"HUH?"
The young man was shocked, "You're my creator?".
The double nodded, "Let me introduce myself. My name is Arthur Night. Pleased to make your acquaintance", he said with a slight bow.
"Uh. Okay? So are you God?", The young man asked suddenly.
Arthur stared at him. Suddenly he laughed, "No I'm not God dear Seventeen. I was a human and now I'm just a consciousness. I'm like you in a way", he said with a smile.
"Like me huh. Wait, you're calling me Seventeen. Is that my name?", the young man asked. Arthur nodded.
"Seventeen. It sounds weird but why is my name a number?", he murmured. "We'll come to that soon", Arthur replied. "Please take a seat", he said gesturing at the couch again.
Seventeen sat opposite Arthur. "I know you have a lot of questions. I can answer some of them", Arthur said as he poured coffee.
"Alright. So what did you mean by being my creator?", Seventeen asked immediately.
"That's because I created you", Arthur said, "You are an android".
"I'm a what?", Seventeen almost dropped his cup in surprise.
"Let me explain. You are a marvel of nanotechnology and magic energy. Just like how humans are made of cells, you are made of nanoparticles down to your bones. But you are different from other artificial intelligence. You have consciousness or should I say, kind of like a soul".
Seventeen put down the cup and looked at his hand, "Damn, no wonder I didn't feel any pain when I hit my head. I assume that blue blood is vital for my functioning?", Arthur nodded, "But what did you mean by soul?", Seventeen asked.
"Well before that I have a question. What do you think about parallel universes?".
"Aren't they universes that are similar to our own?", Seventeen asked.
"Indeed. So if there are parallel universes then there could also be parallel versions of a person in them. But for all these parallel versions, there has to be a 'first' version. Well, I am the first version. So you can call me Arthur Prime to avoid confusion", Arthur said with his hand on his chest.
"I can't believe you said that with a straight face. And why do you look so proud? That name sounded lame to me", Seventeen replied.
"I know I'm really bad at naming things. You don't have to remind me". sighed Arthur.
"Anyway, I took it on myself to observe and possibly guide my parallel versions. So I created you along with two other androids and asked my friend to put the three of you in three parallel universes." Arthur stopped when he saw Seventeen raise his hand.
"Stop that Seventeen. You're not in school."
"Well, I wanted to ask a question."
"What is it?"
"You said your friend put me and two other androids in three parallel worlds. How?", Seventeen asked.
"Magic energy", Arthur replied.
"It's a form of energy that enables us to do amazing feats thought of as impossible, like summoning fire on your arm. You can access magic energy or magia with the help of Codes. They are like spells. The ones who use codes to control magia are called Warlocks."
"My friend and I were really powerful ones but only he was able to travel between universes. So he put you guys in those chambers."
Seventeen nodded in understanding, "So you gave me your consciousness with the help of magia."
"You're catching up really fast. Yes, I split my consciousness into three parts, added a small bit of my soul to each, and sent it to you three. You're the first to wake up. The small bit of my soul will act as a foundation for you to make your own personality and soul", Arthur explained.
"But if you gave me a part of your soul, does that mean you're dead?"
"Yes, Seventeen. I died after defeating a really nasty guy and reincarnated in my own universe as a girl 2000 years after my death. But I separated my consciousness before I died and here I am with you."
"Wow, you reincarnated as a girl?", Seventeen was amazed.
"Yep. And a pretty and smart one in fact. She doesn't know her past life but I think it's better if she doesn't", Arthur replied. "Now for one final detail."
"Even though my universe had magia, it wasn't that abundant. But the universe you are currently in is practically overflowing with this energy. So I gave you my skills and powers as a Warlock which would greatly help you in your travels. I was called Seventeen the Warlock in my time. Hence the reason I gave you that name"
"Damn. Thanks, Arthur, or should I say 'Prime' ", Seventeen said with a smirk.
Arthur rolled his eyes, "Anyway, this explanation is becoming boring", he said rising from the couch.
"So, Seventeen. Will you help me find and guide my parallel versions? If you don't want, I understand."
"Cut the crap. I hate to be in your debt. You literally gave me life. So yeah, I'll help. You just show the way." Seventeen said and held out his hand. Arthur smiled and they both shook hands.
"Thank you Seventeen. I assure you, you'll not regret it."
