Chapter 3 - Setting Out

Seventeen opened his eyes for the third time and saw that he was back in the chamber. He rubbed his head, "Did that really happen?", he mumbled.

(You bet it did) a voice said. Seventeen jumped when he heard it. "Arthur? Is that you? Don't tell me. You are in my head."

(Well duh. I'm gonna be your inner voice from now on. Also, try calling me Prime. it will avoid confusion in the future)

Seventeen sighed, "Alright".

(Nice. I've sent my old memories and necessary information about this world to your brain)

Seventeen sensed the information flooding his artificial brain. 'You were able to completely replicate the entire human brain down to the neurons and synapses. Impressive', Seventeen thought.

(Hehe thanks for the compliment).

"Oh, you can hear my every thought. That's gonna be annoying".

(You can create a mental wall to keep me out at times or just tell me to get out).

"Thanks for the tip."

He stood up and went towards the doors and opened them. It was a wardrobe with clothes and a pair of gloves. He dressed up and soon was wearing a black shirt, a dark grey long coat, brown pants, boots, and a black traveling cloak.

He looked at the gloves he was wearing. They were black leather ones with a blue intricate design that resembled a never-ending labyrinth.

From the information he received from Prime, these are Weapon Gloves. A powerful enchanted item that can recreate the weapon the gloves touch.

(I've already put in the information of three weapons from my universe in those gloves. If you want another type just touch the weapon with the gloves and wait for a few seconds. The gloves will 'remember' that weapon and recreate it whenever you need it)

The gloves can only have one master. So Seventeen doesn't have to worry about them falling into the wrong hands.

He searched Prime's memories and found a weapon. He willed it to form.

The right glove started glowing and a sword materialized from it. The glow faded and in his hand was a black katana.

The blade was 70 cm long with a deadly edge. The handle had a comfortable red leather grip and the sword was well balanced.

(Hey. That was my weapon. There were two of these blades since I was a dual swordsman. They are special as they are enchanted to be lethal to the species whose blood they come in contact with. That means even if your enemy is a powerful dragon, as long as the blades have 'tasted' dragon blood, they're lethal to it)

"That ability is sick. Wait, I thought you were a warlock", Seventeen was confused.

(I was skilled at everything except relationships. I mess up every time I talk to a girl)

"Why do you need to be skilled to interact with girls?", Seventeen wondered aloud.

(Women are a great mystery. You don't know what they are thinking)

"Maybe you are right", Seventeen said. He looked at his new weapon. The blade looked like the night sky, black and sparkling. "Hmmm. Prime, I think I'll name this sword Nyx.", he said.

(Nyx. It's a good name. Also, you're a single sword wielder. That is Interesting. Seems like my memories and soul does not fully influence your choices. That's good. It would've been boring if you were a perfect copy of me. Now, let's get out of this place)

"Yeah.", Seventeen went toward the table and kept his hand on it and the surface glowed. "Open Awakening Chamber", he commanded.

The wall behind the table opened silently. Immediately a blast of cold wind slapped him in the face. Unfortunately, his thermal sensors picked up the worst of the cold and sent it in high definition to his brain.

"Ouch! Who sets an android's thermal sensors in high def?", he yelled.

(My bad. The sensors were in the default high-sensitivity mode. You can turn them off if you want. But at least you now know that you can feel cold hehe)

"Shut up. too bad you are dead or I would've tested Nyx on you". He stepped out into the cold wind. After walking a small distance, he came upon a huge problem.

"Uh, Prime? You're seeing this right?"

(I do Seventeen. Damn. I didn't imagine my friend will go this far when I told him to put you in a place that is hard to find)

"Oh, your friend is right Prime. It will be really hard to find me in a high mountain range in the middle of nowhere." Seventeen said sarcastically.

He found out he was in the Elder Mountains in the north of one of the two landmasses of this world, The continent of Arken.

The Elder Mountains are the biggest and oldest mountain range in Arken. The Awakening Chamber was built on a huge cliff on the side of one of the mountains. This part of the mountains hasn't been explored yet.

Seventeen was staring down a huge drop in front of him. He couldn't see the bottom due to the clouds. "Hey, Prime. I won't break if I jump right?", he asked, slightly worried.

(No you wouldn't. You'll have to fall from space to even sprain your ankle. I'm more worried about anything in your path)

"Alright then.", he looked at the Awakening Chamber for the last time and jumped.
