Chereads / Werewolf Huntress / Chapter 13 - Thirteen

Chapter 13 - Thirteen

"What exactly brought you here Ciara?"

The forest seemed to go quiet as it allowed them their privacy. Ciara suddenly got serious. She stopped circling Alexia. She inserted both her hands in the pockets of her pants while her dark t-shirt hung freely over the pants. Her real emotions found their way to the surface. Her facial expressions changed. It was anger.

"I came to warn you Alexia," Ciara began. She removed one hand from her pocket and allowed it to fall freely by her side. Alexia made sure she watched her every move. As a Huntress, she couldn't let any movement pass her eyes. Ciara could sneak an attack on her and if she wasn't fast enough, then Alexia could lose her life.

When Alexia registered Ciara's words in her head, she stared at her in surprise. Ciara had come to warn her? She thought to herself.

"Warn me about what?" Alexia asked. She decided to play along. After all, she had all the time in the world to attack Ciara. She wanted to know just how far Ciara would go. Just how far Ciara could stoop.

"You probably think you're Damon's second chance mate and you'll probably want to carry the title in your head," Ciara explained.

Alexia's eyebrows corked to the highest. She wanted to burst into laughter but it took a lot of will power to bury it.

"Damon is mine and mine alone. There is no place for you in his heart. There is no place for a Huntress like you!" Ciara yelled.

At this point, Alexia could hold the laughter back no more. She laughed hard to the extent that tears escaped her eyes.

"What's so funny? I don't recall telling a joke," Ciara retorted.

"I'm just laughing about how stupid you are. No offense but you are stupid!" Alexia said amidst laughter.

Ciara gasped at the insult but she stood her ground.

"The fact that you actually feel threatened by me about your murderous boyfriend is fascinating. I don't care about your Damon. I want nothing to do with him!" Alexia spat in disgust.

Ciara's chest visibly rose and fell due to the anger that she was holding down. She felt insulted. Alexia was toying with her. It took all her will power to remain where she was and not attack Alexia.

"Oh my, are you angry? Did I anger you in any way?" Alexia teased.

Ciara's nostrils flared in anger as she took a sharp intake of breath.

"I won't warn you again Alexia, stay away from Damon or I'll teach you a lesson just like I did the last time," She smirked.

Ciara had hit a spot. Alexia gritted her teeth in anger. The last time, she had taught her a lesson by pretending to be her friend and betraying her. Her grandparents lost their lives in the process. The emptiness within stung her hard and she wanted to give in to the ground and cry. But she wasn't going to do all that before Ciara. She wasn't going to let Ciara see her weakness.

The one who caused it all was standing before her. She had had enough of her games. It was time to end Ciara's life.

"I think we're done here," Ciara said and swiftly turned.

She was about to leave when Alexia threw a knife at her. It missed her and landed in the tree before Ciara. It stuck to it and remained there. The sound of the vibrating knife resonated through the woods.

Ciara turned back at Alexia with a shocked expression.

"Where do you think you're going? I'm not done with you yet," Alexia warned her. The smirk on Alexia's face never faded away.

"Well you missed! You don't even know how to use knives properly," Ciara retorted. She had been shaken by the knife throw but she was trying to hide it. Alexia saw right through it.

"Idiot! I missed on purpose," Alexia informed her.

Ciara faced and narrowed her eyes at her. Alexia glared back at her.

"So we're doing this now, aren't we?" Ciara pointed out the obvious.

"Yes we are. I've waited long enough," Alexia declared and retrieved her knives from her waist. She smiled in satisfaction as the adrenaline rushed through her veins.

"I will enjoy ripping you to shreds," Ciara threatened.

"I'd love to see you try," Alexia retorted and she came at her without warning. She was fast.

Ciara growled and revealed her claws. She was fast too but Alexia was just as fast. Alexia had her knives out in the air as Ciara jumped at her.

Alexia blocked the strike of Ciara's claws with her daggers. Then she rolled over immediately out of the way so that Ciara wouldn't give her a surprise attack.

Ciara turned back and Alexia had already gotten on her feet. They were both panting and Alexia's hair had come loose.

"You seem to have taken a few lessons," Ciara teased.

"Good thing I did, now I'm stronger!" Alexia retorted and led another attack.

As Ciara blocked out one of the knives, Alexia sneaked a swipe with her other hand. It cut Ciara's skin and Ciara growled.

"You can feel the burn don't you? It won't heal so fast. It's silver!" Alexia smirked and led another attack.

Ciara only managed to get out of the way. She was wounded and it wasn't healing. The cut burned her badly. She had never been cut with silver before. She wasn't prepared for this kind of pain. The tides had turned on her. At this rate, she was going to lose. She needed help or Alexia was going to kill her.

Alexia came at her even faster than before and Ciara earned another cut. Alexia was all smiles. Each cut was for her grandparents. Today, she had gotten the chance to finish off their murderer.

Somehow, Alexia got too excited and for a moment, underestimated her opponent. Ciara hit her hard in the stomach and as Alexia bent over in pain; Ciara raised her knee and hit Alexia hard in the face. Alexia fell over. This also caused her to lose her weapons.

Alexia began to bleed through her nose and mouth. It was going to be a surprise if she survived the battle without breaking a bone.

They were both groaning and their clothes were stained with their blood. Ciara pulled Alexia by the hair as she was still trying to recover.

"I should have just killed you that day! Maybe I should just correct my mistakes today!" Ciara screamed in Alexia's face.

Ciara's claws were very sharp and she started to bring them down fast. Her intentions were clear. She wanted to rip out Alexia's throat. Fortunately, Alexia saw it and acted fast. She retrieved the hidden daggers in her boot so swiftly and blocked the attack. Then she cut Ciara with the knife again.

Ciara flinched away in pain as she groaned.

"You can't just kill me Ciara! I will be the one to kill you!" Alexia screamed and went at Ciara.

Ciara's claws and Alexia's daggers clashed. The clashes of both opponents could occasionally be heard. The sun had started to set. They had been at it for so long and no other hunters had noticed it. No other hunters had passed through here.

Maybe it was because they were a bit far from the Hunter Clan. Although, they weren't exactly at the outskirts. Alexia had hiked for a long time. Her parents probably thought she was training. She was in a fierce battle with the one she had wanted to fight for ages. Her revenge.

Ciara raised Alexia in the air with her werewolf strength. She threw her hard onto the ground and Alexia groaned in pain. Ciara was about to land another hit when Alexia swiftly rolled away.

She got back on her feet and they both began to circle each other. "None of us is leaving this place today until somebody dies!" Alexia declared.

"Your hatred is raw but it is not as strong as mine," Ciara snapped back.

Immediately, Ciara led an attack at Alexia. Her claws were thrusted out and swiping from side to side. If Alexia got caught in her nails then there was going to be no escape.

Alexia threw a knife at Ciara. The knife entered the region below her collar bone. She growled in pain. Alexia could tell that the silver was burning her. Ciara's face had gone completely pale. She slowly descended to the ground as no one could help her.

Alexia slowly walked towards her. She squatted before the girl. Ciara was finding it hard to breathe and she was losing a lot of blood.

She retrieved her knife and raised it high up in the air. "This is where you die Ciara!" Alexia spat and started to bring the dagger to Ciara's chest.

Ciara watched helplessly as the dagger came her way to end her life.

Suddenly, something hit the knife in Alexia's hand. It fell over. Then a loud growl followed. It was the roar of an Alpha.

Damon had come.
