Saphira had tasked Felix to try and understand the ability of another person as they passed it to him.
And since he and Stormie has the best relationship within the group, Saphira made them work together.
She needs to do something else and told Felix she will speak to him about his role once she returns.
So this time around, Stormie and Felix were taking their time to try what she had tasked.
Passing an ability isn't the same as two people simply working together to strengthen their attacks.
It was more like him receiving an ability and controlling it himself.
This is something Saphira came up with at the age of seven, she who loves the library would come up with so many things.
Especially when it comes to increasing their fighting strengths.
As a child the way she takes her responsibility was already way above some the adults.
And so she found something like this.
Compatible powers could actually lend it to one another.
In a fight this isn't ideal because the energy and time used is too long no matter how long they train.
Because of that, this way of fighting was crossed out in the training menu.
But since they aren't using it for a fight, Saphira thought of it as something feasible.
Fire could be strengthened by wind, together with the fact that Stormie has a better relationship towards Felix than the others.
"What are you frowning about?" Drake asked Nixon.
"Am I?" Nixon asked touching his own forehead.
Ridge raised an eyebrow before looking at Drake.
Drake shrugged his shoulders and smiled in defeat.
It seems that there is someone in their group who remained innocent all this time.
Ridge sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder, "It's fine, you will surely be fine once you grow up even more."
"Huh?!?! What the hell are you suddenly talking about? Am I a kid to you?" Nixon rebuked before playing wrestling with Ridge.
"That's enough the two of you. Will you just rest if you want so that you will have more energy to train?" Drake nagged at them.
Trying to use the mana concentration that Saphira made them do is more taxing than any other ttraining they did before.
No wonder Saphira wasn't rushing them in perfecting it.
She knew how tiring it was.
"We're resting, we're resting," Nixon said before he finally let Ridge go.
*****
"Go on and rest, the two of you."
Saphira arrived as the sun was setting, she then told Willow and Stormie to rest.
With one glance she could tell that they had been training for hours already.
They nodded their heads and left her with Felix.
"Do you get the gist of it?" she asked him.
"A bit, but it was really difficult," Felix said honestly.
"It is indeed, in fact your role on this is much more difficult than their's. Listen carefully..."
Felix stood straight like an obedient student ready to listen to the instructions of the teacher.
"Controlling your mana and making sure that it is concentrated to the point that no other natural elements would be in it is draining towards your energy. But controlling someone else's mana and making sure that it remained the same all through out the strength and its concentration is draining towards your mental energy."
With ease, a concentrated fire mana appeared on Saphira's hands.
The representation of the mana that Saphira made them train on is actually in a form of fire that has different colors.
Red for fire, brown for earth, green for woods and so on.
The more concentrated it is the clearer the mana will be.
As children they were taught on how to project their mana, but this projection is more on seeing if their mana has expanded or not.
It starts with a fire on ones hand to becoming a fire surrounding the body.
The bigger it is that they could project the more mana they had.
So when Saphira read from the diary that making the barrier includes the mana of the rest of them, she was glad that they had such a training.
They wouldn't really start from scratch.
Because who would have thought that the simple training just to see their improvement would come into great use today?
It's just that there was a bit of a difference to what they need now.
It wasn't simply projection of mana but that they are to make it as concentrated as possible.
Of course, Felix as one of the leading knights of his kingdom already had this kind of training as well.
But Saphira knowing the difficulty of what he will do made him understand the other person's ability first.
Since she had to do something herself on this day, she had Stormie who has the wind ability to try it out with Felix.
After half a day of trying out, Felix could finally hold the wind ability and move it as he wishes instead of the wish of the caster.
Felix could see that as compared to what Stormie had been showing and what he saw from Willow, Saphira's is the desired condition they are trying to achieve.
The other two wasn't as clear as what he was seeing now.
"You have already perfected it?" he asked in shock.
"As the one leading them, I have to do it faster then them since I need to show them just at what point they are supposed to make theirs."
"Wow, your dedication is seriously..."
Saphira chuckled, "Anyway, what you will really control isn't that of Stormie's or anyone else. It would be mine, we will start with the ability because as you already know, mana is the fuel of abilities."
Abilities are for attacking while mana is what powers them.
Meaning mana could be used as something else and not simply as a fuel for their abilities.
Because it could be identified as a separate entity from the power they use.
