Chapter 55 - CHAPTER 55: Just Want To Leave This Place

Seeing them taking on the rest, she returned her sword to its sheath and waited for them to be finished.

Once they were done together with the cleaning up.

"Do you really not wish to hold on to your knighthood?"

They all looked away, unwilling to bend for her.

"Good, very well. I may let you speak as you please but as a commander, I can't let your diligence slide. Your punishment shall be given accordingly," she said with authority.

That's the only time they finally dropped their attitude.

"Commander!!"

They called her as she started walking away.

"We were wrong please," they continued following her.

"You were wrong?"

They felt shiver run down their spine when she turned to look at them and her red orange eyes were cold.

"With this little mistake of yours, if it weren't just those few demonic beast. Do you think you all are still standing properly right now?"

If there are more of those beasts then surely they would still be on battle and some might already be injured.

"No matter how small the beast is, you must never let your guard down. You think they are weak because they are small or because you have battled the same specie before."

She will never tolerate these kind of people.

Those who does not take their duties seriously when all they have is jealousy.

"You will never know what improvement they could have or what changes have happened in their bodies. No matter what a demonic beast will always be a demonic beast."

They were all looking at her adn bowing their heads but she can see that they weren't repentant at all because she was the one facing them.

"Your punishment will not be rescinded no matter how many times you bow."

She turned once again, ready to return to where she stood a while ago.

"If that so then we will not hold back!!" one roared before the ten of them jumped at her.

She clicked her tongue before turning with her sword together with its sheath.

They are fighting without the sheaths of their swords, yet here she was fighting them with the sheath on.

She laughed bitterly, it will be self denfense and no one could complain because she was talking about their punishment when they jump on her.

"You think I am the commander because of my position, that the Emperor is trying to raise my image? You think all those who I battled went easy on me?"

She laughed as she evaded another attack with ease.

"Don't belittle me."

With fluid movements she got herself behind their back before making them unconscious instead.

It is better this way because she will have to move lesser and they wouldn't be injured too much either.

One was left and the rest were already unconscious.

"Insubordination together with neglect of duty. You really are throwing your knighthood away," she said sharply before pointing ehr sword at him.

"Do you want to sleep as well in a more painful way? Or do you want to report for a change of shift?"

As she asked this, she pointed her sword at him.

He could only gulp seeing as they were truly belittling her by attacking when all along she can easily overpower them.

And the fact that she spoke of it being more painful for him, he knew she was being true and could only shake his head vigorously.

"I- I'll report everything with honesty," he declared running to their room base.

Saphira sighed before returning her sword to its holder.

She looked up at the night sky and anotehr sigh escaped her lips.

"I just want to leave this place, a place where no one knows me," she tiredly spoke to herself.

"Just a bit more, hmmm?"

She span around and there she saw her parents and grandfather standing.

"What are you doing here?" she asked in shock.

"And you heard what I just said," she added while scratching her cheek.

Carmilla smiled before walking over to hug her and pat ehr at the back.

"You were really doing everything you can. Once everything settles here, you will be leaving for the other Empires and Kingdoms," she said.

"We're sorry you have to go through this every single day," she added.

Until now, Saphira was still unaware that they already knew the tragedy she faced after everyone fell unconscious.

"But you can leave and no one will stop you. You can leave this suffocating place and still be able to do your duty. It is dangerous but it doesn't matter. That is better than you being looked down and insulted over and over again in this place."

"Mom," was all Saphira could said.

"We brought your sword," Archie raised her newly made sword.

It wasn't as detailed as the family swords but it has the feiry look in it.

The handle looked like it was in fire.

"Why does it have to be the three of you?" she asked accepting her sword.

"We want to test it with you after all," Asherton raised his sword and Archie was the same.

When they got the sword that day, Archie was planning on bringing it alone.

But Carmilla spoke that she felt like she wanted to see Saphira.

And her mother's instinct was right, Saphira was never the one who complain to them.

She always hold it to herself.

Tackling her emotional battles on her own.

Even raynisha was worried for her because of this trait.

She laughed and joke around, she plays around but when it comes to being hurt?

She always face it by herself without showing any sign of it to others.

It was squeezing their heart tightly when they heard her already tired voice.

That she just want to leave, maybe to even escape from this place much worse than hell.

A place that should be called home was but a hell for her.

What good is it to let her stay here longer?
