Chapter 26 - Alchemy Book

Meanwhile, Long Chen made his way towards the Night Trading Market under his disguise as a middle-aged man.

Even if he did not manage to buy anything constructive here, it could still be considered as a form of experience for him.

The place he was going to was called the Night Trading Market, and was the nearest market within the circumference of the Glory Maple Restaurant.

'Selling Gamordora Herbs! One for 2000 gold"

"Selling Equipment and Weapons for the best price at our store!"

"Grade 4 Combat Skill for 4000 gold!"

When he strode his way there, the bustling noises of the store owners' various advertisements constantly travelled to his ears.

The Night Trading Market was a place where almost anything was sold.

Be it weapons, herbs, combat techniques or skill books.

He had heard that the exchange rate for gold to Low-Tier Crystals was around ten thousand to one, which meant that the Low-Tier Crystals that were previously within his pocket, and was now placed within his storage bag, was worth an astonishing 180000 gold.

He wandered around aimlessly for a while, and saw many items and things that he had never chanced on before.

The only thing that he didn't see here, were the pills made by alchemists.

And when he asked for information about them, the store owners all told him that pills were too expensive and rare to be sold in their Night Trading Market.

The areas where cultivators usually purchase pills for cultivation from was either the Trading Chamber Organisation, or the Alchemy Association.

There were also some other shops located in wealthy areas in the city that sold pills, but their quality were merely substandard and quantity lacking.

How could their little shops possibly compare to mega powerhouses like the Trading Chamber Organisation and the Alchemy Association?

After roaming aimlessly, he gradually lost his interest and was about to turn back and return to the Sect, when something caught his interest.

It was a dilapidated old prop-up stall, with a signboard that read "Selling Alchemy Books". The stall was plain and dull, and the passers-by all didn't bother to take another glance at it. With one look, they could tell that it was a scam store.

And not mentioning whether it was real or not, the products costs 2 Crystals!

They were equivalent to 20000 gold, and many people couldn't even earn that sum in their entire lives.

Long Chen strode towards the store front, and saw an old man lazily sitting down on a bendable chair, his eyelids half closed, with a bit of drool running down his chin.

He lightly tapped on the stall to get his attention, and the old man abruptly stood up as he mumbled with his eyes still half closed, "Alchemy Books for 2 Spirit Crystals!"

He didn't even notice Long Chen, until a while later when he slowly rubbed his eyes and opened them.

"A customer?" The old man voice rose up in surprise. It was a long time since he saw a customer in his stall!

"Haha dear customer, would you like to look at my humble store's selections of books? They are all ancient books regarding alchemy knowledge, and I ensure you that once you comprehend them, you can instantly become a legitimate Alchemist, revered and respected by all." The old man enthusiastically introduced as he pointed towards the selection of books…that are looked similar to each other.

Long Chen lowered his gaze as he examined the 'alchemy books'. As his hand lightly bristled over their front pages, a notification rang out in his head.

[Host has discovered at Item that can unlock a new feature 'Alchemy']

Hearing this familiar cold voice that resounded within his head, he bit down on his teeth as he tried to suppress his excitement.

Putting on a casual front, he lightly smiled towards the old man, "These books don't really look real. But since my sister wants to play around with such things, then I shall buy it for her then."

Long Chen easily made up a lie, as his voice was clear and eloquent, without any hint of deception.

He can't just expose the fact that these books were helpful, and make him a target for everyone in this place, right?

Knowledge about Alchemy was rare. If they knew that it was real, the crowd would be fiercely scrambling and hustling to buy it for a few hundred Crystals, let alone a mere 2 Crystals.

"Ah…looks like your sister has a very special taste." The old man replied, with an expression that looked like happiness and anticipation.

"Here' Long Chen took out 2 Crystals from his storage bag and directly handed it out to the old man, and then carelessly took the alchemy book that triggered the reaction and threw it within his storage bag.

"Thank you for patronizing. I hope that you can come again next time!" The old man exclaimed in excitement, and his fingers that were holding on to the Crystals were even faintly trembling.

Long Chen slightly smiled in acknowledgement, and slowly left, although his heart was barely unable to suppress the desire to run back to the Sect immediately and find out the new feature of the System

As soon as he got out of the old man's sight, he hurriedly rushed back to the Sect.

On the other hand, the old man's fingers stopped trembling, his eyes opening to reveal a dark and mysterious look, his expression calm and serene as he continued to stare at the direction where the Long Chen disappeared to.

"He managed to take the one true alchemy book. Is this fate, or luck?" The old man softly muttered to himself, as he stared down at the empty spot where the book once laid.

"Judging by his aura and age, it looks like he is the supposed Mortal Tier 11 Junior that joined the Moonlight Sect. A 13 bone age 7th Qi Refining Realm."

"Tier 11? Not, it is not just that. The Moonlight Sect has really picked up a gem this time." The old man sighed.

And I wonder what he shall choose, the path of Martial Dao, or the path of Alchemy Dao."

"Hopefully, the old man in the Moonlight Sect wouldn't blame and come hunting for me if he chooses the latter and neglects the former. After all, in his eyes, the Martial Dao transcends all Dao." The old man murmured in a very low voice that seemed to contain the meanings of life itself.

The older you get, the more things you experience, and the greater your state of mind.

The old man waved his hand, his sleeves slightly fluttering in the wind, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared, leaving behind an empty shadow of darkness.

Along with his stall, no one would even remember that such a person even existed.
