Chapter 7 - Chapter 6. The elf's wisdom

Slowly opening my eyes I could make out the figures of three people. My mother, father and Zack were sitting around me while I lay on their bed. Sitting up instantly once I realised my body was okay I asked "Laura?! Is Laura safe?" I asked at no one in particular. "Calm down Alex. Look shes right here." My mother stated as she pointed towards a sleeping baby elf in my crib. A wave of relief hit me as I flopped back onto the bed. "Alex I think we need to talk." My father stated in a serious yet concerned tone. "okay." I replied. Unable to make eye contact with anyone since Zack had left the room I averted my gaze to the floor when my father spoke. "Alex, are you okay?" That surprised me since I was sitting in front of them. Then I realised that my body had changed for the better. My ears resembled an elf's ears more than usual and I was able to talk. "I am fine, the changes in my body are due to my accepting the elf women's soul into my consciousness." I stated calmly. "We aren't talking about that my boy, were talking about how your mind feels. You just killed grown men remember." My mother said. "I know I did but they deserved to die, how dare they enslave innocent women and children against their will!" My eyes flared with mana at my mother and father leaving them shocked. "Calm down Alex, are you sure your okay? You took on a big burden." "I am fine mother and father. Is there anything else we should discuss?" I asked. "Yes there is. What are we going to do about Laura?" "What do you mean? Aren't we going to take care of her since I promised her mother?" "It is a bit more complicated than that since I know of her lineage." My mother said. "She is of the royal bloodline and this child in particular has incredible magic. The royal family are scum who do care for their country but, they prioritise keeping the throne and having a strong lineage. They will come for her." My mother said with concern, fear and a hint of anger. My head began to spin as the world went black.

[Sylvie Synx POV]

Concerned for my safety I tried to move but to no avail. A warm sensation began to envelop my body as memories that weren't my own but the elf women's. "Lady Sylvie, your father wants to see you now." An elven maid said to me as I walked through a luxurious hall towards a giant wooden door. The guards opened the door and bowed to me. I proceeded through the door before bowing to my father. "Hello father, what would be the reason you have called me today?" I said respectfully. "Sylvie my daughter, how goes your body?" my father said while looking at my stomach with an unloving but pride smile. "My body is faring well with the pregnancy. Thank you for your concern." "Good, give me a healthy boy so that he will achieve great things!" He said. "Yes I will try. Good day father." I said as I bowed and walked out of the chamber. My vision turned to black and then to that of a drunken elven man that I recognised was Sylvie's father. "Sylvie I am disappointed in you. You will be disowned and sold to slave traders along with your bastard child!" The voice boomed. The elf's fear began to overcome her as she fell to her knees. It was not fear for herself but for her child instead. "Hateful!" I screamed but no words came out. My vision turned black again and I was not met with another memory but instead Sylvie herself. "Hello child, we meet again." She spoke softly and soothingly. My anger rose to a boiling point and then left my body as she hugged me. I began to cry and weep only to stop when I realised I was crying. "It's okay to cry child. Children shouldn't have to be angry, happy all the time. People need to feel lot's of different emotions in order to truly be content." She said. "I know, but it's so sad when I see you and I can't take it." I whimpered. "I know, but that isn't what i'm here to talk to you about. I will leave you with my knowledge in light arts, plant arts, wind arts and Hero arts as well as a 'will'. Wills aren't just an ideology but power. The saying of 'Knowledge is power' is only partly correct. Knowledge is the source of evolution, but it is how we use that knowledge that determines how we evolve." "You are truly wise for your age." I said. Sylvie chuckled softly as she patted my head. "A will must be integrated into the mana core in order to be usable. Wills can bring knowledge that automatically unlocks your mana levels to new heights or grants a specific ability to help the user. The power of the will depends on two things. Firstly, the person who bestows the will's strength is taken into account when deciding the wills power. Lastly, the person who receives the will's potential is taken into account. Will's don't stay at the same level from when you received them. The stronger the users potential is the more it can grow alongside the user. My will will hopefully help you protect my child and your life." Sylvie said with a caring tone. "Thank you." I said while holding back tears. "My child, please treasure your life and protect those around you while living life to it's fullest!". She said as she began to disappear.

I burst out crying as the sensation of knowledge flooded into my body. With all her remaining strength she touched my shoulder and an immense pain ran through my body as white lines engraved themselves beneath my skin. "Goodbye my child." She said. Snapping back into reality I had burst into crying and my mother and father were holding me. "Whats wrong my boy?" My father asked with concern. "It doesn't matter if they will come for my little sister, I will protect her with my life." I said. Zack entered the room as he had sensed my intent. "Alex, we must continue with your training. Now let us go." Zack said as we walked out of the room.
