Chapter 227 - CHAPTER 227: Raise Your Head Knight

As she kept hitting the wall, Hunter had no choice but to use force just to stop her.

Her fists were wounded and bleeding, knowing that she couldn't be healed, he needs to stop her before she receives more damage.

"All of us are at fault here Saphira," he told her as he wrapped his arms around her, locking her on place.

"We have the clues Hunter, we have all the clues. But why? Why did I have to go and be complacent in my duty? Why?"

"I told you it is not only you," he repeated.

He was angry at himself as well but not only him even the rest were feeling the same.

She wasn't the only one who were complacent, all of them were.

And because of the fact that they never met people other than the elite squad who became part of the dark force, it didn't occur to them that the dark lord could be planning this way.

Willow gritted her teeth and sobbed as she bent over and cried in Raizen's chest.

They were just talking the day before, so why? What happened?

Why is he dead now?

He was only talking about spending time when they have a chance so why is his body so called now?

She clutched on his body but could feel the coldness of it.

He was still warm when he held her hand and planted a kiss at the back of it, so why is he cold now?

She cried and cried and cried.

...

After Hunter was able to calm Saphira down, Stormie helped in mending her wound.

Nixon healed the rest of them.

Saphira couldn't actually help in the wounds that Nixon couldn't heal.

She has her limitation, if you fight then you don't heal, if you heal then you don't fight.

If you still push through then you will have to face circumstances.

Hunter gave Reginald a call and reported to him everything that had happened.

"I apologize father, we were unable to do our duties properly. We allowed a whole kingdom to die just like that," his eyes were red.

Reginald could hear in his voice that he was truly devastated.

He glanced at his back and he could see that the rest were the same.

"Where's Saphira," he called.

The one who should be blaming herself the most is the commander, Reginald is very much aware of that.

"I am here, your majesty," she walked over.

"You can't predict everything Saphira no matter how many clues you are able to see. You are not omnipotent, you are also a child. All of you are. It was enough that you stopped them right there and then. That you didn't allow them to kill anyone. That on itself is you saving them."

Saphira lowered her head.

"Raise your head knight," Reginald called.

Saphira did as she was told.

"Line up all of you."

And they did.

"Your duty is to eradicate the darkness but all of you are not obligated to actually save eacha nd every life. There are circumstances that you couldn't possibly anticipate and no one from our empire is blaming you for that. And if the rest of the world were to blame you, then so be it. Come back home and leave them on their own."

They sobbed as they listened to him.

"No matter what don't let this keep you down. You have more things to do and know that more people are surely going to die. That is a fact not all of us would be able to stop."

They cried harder, this is the most death that they have faced ever since they started.

Draco Empire could not compare at all.

This time they had to be the ones to kill these people who were innocent.

"Push through with your plan. The barrier will be created in every land and not every kingdom or empire. Don't push yourselves too hard."

Reginald looked at Saphira specifically, the rest were crying but she wasn't.

She looked like she wants to but couldn't.

"Saphira," he called.

She looked at him.

"You are doing more than enough, I tell you it is more then enough."

She nodded her head butu didn't say a thing.

"Give the whole kingdom a proper burial," he then said.

After that the call ended.

"You go and collect all the bodies, you can feel it right?" Saphira asked Hunter.

He nodded and walked off.

"Prepare your water to clean them up," she said to Nixon.

"The forest behind the inn, I think that is big enough for... for all..."

She cleared her throat, "For all of them, clean that place up and we will hold a proper burial... tonight."

Drake, Stormie, Ridge and Felix left to this task.

Saphira walked over to Willow, who had already asked Nixon to clean raizen's body up.

"He was an orphan," Willow started.

"He has no family here and his friends are gone...as wel..."

She sniffed as tears kept flowing.

"We planned on contacting one another through letters until... we could see each other again..."

Saphira squatted down beside her.

"It hurts... my feelings for him are real... that's why it hurts... it was just a day or two... he was so warm yet now..."

Saphira pulled her and hugged her tight.

"He was just here Saphira, speaking with me... having plans... he's gone..."

Saphira didn't speak and simply carressed her back.

"I..."

"Can he rest in our empire? He really has no home he said... Can my home be his?"

"Of course, no one will stop you. That is why I asked you right?"

"Ah... Waaaaahhhhhh...."

She cried harder and harder until she had fallen asleep.

"I wanted to tell you to be strong..."

She looked up and sighed, "But I don't want to curse you."
