Chapter 271 - CHAPTER 271: Thank You For Being Alive

As they travelled towards Atria Kingdom, Saphira remained unconscious.

But seeing Hunter not worrying at all, the others chose to not worry as well.

So many things have happened, unpredictable ones that caused their emotions to experience so much ups and downs.

Nevertherless after seeing the imperial city from the distance, they couldn't help but to sigh in relief.

Finally one matter will be over, they will finally be able to get over another hurdle thrown at their feet.

A hurdle tha allowed them to grow even more.

After getting to the imperial city, they went straight to the palace and the relief on the face of Elizabeth's parents and brother's faces made even the rest of them to smile.

"We saved another life," Stormie commented.

"Yeah, we did," Willow followed.

The Hydra Kingdom incident caused another shadow in their hearts.

That they were unable to save so many lives.

Followed by the appearance of another batch of dark forces, lives were gone left and right, while they were unable to do anything at all.

Saving one life was already a great relief for them, that even for just a little bit, they didn't let another life to disappear.

Drake stood beside Willow and nodded his head towards her with a smile, she smiled in return.

Felix placed a hand on Stormie's shoulder, feeling accomplished as well. Stormie smiled at him and patted the hand on her shoulder.

She then glanced at Nixon but Nixon remained looking at the family who was crying not far from them.

She pursed her lips and returned her eyes on the family. As she did, Nixon glanced at her and Felix's hand that was on her shoulder.

After that, he looked away.

Hunter was lead to a room upon arrival because of the unconscious Saphira.

"I thank you all for finding her and bringing her back to us," the king said to the rest.

They shook their heads.

"It was our duty to save as many people as we can while we travel," Ridge replied.

The king nodded and arranged for a place for them to rest while they wait for Saphira to wake up.

When she was left alone, Elizabeth chose to go to the room given for Saphira to rest.

"Hello," she greeted Hunter.

Hunter looked at her and nodded before returning his eyes on Saphira.

"Thank you for everything," Elizabeth started.

Hunter didn't reply.

"And sorry for what I have done causing her to be in this state."

Hunter was silent for a bit.

"It wasn't entirely your fault. I also need to apologize to you, your highness, for treating you as someone I know from the past. You are you while she is she, I shouldn't have done that, causing you confusion."

He used the word confusion but Elizabeth knew it wasn't confusion but she had really fallen in love for him.

But now she had completely given up.

She has no fight in this battle, from the very beginning, there is no fight at all.

But because of stubbornness she ended up hurting these two instead.

"It is fine, I left you alone, accepting it on my own. And so the both of us are at fault in that part."

Hunter clasped his hands in front of him as he stared directly at Saphira's face.

"I didn't only hurt her but you as well, please allow me to apologize," he then said.

Elizabeth smiled, she was expecting him to actually ignore her after what had happened to Saphira because of her words but here he was, sincerely apologizing to her.

"Thank you for letting me feel this for the first time."

Hunter turned to her hearing the deeper meaning in her words.

"I took her advise and took courage in remembering everything. And I did, I remember everything."

Hunter looked at her before slowly nodding his head, "I see, congratulations."

"Ridge was right, I am the only one who survived, it is just right that I will keep on remembering them. Because they sacrificed their lives just for me to live."

The reason she was buried under the bodies was because they chose to hide her through their own bodies. With all of them covering her, they wanted for the enemies not to realize that someone else was still alive.

"Their sacrifice was noble that forgetting it is the same as insulting them. I wouldn't want that, I wanted to salute them for it. But without my memories I wouldn't be able to do it. Thankfully, it was you guys whom I met and made me realize so many things."

She walked over beside Hunter while looking at Saphira's sleeping face.

"She told me to take courage, to change the coward me if I remember everything. And watching you all, I do wish to change, to become better. To fight on my own way against the darkness. That is why I am more grateful towards all of you for giving me the chance to change my mind over everything."

Her eyes turned red, she was becoming emotional even though she didn't intend to.

"Hearing that makes me feel proud that we met you as well."

Both of them was shock when they heard her speak.

Very slowly, Saphira opened her eyes.

The glow within it returned to the way it was before she lost her memories.

No.

It seems that it is glowing even more now.

"Live your life to the fullest princess. That will be the greatest gift we could have ever received after meeting you."

Elizabeth blinked but the tears still flowed, she can see that Saphira herself has remembered everything.

"Thank you," she repeated looking at Saphira.

"Thank you," Saphira replied but her words had more emotions in them.

"Thank you for being alive."

Hunter glanced at her but Elizabeth didn't think too much about her words, she was just happy that Saphira was fine and well.

After Elizabeth bid them goodbye.

"Go and call the others, we have no more time, we should erect the barrier in this land," Saphira said to Hunter.
