"Hey, hey, don't cry! Don't cry!" Freya told her as she wiped Ingrid's tears with her thumb. She got down from the bed. "I'll help! I'll help." She told her chastely. "Quick, give me the cup!"
Ingrid gave her the plastic cup, and Freya wasted no time as she raced to the bathroom on the far right as Ingrid kept a lookout. She saw the doctor approaching, through the curtain partitions when she peeped just so slightly. She was getting closer and closer and Freya was looking like she was never coming out in time. She bit her lip as she shook terribly, peeping at the woman who was closing on the gap between them. She neared Ingrid's curtain five steps remaining to her reach... Freya was nowhere to be seen.
Four steps... three... two... one...
The doctor opened the curtain to find Ingrid all on her own, head dug in her face as she wept in solitary. She moved closer to her, "Ingrid what's wro- whoa!" Ingrid heard the doctor stopping in her movement. Her heartbeat was louder and faster. "You shouldn't leave such things on the floor Ingrid." The little girl opened her eyes and dug out her face from her covering hands wondering what the doctor was referring to. In her hand was the plastic cup, with urine as she rose up from the floor. She gave out a sigh of relief when she connected the dots instantly.
"Ingrid, what's the matter?" The doctor asked holding the cup in her hand.
"Nothing, nothing. I just realized how much I'm going to miss my mom. It's pretty emotional." She said wiping away her tears. She gave a smile.
"Don't worry. We're like our own family here." She told her. "Things will come around." And with that, the doctor walked away as Ingrid stabilized her breathing. She then darted over to Freya and opened her partition, finding her smiling already. She breathed out again. This time calmer.
"You..." Ingrid began as soon as her eyes landed on Freya's. "Thank you!"
"Nah, it was nothing!" She blurted out smiling broadly. The smile on that face occupied with lilac eyes did wonders. You just felt at peace.
"I don't know how I can ever repay you..."
"Hey forget about the repaying." Freya hissed. "I told you not to cry!" Ingrid's eyes had surely turned red... a little.
"I thought you were never gonna show up in time." Ingrid cried out. "I thought you were playing me."
"I'm not of that type, Ingrid..." She mumbled shaking her head. "When a friend asks for help, I do all I can to help." She shrugged.
"Friend huh? Thank you."
"Welcome." She smiled slightly. "Mind talking about it?" She asked, her eyes now drifted to Ingrid's belly.
Ingrid looked around. There was no one in sight, and the large room seemed clear. "No, not here." She however answered. Freya nodded in agreement and turned her attention back to Ingrid's face. "Do you really have STDs?" Ingrid asked.
"Yes." She answered. "Lots of them!"
Ingrid froze when she heard the statement. Though not utterly shocking as her pregnancy debacle, it was just enough to give her butterflies. She noticed Freya holding her laughter and when she couldn't hold it anymore, they burst out laughing together.
"No, just kidding," Freya answered. "This pussy is pure, but don't get it wrong. This kitty can purr." She added. Ingrid guffawed at the statement while Freya joined later on.
"Girls," the familiar doctor voice called out again. The two turned around. "That will be all. You may go now." She walked away immediately. Ingrid helped Freya off her bed and she got off unrehearsed and she almost sent Ingrid down to the floor. She however managed to curl her hand behind Ingrid's back in time and pulled her up. Ingrid's face stopped in front of Freya's. And her eyes scoured her lilac ones. She breathed out softly as she felt Freya's rose berry fragrance hit her. She was slightly taller than her but was looking straight in her eyes as if their height difference didn't matter at this moment. She heard her breathing and saw how beautiful she looked in the process.
"We… have… to go..." Ingrid told her, releasing her hands from Freya's blazer. She stood sternly and Freya let her hand get back in its resting position, from Ingrid's back.
"Oh, yeah. We should." Freya added on. Ingrid took her bag as Freya took hers and they walked together outside the room and finally outside the building. Freya waited outside other rooms from other buildings as Ingrid's finished the rest of the procedures, closely guarding her suitcase. When they were through with the long and tiring procedures, they headed off to the dorms, in tow walking on the clean pavement as the snow wetted the land below them.
"Freya, I'm really sorry for what I told you." Ingrid mumbled as she opened the gate to the dorms section. Freya got in first and she followed, dragging the suitcase behind with a lot of effort. She stopped till she was through and when she finally caught up with her, she slapped Ingrid's hand off the suitcase and took its control.
"A pregnant girl like you shouldn't be doing such activities." She joked. Ingrid smirked. "I know I went overboard with the kiss." She added.
"Yes, you did. And I went overboard with what I told you." Ingrid cohered as they got to the designated dorm, named after Saint Luis. It was pretty clear with few students who didn't have lessons at that time chatting and doing their activities over there. The students noticed the two passing and cheered them on as they clearly recalled Monday's events. They climbed the stairs to the first floor, Freya dragging the heavy suitcase behind her.
"I hope that none of this will ever happen again. I have a boyfriend Freya, please understand that." Ingrid added when they stopped in front of a door, with a tag number 205 on it. Freya nodded in response. Ingrid entered some password on the lock technology thing on the wall and the door clucked meaning it was now viable to be opened manually. She pushed the door and got in as Freya followed behind. When inside, she closed the door again with the password and it clucked shut. Fancy school, fancy things.
There were two double-decker beds in the room, with a large table, measuring 1.3m by 1m that filled the empty space between the beds with four chairs arranged neatly around it. Two large windows with drawn curtains stood between the beds too. On the rear ends of either bed were cupboards partitioned into two. Ingrid saw two of the bunkers of the beds already in use and two were free with only thick mattresses on top. She had her beddings inside the suitcase that she had gotten from her admission minutes earlier.
Freya dragged the suitcase to the left side of the room, as Ingrid threw herself on the lower bunker of the bed, on the left side. She breathed out softly as she inserted her hands into her sweater.
"Is this your bed or Maddie's?" She asked Freya, who was adjusting the suitcase so that it would stand sentry.
"Mine." She answered. "Maddie's the other one." She pointed at the lower bunker of the other bed. "I can't believe you've already forgotten."
"I was last here two weeks ago when you and Maddie were still cool. Since then who knew if you changed your beds?" She sighed. "God, I'm so tired."
Freya threw herself on her bed, beside Ingrid and they stared up. "Don't worry." She told her. "You can have mine." She understood her situation.
"Really?" Ingrid inquired softly, looking at Freya. She nodded. Ingrid breathed out again, still locked at her eyes, hands still in the sweater.
"I presume you want to know about this," Ingrid told her as she caressed her tummy gently, Freya looking on.
"Yes... tell me everything." She nodded. "From the beginning."
"But before I start, I hope you now understand why we can never be together?" Ingrid muttered.
"It's okay..." Freya agreed later on as she smiled.
Ingrid opened her mouth to speak. "You know Ayden right? Well we..."
They spoke of the secret life of an American teenager they lived. And what a S.L.O.A.T it was!
