Roaming around an empty field, Gabriel was concerned about how unusual the place was.
"(The people should be gathering together... Hmm?)" - Gabriel
He suddenly saw many darkened spots, they looked like they were burnt. Everything was quiet in an unordinary way. He shouted out loud:
"ALTHEA? LEON! HELLO!?"
But all he got was the echoes of his voice.
He was breathing hard, he was afraid that his friends were truly gone. Suddenly, from behind, a tall man approached. He had the full body of a man, but with a half-horse attached to his rump. Despite being disgusted by his looks, Gabriel asked what had happened to the place. The man replied:
"Nothing left. Because of you, every single man had perished."
Gabriel wasn't mad, nor sad. His eyes were straight, not even wet. As his inner self had already been desperate and expected death. Nothing but an empty soul. Yet, he regretted:
"Am I too late?"
The man turned over and was about to go away. But Gabriel went close and held his shoulder:
"Where do you think you are going? Tell me, who are you?"
The man then took a long sighed and said in a pale voice:
"Do I need an introduction? Oh right, no one would ever remember me."
"What do you mean?" - Gabriel
"Chiron... that is the name of the man who was forgotten and kicked out of his family. He was useless, he was weak, incomparable to other siblings. I, however, would rather go by Iron. I live and hide simultaneously." - Iron
"Was Chiron you? Can you please tell me more?" - Gabriel
"Please? I have never heard of that word before. Why do you want to know more?" - Iron
"Because I know your feeling right now. I may not understand well about your past, but I know there is hope for your family, they trust in you. It is your feeling that you are fighting with. No parents would abandon their children." - Gabriel
"You are extremely naive. I only came to inform the truth, not storytelling." - Iron
"Then tell me, how did you survive?" - Gabriel
"... Only the weak dies." - Iron
"HEY, before you leave, may I ask a question?" - Gabriel
Afterward, Iron slowly stepped away. Gabriel found it disturbing about the disappearance of the citizens. Iron was the first victim to his mind, but on second thought, Iron didn't seem to do much. He sat down, head on the knees, thinking about his friends in silence. Soon he had thought about two goals.
A shadow lurked behind a tree nearby. He was starring at Gabriel with a frightening smile. At the same moment, Anubis appeared behind. He put Geb down and told him not to move. Anubis hopped on one of his rings and flew to the shadow. He tried his best not to make a single noise. Having transformed the other ring into a crook, Anubis was readied for an attack. But as soon as he got close, the shadow had already been faded away. From behind, the same shadow appeared and it turned into a man who had an eternal blue flame on his head, he then quietly said:
"The moment you tried to attack Hades, you have been killed."
Anubis wasn't given enough time to react, he was punched to the spine. Geb had seen everything and he was on his way to rescue Anubis. But then, he heard a soft voice of a woman, she was calling him through the air. As he turned, he saw a mysterious shiny stone on the sand. As curious as he was, he was deafened to hear anything else and slowly approached the thing in unconscious happiness. Anubis had almost felt the punch was going through him. The ring which was under his feet flew through Hades' legs quickly and made him fall. Then ring came back to Anubis' hand.
"Impressive." - Hades
Hades was as tall as Anubis and had minimal dressing. But he appeared to be very old, with wrinkled skin and unsteady teeth. He moved his hands in a circle and formed a long dark blade lit on black fire. While Anubis could create two crooks and with a spear on their end. Hades continued his smile and said:
"Why do we not start introducing ourselves?"
"I do not understand a single word you are saying." - Anubis
"An outsider? Interesting." - Hades
Both rushed into each other and attacked left to right. Hades swung his blade from the top, the Anubis blocked the attack with two crooks. But he started to struggle to stand.
"Forget how bravery you are, human. I, Hades, am the God of Death." - Hades
"Keep your mouth shut. CROOKS OF DOOM!" - Anubis
The head of the crooks grew a fast running saw. Two of them had cut through Hades' blade. As Hades was being pushed down, the saws had cut Hades' forehead horizontally. But there was no blood, only smoke came out of his wound. The flame on his head began to lit greater. Suddenly, Hades laughed menacingly:
"You... You are something... BUT ARE YOU IMMORTAL?" - Hades
As soon as Hades stood up, he immediately turned into a shadow and moved to the other side. He tossed a smaller blade, aiming at Anubis' head. Anubis quickly noticed and stabbed him in the eye with the spear part of the crook. Anubis was in total shock as Hades' weapon had gone through his shoulder. While Anubis was screaming to his wound, Hades had reappeared next to Anubis and gave him a strong punch into the face. Gabriel then heard a loud noise, he was shocked to see Anubis lying next to him. He quickly stood up and seek for the enemy. Then he saw an unusual man walking like a drunk. Anubis warned Gabriel that it was Hades. Gabriel asked whether he'd stay alive.
