It wasn't disappointment or irritation that Orthon saw in Minndt's gaze, it was fear. Simply fear, nothing more. Those eyes of a blue deeper than all the abysses of the world looked at him, analyzed him, probed him in the depths of his soul. Leaning against the wall by the window, Minndt was in the midst of a mental discussion with himself as he struggled with the pain at the same time. And that, his alpha mate could see perfectly well from the way he rested his crossed arms against his chest.
"Minndt," he called while he stepping cautiously.
"What do we do now, we go into the wolf's mouth of our own free will to flatter their perfidious and morbid egos?"
