For more than half a day Tristan and Eda were held in Director Rocket's office.
Eda's attitude was one of embarrassment mixed with anger and Tristan's was more of a defiant and tired one. Rocket kept them under surveillance while Sylph ran errands. Between questions generated by the director, the preliminary expertise did not throw but more doubts and confusion about how they both ended up in such a situation.
There was no answer to how it was that a mere character could detect the wand being that it was blocked, how it was that it did not die once the fragment entered his body, nor how it was able to interact with a fairy without permission. More and more doubts grew without end but Rocket decided to settle the matter to take the next step without being discovered.
The prohibition of bringing foreigners from stories to this plane was absolute. Although Rocket threatened to expose them to Prior, his intention was only to create fear in them since if she said something her head would also roll for being the director of human resources for Sylph's area and being an accomplice by not reporting the matter in the first instance . She was curious about the stranger and his new power, so she came up with a stupid and risky idea to leave him in this world: She would make him an intern who would be in charge of watching over Eda on each mission to prevent her from making mistakes, since her fame as a Fairy of Bad Luck was widespread throughout the building and no one wanted to get involved with her.
Eda was downgraded to that of Partners, Tristan would change his name so as not to raise suspicions about his identity on the day of Audits. No one would doubt him and he could always be with his fairy.
-Finally, you sign here. Boy you must put your new name and surname here to finalize the hiring and make it a good one- Rocket points to the papers with his finger
-In other words, can I call myself whatever I want? That is incredible! I already know what name I want, as my mother called me-
-You're stupid, the director made it clear that you can't use your real name since the Audit is going to catch us- Eda was furious
-For your information, only my mother called me with the name I will use, no one knows that name not even the bastards who abandoned me- in a mocking tone he answers Eda
-Hey! Stop fighting, sign once so we finish, I already want to have lunch-
-Okay-
Once the contract is signed, he hands the papers to Rocket and she laughs as he reads them.
-What a curious name is the same as my nephew hahaha ... Russell Fox huh- Rocket laughs holding his stomach
-She called you Russell, why did she call you that? If your name was Tristan, it doesn't make sense-
-Actually Rusty told me, but what do you care why, that is not your problem- his indignation increased
-Enough! Ready. This matter stays here and it doesn't come from here. Do you understand me? Eda, Ross will live with you and you better be able to master it in a month, you will teach him how to live in this world and in the process both will study the subjects of the academy. For you it will be a review because apparently you forgot everything and it will help him to catch up on everything related to the world of magic and stories. Take these pen drives for each one-
-But...-
-No buts, from today you should get along. I will assign you a sick leave so you will have enough time to engage and as for you, may the gods have mercy on your soul, just look who you got involved with-
-Excuse me? -
-Get out of my office! Go straight home, do not meet anyone or say anything about what happened and do not return if it is not good news. Bye- Rocket pushed them out of the office and slammed the door in their faces
They were both dumbfounded staring at the door.
On the way to the parking lot, they came across one of Eda's many enemies. Susan Flake and her entourage of followers. Susan held the position 3 of best fairy in the monthly ranking and whenever she faced Eda she rubbed off her uselessness and her bad luck since she could never even enter the academic ranking nor could she at work.
-If it's Friday the 13th, how was it today, did you ruin something? It seems that yes, poor you hahaha- Susan began to mock when she noticed someone behind Eda and pushed her to the side to get closer
-I hadn't seen you because of the cluttering bushes. You are new? Nice to meet you, I'm Susan Flake, # 3 in the Story & Novels department. If you need help, do not hesitate to ask for it- she answers, moving her hair in a flirtatious way
A strange and mysterious feeling of anger and disappointment began to brew in Ross who was staring at an Eda who had a murderous gaze fixed on Susan. He turns to look at Susan and feels that the girl was not only unpleasant but that she was despicable. He politely tries to get away from her as he holds back the growing hatred of her.
-Nice to meet you too Susan, I'm Russell Fox. I'm afraid I must decline your offer as I already have someone else who will do that job. If he will excuse me, I must withdraw, I have urgent matters to attend to. Goodbye- Ross leans in to say goodbye and takes Eda tightly by her arm to guide him to the exit.
The women were silent looking at the back of Ross who was dragging a confused Eda.
-Let's get out of here. You said your transport was here but I don't see any float just strange machinery-
-I don't use a float, I use a Vespa and these machines are cars, genius- Eda was still upset by what happened
-I honestly do not know what they are, you must explain it to me at the time and in detail please as you did with the elevator-
-Huh? Sure. Here, put on your helmet, sit behind me and hold on tight so as not to fall to the asphalt and break your head-
-Fall out? It sounds dangerous. You don't wear a helmet? -
-No. Get on - Eda starts the motorcycle and urges Ross to get on.
During the journey, Ross marvels at the entire landscape around him. Buildings, lights, cars, squares and parks, everything was so new that he was fascinated. They arrive at an apartment complex in the suburbs and after putting away the motorcycle, they chat while they go up to the 15th floor. When he turned on the light, Ross was disgusted by the apartment. Eda was not only a disaster in his work but also in his personal life. Clothes and bags thrown on the floor or on the armchair, boxes of deliveries accumulated on the chairs and the table. The sink was full of dirty utensils and the distinct smell of damp mixed with something rotten was killing him.
- How disgusting how you can live like this! My hut was cleaner than this pigpen- holding his nose prevents from vomiting
-If you don't like it, clean it up. I am very tired, I am going to take a bath and then I go to sleep. Do what you want!-
-Like like that ... hey wait- his claim was in vain as Eda had already locked the door.
