"No matter what your position is, no matter how much you portray yourself in front of the rest of the world. There is no harm in crying when you are too sad, your majesty," Saphira then said.
The tears Felissa didn't want to let go, came flooding out.
She was such a young one but her words gave Felissa too much of an impact, she could only cry.
She really was at her limit already.
And when she thought back, Saphira sat down at a window that is not far from where she usually stays that she could see her even if she were not to get close.
She cried even more and hugged Saphira tighter at the thought of how sensible this child was.
She accompanied her in silence, without flattering words an adult usually have or complaints a child would do when they get bored.
She just sat there, looked for something to do and then stayed quiet.
It took a while before she finally stopped crying.
At the same time, Saphira still being a child got bored to the point that she had fallen asleep while Felissa was still crying.
"You could have complained," Felissa chuckled helplessly.
She was sensible that she didn't complain no matter how long Felissa hugged her, she simply decided to sleep.
Between the sisters, it was Saphira who got the talent of falling asleep anywhere from her ancestors.
"You are he- What happened?"
Just as she carried Saphira, Reginald came just like always and saw her carrying the little girl while her eyes were puffy.
"Let's just say we had a girl's talk," Felissa smiled before handing Saphira to him.
"I know her grandfather picks her up, I can't show my face like this. Could you bring her to him?"
Reginald slowly nodded his head before looking down at Saphira and then back at Felissa.
Confusion feeling him but he will just ask later when it was just the two of them.
Because he knew that Felissa had been holding back all this time, he knew that is why he tends to come here at this time to be with her.
He heard she was being accompanied by Saphira from time to time but didn't expect this scene now.
"And Reginald?"
He looked at her while they walked out of the library, waiting for what she will say.
Felissa calls him by his name when there is only the two of them.
"Does this kid know that she was a candidate?" she asked.
Reginald thought back and shook his head, "No, I don't think she knows."
"Then that is the more reason that I will vote for her to be my daughter-in-law," Felissa smiled.
Reginald was pleasantly surprised because it has been a while since she smiled this way.
"For you to choose her, is it the reason why you cried?" he asked.
"Partly," she answered.
If Saphira being sensible is the only reason then she wouldn't survive in the palace.
"But also, were you aware that she had been studying the history of darkness? One of the most difficult one to study in the palace?" Felissa replied.
"The history? I took that up when I reached the age of 18," he replied with shock.
"Yes, and here are her notes. Some were words she couldn't understand while others were thoughts about the matter. I wanted to ask her about it but as you can see she had already fallen asleep."
She handed the papers to Reginald and he could see that it was truly the handwriting of a child.
It was messy but you can see that they were not only some doodles a child would do but it was a real writing for what she had thought about what she read.
"Quite amazing indeed, she'll surely come again. I will try to understand what she is trying right now. For now..."
Felissa brushed off Saphira's hair that was covering her face.
"Bring her to her grandfather, for her to rest."
Reginald nodded his head, before heading out to where Asherton usually waits for Saphira.
"What happened? For her to have the honor of being carried by the Emperor," Asherton said when he saw them together.
"She was tired and had fallen asleep," Reginald answered.
There are no one around to hear them that formalities were forgone. Reginald spoke with Asherton in a way that shows that Asherton is older than him.
"I apologize for that, I shall berate her for falling asleep in the library," Asherton shook his head.
He took Saphira from Reginald.
"No, she was able to help that falling asleep is fine. Thank you," Reginald replied thanking the aslept Saphira.
"What happened?" Asherton asked.
"It seems that Felissa have already chosen who Hunter will be marrying," Reginald answered.
Asherton's eyes went wide, "Are you saying that..."
"But of course, the children will still have a say about it. The engagement will push through while they are young, as for when they become adults. We will leave the final decision to them."
Reginald just wants to shut the officials up in pestering him to have the crown prince engaged at such a young age.
It was because Hunter was the crown prince that they have their eyes on him, Gideon was still being let off.
They will surely look for a bride for him once he comes of age.
Being the brother of the crown prince.
Reginald couldn't help but to massage his temples.
They were children but those greedy bastards were so eager to let their daughters be married to them.
"Difficulties of the royalty," Asherton commented seeing his troubled look after the mention of the engagement.
"It would have been your difficulty if not for that trait of your family," Reginald laughed.
Asherton followed, it was the truth.
When the votation came for the one to lead teh Empire.
It was Qirin and Vermilion bird that was voted for it.
It was a tie but Vermilion Bird emphasized to the rest just how lazy his hosts are.
A trait that went on for generations.
Because of that Qirin was left to handle these matters.
