Daniel wakes up a few hours later, taking a moment to orientate himself before sitting upright.
He then flexes his hands, remembering what he was doing before he passed unconscious, and wanting to see if the method he used had worked as he hoped.
He grins with excitement as his right hand, the one that he focused on whilst mana-starving himself, feels a significant amount better than it did beforehand; still bringing him some amount of pain, but nothing compared to his left hand.
Taking a few deep breaths, He then decides to see how exactly he managed to overcome his innate internal concentration of mana; Closing his eyes in concentration, doing his best to recollect the feeling he had within his hand before he fell to the floor.
Vaguely remembering the feeling of mana being pulled into his starving bones, and him amplifying it, Daniel holds his other hand out and flexes the fingers, Flinching in pain as he does so.
He then does his best to will the trickle of mana directly into his bones themselves.
As he attempts to do so, He feels the mana around his broken hand successfully, yet as he attempts to pull it within his hand to repair it, he meets with a fairly strong resistance, allowing him to draw not much more than a few 'droplets' of mana inward.
'This must be because of the concentration of mana within me already, acting as a resistor to the flow of mana'
Daniel doesn't get discouraged by the setback, immediately thinking on how to avoid the issue without having to resort to the method he used beforehand, not that he could, considering the runes on his are nothing more than dots of burnt ink on his arm at this point.
'Maybe if I try drawing the mana away from the hand again, It'll make it easier?'
Although it had failed to initially awaken his bodies thirst for mana, Daniel still thinks he may as well attempt to will the mana in his hand away before attempting to draw mana into his broken bones more efficiently. So, taking a few deep breaths to concentrate, he wills the mana within his broken hand away, before turning his focus towards drawing mana into his hand.
Yet as he attaches his focus to drawing in mana, He fumbles with keeping the mana away from his hand, not able to concentrate on two different things in the same body part easily, causing the same issue of heavy resistance when attempting to draw mana into his bones.
Once again breathing away his frustration at himself, Daniel takes a moment to maintain his clear state of mind before thinking about a solution to his issue.
'I should work on my control of this 'mana' stuff, But that'll take to long and if I stay here too long people will worry- I could try that, I guess?'
A rather simple Idea coming to mind, Daniel extends his right hand aswell, to help him concentrate on the mana within them; before focusing his right hand to draw all of his mana to his palm area, before drawing mana into his injured left hand to repair it.
"It works!"
Daniel exclaims as he feels a slightly less efficient flow of mana into his bones than what he had achieved before passing out.
"For F*cks sake"
As soon as he loses focus to celebrate, the his concentration breaks, leading the mana in his right hand to fill the rest of his bodies low mana concentration, causing him a fair amount of pain in the process.
'Lets try that again'
Spending the next minute regaining the pull of mana Into his right palm, Daniel regains his pull of mana into his injured hand, slowly increasing in healing efficiency as he gains confidence over his mana control.
After a little over two minutes of the trickle of mana repairing his broken hand, the flow gains more resistance once again; though as Daniel checks his mana flow, his right palm still contains all of his internal mana.
'Must be near fixing my hand'
Daniel does his best to think calmly to avoid losing concentration once again, keeping as much mana flowing into his bones from the atmosphere as he can at any given point.
______________
With a sweat built up on his forehead, Daniel stands up, the mana flowing into his bones having slowed to a point that he had decided wasn't worth it at that point.
Flexing his hands, He does his best to notice any obvious changes within his hands.
Other than a slight shaking in his hands from the tendons and muscle around the bones still being wounded, He doesn't notice much of a notable improvement.
'I should see if the bones are more durable before getting annoyed- they're already healed, That in itself should be enough for celebration'
The fatigue having built up in his mind from repeated pain and strenuous activities does its best to fill Daniel with frustration, though he catches himself and gives himself a reminder that regardless of any permanent effects, He still found a way to repair broken bones rapidly, with little to no permanent consequences,
Turning around to face the pillar of jagged tone that bested his weak bones beforehand, Daniel takes a moment to focus, before starting to strike at the pillar; Unable to use the ruined runes on his arm, he can only grit through the pain of repeatedly striking the stone pillar with all the strength his mana-less arms can muster.
Dull, meaty thuds reverberate from the impact points of his strikes for the next minute or so.
Punching past the pain, Daniel does his best to make sure that he doesn't feel a need to test his repaired bones once again, putting his whole being into each punch and yelling to help himself endure the pain of each jolting impact.
The impacts start sounding more violent as Daniel continues striking, only stopping as a drop of blood spatters him in the face.
Looking down at his hands, Daniel sees blood, torn skin, and bone.
"Oh"
The pain slowly starts to return to his hands, numbed by adrenaline previously.
"Ow- At least my bones aren't broken again, I hope"
Shaking his hands, excessive blood splatters across the stone ground and his clothing; Daniel proceeds to glance at the stone pillar, The grey stone remaining undamaged, though splattered with his blood.
Clenching his fists, Daniel uses the pain to clear his mind before drawing all of his internal mana into his chest and starting to recreate his bodies desire to repair his bones with mana, though currently focused on repairing his heavily lacerated hands.
Intense pain serves as an amplifier for Daniel's will, The amount of mana flowing into his hands skin and flesh notably more prominent than he managed earlier.
The regrowth of skin and flesh takes a fair amount longer than simply fusing broken parts of bone, taking Daniel nearly a half-hour before he wipes his brow, blood and sweat flicking to the ground.
"Ah, Shit"
Looking down at his repaired hands, Daniel curses, the changes are much more apparent than his strengthened bones; Blatantly scarred flesh now covering the majority of his knuckles, though as he looks closer at the mana-regrown skin, He notes that the repaired skin seems to be slightly translucent, veins slightly more visible through the new skin.
'That's fine, I might get some weird looks, but when haven't I gotten those and if its as durable as my repaired bones seem-'
"hehe"
Giggling as he thinks of his potential new super-skin, Daniel flexes his hands to go along with his naïve train of thought, torn out of his excitement and pride at repairing his hands rather fast.
"What the- Oh no"
When attempting to move his hands, Daniel notes that the new skin covering the joints in his hands acts like a tension band, Each of his movements restricted by the much stronger regrown skin.
Thoughts racing as he struggles to close his hands and move each of his fingers, He rather quickly thinks of something, worry filling his mind as he does.
'The guide- It mentioned muscles, bones and tendons but never skin-'
Looking down at his hand, now requiring his entire grip strength to simply close his hand, any fine motor controls gone entirely for the moment; Daniel's eyes are filled with worry, His excitement and over eagerness leading him to potentially extreme consequences already.
'If the guide itself doesn't mention it- Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad…'
His thoughts slowly filling with anxiety as he speaks, Daniel quickly opens the guide itself, hoping to find a solution.
"Delilah, Open Skill selection"
"Delilah, Open Guide skills"
"Delilah, Open Muscle mana Enhancement"
Daniels eyes skim over each and every word in a panic.
After one pass over the guide, Nothing.
Two passes, just to be sure, Nothing.
Nothing.
