They weren't as how they deem them to be.
Of course, they are children.
Robbed off from every child could have.
Made to face the reality much earlier than they should have.
"Well, I think you will learn lessons after lessons as you keep becoming stronger and stronger," Juno said patting Hunter's shoulder.
"Thank you, sir," Hunter replied with a smile.
Saphira didn't appear even on the next day where the water started changing on the place where the humungous jellyfish was.
"Are we going to split up? There are still some demonic beasts who are inching closer on the other sides," Nixon asked.
The six of them were having dinner as of the moment.
They waited for someone to answer but no one did, not even Hunter who remained silent, eating his food.
There is one thing they realized, now that the beast was starting to move due to the poison, they had forgotten to acquire knowledge regarding the beast.
They haven't even asked those who experienced it first hand.
Saphira was the only one who was there back then and even though the others reported about it, it was not in complete detail.
Drake stood up together with Willow, they went to where those who were attacked and asked about the information.
While watching them, Hunter was thinking.
'If she was here, she would have only one person to ask about it. Have two people to scout the surrounding and if possible check the water itself. And have the rest to check the condition of the other side in order to understand how she will divide the work.'
The past two days, Hunter did his best to think on her shoes.
He was not keen on these kinds of stuffs, he was more of the paper works in the Empire.
Admittedly, this was part of his weakness.
He is strong but he was not as perceptive as Saphira.
One reason she was chosen as the crown princess because she has what he lacks.
Now that she left everything and let them do as they please, he was starting to see a bigger picture than what he usually sees.
'I guess that is the best course right now. But since she had specifically said that they do what they think is the best, I will let them do it as well,' Hunter thought before standing up.
He had decided to check the other areas in order to prepare for the upcoming fight.
Saphira was watching from afar, without anyone noticing her.
She was able to hide her presence well that not even mythological beasts could detect it.
'It seems that the crown prince knew what should be done,' Vermilion Bird commented.
'Well, he wasn't doing it back then because it was part of my job. Now with this sudden change, he started thinking differently as well,' she replied.
'But I am shock you actually ended up that mad,' Vermilion Bird commented after a while.
'I already told you I am getting tired as well. It's not like I have vast amount of patience to accept everything that was thrown at me,' she answered.
Of course she has no plans on really leaving everyone behind, she will still watch closely and ensure that no one were to die.
But that doesn't mean she will interfere with the battle.
Even though that beast is strong, she knew they would be able to handle it very well.
There is just one thing the group is really lacking, something she noticed on these two days.
'If you are to come out, will you be able to keep hiding your presence?' she asked after a while.
'I can as long as I don't use too much of my power. The others won't feel me,' Vermilion Bird replied.
'Then, tomorrow...'
The very next day, the humongous jelly fish finally brought out its tentacles after being uncomfortable due to the poison.
The other six were already present.
Juno and Leon were the same.
Some knights were dispatched to places that Hunter felt would be troublesome if left alone.
"Get ready," Juno called to those who are with them.
It was not an easy battle since it was a water battle, at the same time there are other beasts attacking as well.
The five of them fought with the gigantic beast together with their mythological beasts, while Hunter fought with the other beasts together with the other knights.
He had asked Qirin to check the other side and give them help.
The battle took about half an hour before they were finally able to get to the main body of the demonic jelly fish with the help of Nixon's water protection that allowed them to breath under water.
As the battle underwater progresses, Hunter noticed something.
He cursed when he realized what it was.
Looking back at the water battle, he thought of a different plan.
'With the depth of the water, Black tortoise could have willed the water to move in order for the main body to be seen by everyone. With the water gone, the other mythological beasts could battle it freely. Then the hosts are no longer needed in there.'
He gritted his teeth in defeat, 'We all have the same thought, the beast is strong, we need to fight together. But we are strong too...'
He felt like cursing over and over again.
They were thinking too much.
Saphira could have thought of a plan that is profecient and not as a failure as this.
His mind was on the fact that this is a battle but Saphira's mind was on the fact that this is a battle with darkness.
There is great difference on those two.
A battle like the wars he was used to, everyone have strategies but demonic beasts were simply blindly fighting.
No strategy needed.
Not even their brains are used.
Hunter truly realized on this day that he was really not cut off to be the one leading the main fight against darkness.
