I draw a shaky breath and look him in the eye. "What are you?" I ask quietly. "Why don't you come and find out" he says with that same arrogant look floating in his eyes. I knew I should've been scared, I should've looked away but I was mesmerized.
A flicker of purple dashed across his large orbs. I leaned forward unconsciously as he watched me quizzically; with mild apprehension. "You know -" "Hey! What are you doing over here?!" a guard had interrupted his thought. Said guard came and yanked my arm. "Let me go! You're hurting me!"
If the guard heard me at all he did not show it. He pulled me again and tried to get me to move. He clutched onto my left arm which now felt disjointed and I was in immense pain. I felt tears welling up. "Please let go!" I cried.
Bang
Bang
Bang
When I heard the deafening sound I got quiet - forgetting the pain in my shoulder. The guard, looking just as frightened, turned around slowly to investigate. The guard walked toward the quieting sound looking pale and sweaty. It got eerily quiet. We stopped. Then.. we heard the sound of glass shattering. The guard began to panic, looking around the room frantically. He let go of me and started thinking about his own safety.
For some reason, the lights that lit up the old, dimly lit hallway, chose this exact time to go out. The sound of a few bulbs popping filled the chilly air. The guard took out his flashlight and grabbed my forearm. "Lets go." he said. I grimaced not only could I feel the sweat on his palms but he'd also managed to grab my arm even tighter this time.
We made it about a good ten feet before we heard it. "Let Her Go." an inhuman voice said.