"I will... be fine. My body will be healed." - Anubis
Gabriel and Hades then met face to face. That moment, Hades had grown twice the size he was before. He madly said:
"Gabriel Aimilios, [laugh] that is such an embarrassing way to hide your true self, Typhos. It is unbelievable that one would disguise as a normal human and live along as if nothing had ever happened." - Hades
"I guess you know me well. Then I have nothing to hold back on you!" - Gabriel
Gabriel ran towards Hades while Hades giggled:
"Show yourself already. Humans have no chance of fighting m-" - Hades
Gabriel launched himself into Hades' belly and pushed him down, leaving him in surprise. Gabriel then tried to punch but Hade grabbed him up in the mid-air and threw him forcefully to the ground.
"ARE YOU MAD?" - Hades
"Get your word right, I may be a human, but I was also a warrior." - Gabriel
Gabriel slowly got up and had made Hades once again shock. While Gabriel wounds were healing, he painfully said:
"The mad person here... is you." - Gabriel
"You have not transformed yet, but how could you stand against that damage?" - Hades
"People are scared of you, hence they die. But when they are not? Remember me." - Gabriel
"I..." - Hades
That sentence had hit Hades' sanity. He then unleashed one of his attacks:
"THE UNDEAD!"
Suddenly, the area around Gabriel started to shake. Many skeletons had risen from the underground, they seemed like they were burnt horribly as seen in their dark look. In the meantime, Hades had turned into a shadow and faded away. Tens of slim skeletons were approaching Gabriel, some had weapons. But there was confidence in Gabriel, they weren't a threat to him. He started knocking out one who held a hammer, the skeleton quickly shattered. But after a few seconds, the bones reunited. No matter how many times he tried to attack, they remained the same. Gabriel was then thought of breaking the skull instead. He quickly grabbed the hammer and smashed each skull right to left. He succeeded in killing some skeletons. But fighting with a hammer was too slow, he was soon overwhelmed by them. Many skeletons had tried their best to lock him in place by strength. One which was holding was a sword rushed into Gabriel. Yet, he had no fear. Along with a smirk on his face, he challenged them to do it quickly. Suddenly, the skeleton was fulfilled with water, it was lifted and banged to the ground repeatedly. Gabriel smiled to know the one who saved him was Geb. He was glad:
"Geb! You are here!"
"Hello, Gabriel." - Geb
Geb then flushed the other skeletons away. One of them got launched onto Anubis, which woke him up. Anubis was terrified for a moment:
"What happened?"
"Oh, you are awake. Geb just landed here!" - Gabriel
"Get out!" - Anubis
He said to the skeleton as he pushed it away. Anubis slowly stood up, said hello to Geb. Despite the confusion, he was happy that everyone was still alright.
"So, what is our plan now?" - Geb
"We have yet to find the cause of the incident. Poseidon can only control water, I can tell Hades is a death God. Who could have struck those lightning?" - Gabriel
"Wait, I can see a connection between two place's God." - Anubis
He then explained how Greek and Egyptian gods are related.
"Do you agree, Geb?" - Anubis
"Huh? Oh yes, yes I do." - Geb
"(Why does he have such a strong Greek accent...) Anyway, there was a man who told me the one who stood behind was currently at Sparta king's palace. I shall guide you the way. Hopefully, we will be able to find him." - Gabriel
"Watch your back, the enemies may still be alive." - Geb
"Thanks for reminding us." - Anubis
"My pleasure..." - Geb
Geb suddenly slowed down. He summoned a lengthy bow and arrow, readied to shoot Anubis. The arrowhead illustrated the heart symbol, which was made out of copper. Anubis turned to ask whether Geb needed a ride:
"Hey- WHAT ARE YOU-"
"GET OUT!" - Gabriel
Gabriel had quickly jumped in and pushed Anubis aside. But the arrow had hit the side of his head. Anubis screamed in panic. Geb stared at Anubis:
"My arrows contain a liquid that can kill a normal human brain. Now, I have to kill you before he wakes." - Geb
"Geb, what are you talking about? Where did you get that bow? - Anubis
Despite his words, Geb continued to shoot many more arrows. Anubis tried to dodge until one of the arrows scratched his cloth.
