Five days later Noah finally gets released from the hospital, but he has more on his mind then going home during his return. 'I have two days left and it does seem like the tasks go in order. Not like I can go on a date with someone without confessing to them first.' Noah though with a sigh, glancing out the window as the car entered the neighborhood.
His mom had suggested that he take the rest of the week off of school so the next three days plus a weekend left him with a lot of time to figure out this new system of his. "Hey Nate, what are your plans for the night?"
Nate looked at him with a small frown then smiled, "Why? Didn't get enough of me at the hospital? We can watch a movie together. I'm sure we can start your extra week of Netflix binge off on the right foot."
"Yeah, okay," Noah responded. That wasn't exactly what he had been looking for but hanging out with Nate didn't sound bad. He figured that one night watching TV wouldn't be a bad idea. He did not have Jason's number, and even if he did it would be a little weird to call him out without Nate having been around. Frowning to himself he realized he would need a bit of a plan in order to hang out with Jason without Nate around. Before he could think much more the car pulled up to the house and he bounced out his mom shouting after him to be careful. Well he did just get out of the hospital.
Walking carefully up the stairs to his room with Nate hovering a few steps behind he quickly went to turn on the TV. "You want some popcorn or something?" Nate asked sounding a little awkward. It had been a long time since the two of them had really hung out.
"Sure," Noah needed time to think about how he could follow this plan of his. Picking a movie and waiting for Nate to come back with popcorn or whatever snacks he ended up with he thought about the ways that he could get Jason alone. After a bit he came up with an outline of an idea. He had a close friend David who sometimes came over and played games. He could get Nate to also invite Jason over with the idea of playing a group game that needs four people like Settlers of Catan or Risk. It was rough and he still needed to figure out how to Jason alone but it was doable. Grabbing his phone he sent a quick text, "Hey David, Want to have a game night tomorrow at my house?"
"Sure, I can be over just after school," David texted back.
'Now all I need is for Nate to also invite Jason over for the little game night,' Noah thought as he settled back onto the bed just as Nate walked into the room with a bowl of popcorn and some sodas. "Want to play some games tomorrow?"
The next morning Noah woke up at 10 and laughed out loud thinking about how his brother must have gotten up hours ago despite them staying up until almost 2 watching shows. Slowly he got out of bed and took a long hot shower before going to stand in front of his closet. 'What looks best for asking someone out?' he thought looking over his shirts. Reaching out he grabbed two shirts one, a favorite he often wore and the other a slightly more formal quarter zip that mom always says makes his eyes pop. holding both he walked over to the mirror and frowned at himself before tossing both to his bed and going downstairs to make sure everything else was ready for tonight.
Ten minutes before the guys were going to be there Noah ran back into his room and glared at the two tops before tossing on the quarter zip, before glancing at the mirror and realizing he could just wear both.
