Lights of different colours roamed around the dance floor. Strong smell of alcohol lingered in the air, people grinded on each other while dancing.
Loud deafening music drowned all other noises. She was sitting at the bar with her friend, taking shot after shot.
" Whoa, easy there Maria. He is a douche for cheating on you. Why are you going hard on yourself? " her friend said drinking her own tequila.
" I know Sarah. And I am not upset about the breakup nor the fact that he cheated. We both know that it was an arranged engagement. There was no love. He was my friend since college and I put my trust in him. That trust was broken. Betrayal hurts. " Maria replied slamming the glass down.
" Let's forget about him and enjoy ourselves. He is not worth our time. " Sarah said getting up and dragging Maria towards the dance floor.
Maria tried to refuse but she knew how stubborn Sarah was. All the eyes turned to her slender figure that was covered by a tight black dress but she could care less.
As soon as the effect of alcohol kicked in, both of them started dancing to the loud beat. Forgetting about her surroundings, she decided to let loose and forget about that jerk.
While dancing, she felt the attention of the people shift towards the entrance, she followed their trail and saw two men enter in the club.
Extremely handsome, but her attention shifted to the one who was behind. He was tall and slim, despite wearing loose clothes, his muscles could be seen. His long black hair was parted from the side and almost covered his eyes. The first two buttons of his shirt undone, the coat hanging from one of his hands.
They settled down on the bar. His eyes travelled around the hall before they connected with hers. They made contact for some seconds and there was a spark before she broke it and turned around going back to her dancing with Sarah, who was busy admiring his friend.
He scanned her from top to bottom and a small smile graced his lips. He whispered to his friend and his friend moved towards the dance floor.
His friend started dancing with Sarah and soon swept her away. Maria winked at Sarah and chuckled. But it soon turned into a frown when a boy started dancing extremely close to her. She moved back a little but he came closer.
Before his hands touched her waist, someone from behind circled his arms around her. She looked over her shoulder and saw him. With her heels she reached his chin, without them she would reach only his shoulder.
He glared at the boy in front of her, who quickly ran away from there.
He removed his hands and she turned around to thank him. Before she could say anything, he smiled sweetly and asked her to drink with him.
They sat at the bar and he ordered the drinks. It gave her time to study his features. A sharp nose with a mole at the tip, big eyes that glistened when lights fell on them, a jaw that could cut through crystals, he was perfect in every way.
" I am Samuel and you? " He looked at her with a tilted head.
She came back from her trance and with a nervous smile and a blush, she said, " Maria. "
It would be wrong to say he didn't felt butterflies.
" Are you new here? " She asked curiously.
" Yeah, how did you know? " He asked confused.
" I know most of the people here, but I saw you for the first time. So I guessed. " She replied while taking a sip.
He nodded. And they indulged in a long talk. Both of them went from tipsy to drunk. But he was still sober as he had less drinks than her.
He tried to look for her friend but turned out his friend had taken her to who knows where.
" Hey, Maria. Tell me your address. " He asked with a little slur in his voice.
She looked at him with eyes half closed and he admitted he got completely drunk staring at them. She took her identity card and gave it to him and rested her head back on the counter.
He chuckled, ' yep she is drunk. ' he thought.
He called an uber and told him her address. He let the window down so both of them could sober up a little.
After reaching there, he picked her up like a princess and walked to her apartment. She gave him the keys and he stumbled inside.
She pointed towards her room and he took her there. He laid her down and removed her sandals.
He put the blanket on her and was about to leave when he was pulled back, if he wasn't tipsy it would have been impossible to pull him but he slipped and landed right next to her.
Their faces extremely close, their breaths could be felt on each other. A part of him wanted to move back, but he let the alcohol take over.
Their lips collided and he pulled himself up to hover over her. They moved in sync. Nothing mattered at that moment. Before it could turn into something more, he felt her hands open his shirt which broke his trance.
He immediately held her hands. " You are drunk. Don't do it. " He replied with a hushed voice.
" I am sober enough to know what I am doing. Her voice came extremely close to his ear almost pulling him back in the trance.
" You might regret it. " He said.
" I won't. " She looked up at him and couldn't help but admire the man in front of her. She saw his face moving closer and felt their lips touch and then everything blacked out.
