Empire of the Vampires, may I present Lord Damascus IX and his son and transfer student of our Knight Academy, Lord Vincent," Florence announced.
Immediately she finished, a red carriage driven by four black strong horses pulled over at the entrance.
As the students wondered who was in the carriage, it opened and a young boy with grey hair wearing a black robe and a golden medallion around his neck, accompanied by a tall handsome man got down.
