It has been two weeks now and Paul is still missing. Elizabeth was beyond angry but she kept it in. Funny enough, her anger was not because the pack abuses her emotionally after her search for Paul, it was not because they will send her into the rain at night to sleep even though it hurts that all her mate could do was fold his arms and let the abuse continue. She was not angry because of that, Elizabeth loved nature and she knew she was safe as long as she was in the pack ground but what made her blood boil, what made her annoyed is the fact that Paul's family cared.
She wondered, is this what took them to notice? The possibility of his death actually made them care. Elizabeth couldn't take it anymore when Paul's mother was crying loudly, "Seriously Fraya, you are giving me headache. Don't tell me you actually care?".
Elizabeth was in the Alpha's office with Alpha Max, Luna Claire, Marianne, Alpha Prince Kyle and Paul's family. They had called her to at least give them any information she knew about Paul but seriously Elizabeth wasn't yielding to their interrogation and even the emotional torment isn't doing anything to help matters.
All of them looked at her, they couldn't believe their ears. Elizabeth never talked back at them no matter what and that made them question her hearing as well as her sanity.
Even though she had displayed something similar to Alpha Max, he was still surprised.
Beta Colton growled, "Who are you to tell us that?".
Elizabeth smiled, a frozen one. She was not ready to be lectured not by anyone at this moment much less by an arrogant spoilt bastard, "Oh shut up, do you even acknowledge the fact that he is your brother. FYI, I have every right, I have been there for him just as he has always been my supporter. We have never done anything wrong and always do according to everyone's bidding......". She stood up and walked away.
Everyone were frozen on their chair when Elizabeth turned before she opened the door and said, " But for him, I am ready to bend the rules". She opened the door and left.
"What just happened?". Marianne asked surprised. "Who is she?". She continued breathlessly.
No one noticed that Kyle had slipped out. He was following her until they got to the meadow. It has been days before Elizabeth has gone to the meadow but she knew it will remind her of him so she avoided going to the place.
"Go back". Elizabeth said leaning on one of the trees as she was looking forward. She could feel his presence since she left Alpha Max's office and even though she had wanted him to suffer for everything he had done, her body keeps betraying her.
"I am not. You are my mate. You are hurting yourself as well as you are hurting me". Kyle said concerned.
She was furious, how dare he. She turned to face him and said. "If you don't remember, I will remind you. You rejected me the exact day and time you met me. So darling, you lost the right to call me your mate".
Those words hurt Kyle, a lot. He had no idea this was how she would feel until now. He loved her, he needed her. He stepped closer to her and felt hurt when she stepped back. "Okay then, have it your own way". He said angrily as he left the place.
Elizabeth watched Kyle as he left and wiped the tears of her face angrily. She knew the bastard was only being pitiful. What else had she expected? That he magically falls in love with her? She laughed at the absurdity as her hand reached to her neck and discovered her locket was missing.
Elizabeth got back to the pack house in the evening when she saw something that broke her heart all over again. Marianne was on Kyle's laps in the sitting room as they were talking to the Alpha. Elizabeth pretended to be fine as she was almost out of there before Marianne stopped her. "Cook the food". She said and turned back to her father. Elizabeth scoffed and went to the kitchen.
An hour later, Elizabeth was through with the pack food and served everyone.
Kyle was holding Marianne's hand as she was brushing her breast on his arms trying to get his attention. Kyle couldn't concentrate, he wanted to make Elizabeth jealous but he couldn't even get her to look at him. He wanted to back out when Marianne said, " Back off Ashley, stop ogling him. He is mine and I am going to be his Queen". Marianne shouted.
Kyle looked over to Elizabeth and saw her holding back her tears. He couldn't help but sighed as his wolf kept on chanting the word stupid in his head. He wanted to make things right and was ready to untangle himself from Marianne's hold but was clearly unsuccessful as each attempt, the young witch kept on moving closer to her recent obsession.
"How sure are you?". Ashley said smirking as she was walking close to Kyle. Ashley knew the consequences but what she wants, she gets.
"He told me". Marianne lied.
Elizabeth couldn't take it anymore as her broken heart wasn't mending so she retired to her room after she was through with the chores. Of course, he has to move on, she thought bitterly.
Kyle was looking around for Elizabeth but couldn't find her. He had already settled the case between Ashley and Marianne by saying. "My Queen Luna is the woman made for me and it certainly is not any of you". He shouted silencing the two girls. No pin drop could be heard.
Kyle could feel Marianne and Alpha Max's pain with his words but he could care less. As an Alpha king, he can sense the bond of everyone in each pack. He looked round for the person that stole his heart, the person's pain he could feel above anyone else.
Her scent was getting stronger as he got nearer, he was about to knock when he noticed the change in her scent, it was mixed with that of a man. Kyle was angry as he pulled the door opened. He saw a guy massaging his mate's hair and Arthur was fighting for control.
"Who are you?". He said in his Alpha's voice but the stranger smiled and vanished in thin air. Kyle was worried, what if he comes back?