"Fight me, are you scared?" - Geb
"You left me no choice... DEATH RING" - Anubis
Anubis was quickly stunned as his weapons were far from him. He tried to get them by force but Geb gave him no more time and attacked. Anubis decided to run away while carrying Gabriel on his shoulder. As the arrows were shot, they hit Gabriel instead.
"I am so sorry, Gabriel, but I am going to use you as a shield!" - Anubis
As Geb noticed the trick, he flew up by splashing water to the ground.
"You are not going anywhere!" - Geb
He quickly got past Anubis. As he stopped the water, he took out an arrow and was going to stab Anubis when he reached the ground. But while doing so, Anubis had already noticed and ran in the opposite direction. Geb was in total shock, he started flying again. But it was too late. He crashed to the ground and had some minor injuries. Geb slowly stood up and shot another arrow furiously. While Anubis was running, Gabriel woke up. He was surprised to see the world upside down:
"Huh, what? Where am I? WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" - Gabriel
"Oh good, you are awake. Listen, I have a plan that is-" Anubis
He hadn't finished his sentence and the arrow had hit Gabriel's throat, making him lose consciousness again. Anubis moaned:
"REALLY!?" - Anubis
Despite everything, Anubis had a hard time running as the land was full of cracked rocks. He complained:
"I would rather run on the sand under an extreme heat than this."
But then he had an idea. Knowing that he was being chased by Geb, he bowed and grabbed a rock, then threw it behind. He didn't know whether it hit Geb or not. As he grabbed too many rocks, he accidentally dropped Gabriel. But at that moment, he couldn't care more, he knew he had to run. On the other side, Geb was flying with water. He showed a smug on his face because he knew throwing stuff like that wouldn't work. But when he got closer, he was unaware and was hit by a rock in the face. Geb fell once again. Despite his bow being broken in half, he didn't give up. He flew faster and faster and Anubis was out of stamina. Geb reached out his hands and planned to grab Anubis' neck. He laughed:
"You can not get out of my reach again!" - Geb
Suddenly, Anubis kneeled at the last second, leaving Geb speechless. Unexpectedly, Geb crashed into a tree in front. After a moment, he got his focus back but was confronted by Anubis. He said in a friendly way:
"Hey, Anubis! We are friends for ages! You know that this was a joke, right?" - Geb
"Yeah... Whoever you are, you got spirit. But I have to say... Geb is my grandfather." - Anubis
"What?" - Geb
A crook flew to Anubis' hand and he smacked it to Geb's head.
Inside Geb's mind, he looked around him in confusion and found himself surrounded by pink smoke. He felt a surprisingly satisfying atmosphere, it made him feel sleepy. Then, a beautiful woman came to him, she calmly said:
"Dear boy, are you lost? I, Aphrodite, will guild your home~" - Aphrodite
Geb's eyes then had already been tiring. Aphrodite knew Geb had slept, a creepy smile was visible on her face. She was going to take out his heart by hand. As she bowed, Geb suddenly mumbled something, Aphrodite wondered:
"What did you say, boy?"
"POISON CLAWS!" - Geb
Geb quickly grew three poisonous claws on the right hand. He stroked them up to Aphrodite's chin forcefully. The smoke around him was soon disappeared. Aphrodite couldn't stand up properly, she only slowly stepped back. She covered her chin while screaming out as the pain was unbearable. Aphrodite then turned to her normal size which was triple the size of Geb. But, he held no fear. She madly shouted:
"YOU MONSTER!"
"You tried to kill me, woman. But you were unarmed. You should have learned my true power." - Geb
"I do not care who you are. DIE!" - Aphrodite
"Do you not know that I have put poison in you?" - Geb
She was running towards Geb, yet, he was standing still.
"No poison can beat me!" - Aphrodite
As Aphrodite reached out her hand tried to take Geb's heart again, she suddenly stopped. Her mouth opened widely, her eyes were blinded. Geb calmly said:
"My poison is cruel for gods only, perhaps you ARE also a god."
"I-" - Aphrodite
She couldn't speak. From her chin, many lines of green rose on her skin. Finally, Aphrodite had fallen under Geb. He then said quietly:
"Heh, I could have killed Gabriel if I wanted to."
Geb finally opened his eyes, Anubis came to him and asked if he was alright.
"I am fine, for now. What has that woman treated you both?" - Geb
"Aphrodite, was she? Not much, if only she knew better about your power." - Gabriel
"I am very glad that you are fine." - Anubis
"Oh, you do not need to treat me like this, I am also a god, I can heal myself!" - Geb
"Heh, this has been and will be the battles of gods only, am I right?" - Gabriel
"You are an exception, though, haha." - Anubis
"Now... we shall continue our journey." - Gabriel
