Chapter 4 - The First Night

Rosalie paid for her dinner with her unreasonably large amount of student credit. At least she wouldn't be having any problems getting her daily necessities through the school stores. She had seen that there was a mall somewhere on campus that accepted student credit, maybe she would be able to get some upgrades for her computer from a tech shop.

The school also had an online store that linked student credit to several online vendors, making it possible to get practically anything shipped to you. Rosalie was in the middle of making her own keyboard and needed to buy the parts somewhere, this was perfect.

After dinner, Rosalie bathed in her private bathroom that was part of her room and poured herself a cup of milk from the pre-stocked fridge. She sat by the open window and enjoyed the cool night air.

All of Rosalie's clothes were simple. She mostly had hand-me-downs from the older kids from the orphanage. She wore an oversized, white t-shirt and sweatpants with her damp hair messily brushed to the side.

Tomorrow was the entrance ceremony, she wondered if there would be seats or would they be standing the whole time. She knew from doing a quick web search that Christophe would be the student representative for the freshmen doing the welcome speech.

While she was lost in thought, thinking about all the different foods she would be able to try at this school, she was taken aback by a figure climbing through her window.

Huh?

Her lights were off, so they probably thought this room was unoccupied. But this was still a weird time to be sneaking in and Rosalie kept a wary gaze towards the night intruder. If things got violent, Rosalie was confident enough in her strength that she would at least be able to pin them down and scream for help.

She sat still and waited until the other person would notice her, which took until he was inches away from her face.

"AH!"

The boy yelled in her face as he toppled backward out of the window. Rosalie sat there silently trying to keep a straight face at the sight.

"What the? James told me that this room was empty, the heck. I'm gonna kill him."

He whispered to himself while brushing off the dirt from his pants.

From the moonlight, Rosalie could make out a familiar face.

"It's you!"

It was the boy from earlier in the day, the one she ran into.

"You're that pipsqueak that fell today. What are you doing in the girls' dormitories?"

What did he mean?

"Oh, I see."

He said it as though he had figured out everything.

"You're waiting for a chick too right?"

Did he think she was here to meet up with a girl?

"Uh no, this is my room."

"Sure sure, and I'm a Greek God, what else is new."

He clearly didn't believe her.

Rosalie looked down at her clothes and then to her reflection in the window. She could see how she could be mistaken for a boy in this situation. Oh well, she'll just roll with it to get this over with.

"So what? You caught me, and I caught you, we're even. No one speaks of this, we get with our girls and we're all good, capiche?"

It wasn't a deal; it was more of a threat. Which Rosalie found extremely hilarious and entertaining. He was trying to threaten her to keep quiet so that her secret rendezvous with her fake girlfriend wouldn't be exposed. Rosalie was trying with all her might to not explode with laughter at this, his confident smirk was not helping.

Although taking a closer look at him, he wasn't super off the mark with the Greek God comment. Even in the dimly lit room, she could make out his handsome features. He really could've been a sculpture come to life.

Rosalie gave a slight nod to the boy and gestured towards the door.

"Just close the door on your way out."

The boy beamed confidently, thinking that he had successfully threatened Rosalie to keep her mouth shut.

He headed towards the door and remarked while passing me, "You know, you're not too bad, I'll forgive you for bumping into me today. Have fun with your girl."

He winked at her from behind the door as it was closing.

Rosalie waited a few seconds for his footsteps to fade away before throwing herself onto the bed.

She laughed so hard that her sides felt like they were splitting. Tears were coming out and she was trying to muffle her laughter to not be a bother to any of her neighbours.

What just happened?

After a couple more minutes of the laughing fit, Rosalie calmed down a little and laid on her back hugging a pillow. She hadn't laughed like that for a long time.

She couldn't wait for her uniform to come, just so she could shove it into his face. She wasn't offended that he thought that she looked like a boy, she thought so too with her messy hair and clothes, but his expression would be priceless.

It was a pity that she couldn't catch his name, he seemed like an amusing fellow.

Rosalie got up from her bed and walked barefoot across the cold floor to her window, making sure to lock it securely.

She didn't want any repeats of the previous incident, even if it was entertaining, it could've had a riskier ending if there had been a more ill-intended break-in.

High off the commotion, Rosalie wasn't sleepy at all.

She decided to game a little to dampen her adrenaline, or at least use it efficiently. She got her laptop from under her bed and brought it to her desk.

Rosalie checked her emails while TLW was loading.

The schedules were sent out a few weeks ago to each student. Since Rosalie was a special case, the headmaster gave her special permission to enter any course she chose, other than the essential ones which were already chosen for her, and give the teacher a letter from the headmaster outlining the situation. It didn't really matter to her which courses to choose; she quickly glanced over the course list and chose a few random ones that fit into her timetable and memorized their times and locations.

Since the entrance ceremony is tomorrow, there won't be any classes and the students would be given time to socialize and get to know each other as well as explore the club fair.

Rosalie played TLW for a few hours before retiring to bed and setting her alarm for 7:00 am.

It had been a while since she had slept this well, it was truly a hectic day.
