The sound of rushing waves washing up against the beach were quiet this very morning. Xiphos stood silently staring into the distance.
"Ey kid! What're you doing out here? Have you not heard of the sickness goin' around?" A farmer asked from up the hill, where his decaying farm remained.
"I don't need permission do I?" Xiphos asked with a sigh, turning to face the farmer and pushing his long black hair out of his eyes.
"Well the government sure isn't gonna have it!" The Farmer continued.
"The government can't stop me. I'm looking for someone important. Have you seen someone named Kayla recently? She is usually with some boy."
The farmer stood silently. "Kayla? Erm... no? Is she yer girlfriend or somethin'?"
Xiphos sighed and reached toward his side.
"No. But since you saw me, I, unfortunately, have to waste more time, if only you had answers." Xiphos said, unsheathing a large blade of black. Its darkness did not reflect the morning light, and the blade looked hot to the touch.
"Huh?! Now that won't be necessary! I'm leaving!" The farmer tried to plead, noticing the severity of the situation.
Those words fell on deaf ears.
With a loud whooshing sound, Xiphos was face to the face with the farmer; who was now stabbed through his chest, a surprised look covered the farmer's face.
"I'll be leaving to find her now. Goodbye." Xiphos said, pulling his blade away and allowing for the old man to die a painful death from blood loss and the burning ache in his chest. The smell of hot blood filled the air and it didn't take long at all for the village to finally notice it.
"Sucks that he built his farm near the damn ocean. Can't relax anywhere, can I?" Xiphos asked, putting his hands into his pocket, having to withdrawal one to move his hair out of the way once again.
