The next day, they found themselves joining the fight against the demonic beasts.
Saphira had woken all of them and made them get ready because they will join the knights of this kingdom in their extermination.
She had left the night before to speak with the king and found that they will still go out for an extermination, morning of the next day.
With a thought she asked if they could join and the king agreed.
He even told her that his son will join so he will be apologizing in advance.
But Saphira wanted this better.
If they look down at them simply because they were children, they would be fine with it.
But no, they were belittled with all the efforts and hard work they placed in their mission.
She can't simply let that go even though she didn't react on the fight earlier that day.
Felix remained distant towards them even after what his father had said.
He will not acknowledge them simply by knowing that they went through something.
What of it?
If they rely on their beasts then what is the use.
Just as they started fighting, he called out for phoenix.
"You are too selfish aren't you?" Saphira spoke near him, shocking him.
She was a bit far from him a while ago but she was suddenly close to him.
"Can't even see that his beast is already too tired and still stubbornly comes out to fight."
Another shock when someone else spoke near him, looking towards the owner of the voice, it was Willow.
"I gave him an advise yesterday, but he seemed to have not taken it in at all," Saphira replied killing another beast.
Drake was looking towards their side and saw that she was using a different sword instead of the heirloom.
"What are you-"
"He is but a proud prince just because he was capable of killing and his beast is one of the rarest and strongest."
Before he could retort to them, Willow interrupted him.
Another beast was coming from above but Phoenix was on another battle.
When Felix released a fire attack, it was quite weak.
But before it reached the beast that will surely take it as nothing, a wind attack came from the side combining with his fire attack.
The combined attacks caused that beast to die instead of simply dying.
"I also advised him to stay away until he recovers."
"And he still didn't listen."
Saphira and Willow spoke one after another.
"Stubborn and selfish," Saphira spoke.
"I will no longer be shock if he were to be injured or those around him," Willow followed.
Felix was distracted by their none ending word attacks that he can barely fight.
"Easily distracted," Saphira said again.
"How will he fight more demonic beasts with that kind of mindset?" Willow followed.
Yet he was left with no rebuke as they fight like they were walking along the park.
All seven of them were fighting without calling out their beasts.
And while they were doing it splendidly, they were also giving support to those surrounding them ensuring that no one is gravely injured.
Just like when the wind attack from Stormie supported his fire to finish of the demonic beast coming from above.
Some beasts were even frozen and when he looked who did it, it was the water ability user Nixon.
"He was water... why..."
"Seems our prince is too shocked that we were capable enough."
"Looking down and belittling us when he haven't seen what we are capable of, isn't this a normal outcome?"
Another bout of words coming from Saphira and Willow.
Looking at them and the rest, he was left with nothing but embarrassment.
He treated them that way because of the misconception that they were strong because of the mythological beasts.
But he was not right at all, they were fighting with their swords and fighting with attacks that were new to all of them.
Just like Stormie who was flying above them or Willow who was using the plants tainted by miasma as if they were part of her ability.
All of them, ability users, were aware that if one is already tainted with darkness, they can't use it like those that were not tainted.
Even though he wanted to rebuke towards Willow and Saphira, he couldn't because even their teamwork was splendid enough.
"You're too slow Nixon, if there are more then surely the rest would be injured before you can heal the one in front of you."
As he was in the thought of seeing them as good, Saphira stopped bullying him and started berating her teammates for their actions.
"I understand!!" Nixon replied.
"Stormie, don't fly too high, how many times should I tell you that we are against a wind ability user? He must be reigning over the air right now. You might be put in danger instead," she called out.
"Willow, don't use those plants too much, you are not yet that well acquainted with them."
"Ridge what the hell is that swinging? If you are tired then get back and give support instead."
"Drake, your metals are taking too long to be retracted, no one can move properly with more obstacles."
"Hunter... yeah you can continue."
The other five wanted to cry, it was only Hunter who was doing great.
"You all have improved tremendously, that is a fact. Be proud of that. Even your teamwork as compared to three months ago, it was now closer to ten years ago," Saphira spoke and gave them encouragement.
Felix was left standing as he watched them.
And then he heard the word ten years ago and Stormie's outburst the day before.
"Our crown prince is not moving, can we have someone get him away from here."
"We don't want another casualty because he was too shock."
Of course, Saphira and Willow didn't forget to bully him still and he was left with embarrassment before he started moving again to attack.
Phoenix was really too tired that he could only return inside him while pitying his host.
