Chapter 9 - CHAPTER EIGHT

Paul didn't even flinch and he looked straight into Kyle's face and said. "You should have been there when she needed you the most. This order was meant to be done when she was here and not in her absence". Paul left when he couldn't take it anymore and minutes later, Kyle went for a run.

He wasn't himself. It was like a part of him was taken away from him and there was nothing he could do. Kyle was in his black wolf form. His wolf was beautiful, tall and brought out an aura of power.

Kyle heard a twig snapped and turned his back before he saw a pair of black eyes staring at him before it disappeared into thin air.

He ran to the pack house breathlessly as he immediately mind linked everyone in the pack to stay in their house. He couldn't talk to his father since they weren't on a good term at the moment, the royals live in the US and he flew to Canada as his father requested to visit his regent queen.

"Hey father". He said when his father picked on the second ring.

"Hey son". The father said irritated. Kyle knew he was interrupting something as his mother giggled in the back ground and his father took time to answer.

"They are here!!!".

Three words, a powerful meaning. The Cayades are known to be blood suckers werewolves. They have no feelings as they kill for fun. Their eyes are pure black which signifies trouble.

"How did they get here?". Damien, Kyle's father said.

"The Cayades were supposed to be under lock and key. They were all summoned by the witch, Medusa who caged them in a basement using a spell a decade ago". Kyle said.

"There is only one possibility son, she is dead". Alpha King Damien sighed on the phone knowing this was the beginning of war.

"Why can't anyone else take over? She should have a successor who could have helped out?". Kyle asked frustrated. He was nine years old when he had his first encounter with them, a year before they were under Medusa's spell. Luckily for him, his father was there.

"The question is, what happened to her?". Alpha King Damien said thoughtfully.

"What do you mean? Do you know her?". Kyle asked suspiciously. King Damien sighed.

"Son, there is an important message from the council. All werewolves' heirs are to go to the Academy for two months training. The message was given two days earlier so that means they had escaped long before we knew". Of course, the council are aware of it so they are taking preventive measures.

"So the ceremony date is shifted but why two months?". Kyle asked doubting the fact that two months training would be enough to fight the Cayades.

"Two months might not be enough but understand that the Cayades won't wait till you attack".

They ended their conversation and Kyle slumped down on his bed. "Why?" he breathes out. He just lost his mate and now a threat.

He gasped remembering the fact that Elizabeth was on her own. He knelt down and said, " Dear Father, I do hear Elizabeth do say happily that you love and guide her. I pray you continue to do so and bring her back to me. Amen". He ended and walked to Max's office wanting to discuss about the Academy as well as the Cayades.

"My daughter can't go". Alpha Max said.

"You are scared for her. She isn't going to be the only girl much less the only female Alpha, there is Emily".

"I don't know". Alpha Max sighed.

"Marianne would have to go to the Academy, she can barely safe herself more less a population". Luna Claire argued.

Kyle opened the door as he saw Claire sitting on Max's seat as Max kept on pacing and was pulling his hair.

"Max". Kyle called out. "She will be okay; we will survive this".

"Hope you are aware that the Cayades are blood suckers, are you sure she will survive it?".

"Elizabeth, a girl I loved said something to me once, if God wants you to live, even if thousands attack you, He will protect you". Kyle smiled as he remembered that was one of the days he had a nice conversation with her.

FLASHBACK

She was at the clearing sitting all alone. She was hurt. Kyle looked round searching for any form of danger but so far none.

He leaned on a tree as he took in her beauty. She had her black straight hair worn in a ponytail as she sat with her legs crossed. Her oversized purple shirt covered half of her black shorts.

Elizabeth could feel someone boring holes at the back of her head as she turned to see Kyle smirking at her. She stood up and dust herself as she walked over to where Kyle was.

"What are you doing?". Kyle asked and Elizabeth shrugged.

"Nothing". She lied.

Kyle narrowed his eyes. "I know you are lying. You've been like this for the past one week. He is not even your mate and you care for him like one". He was raising his voice as he was proving his point. He was angry as his eyes turned silver.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes. She moved closer to lean closer to the tree where Kyle was as they fell into a comfortable silence.

"Why?". Kyle whispered voicing out his worries.

Elizabeth knew what Kyle was talking about as she placed her hands on his cheeks. "You will understand when it is time".

Elizabeth moved away from him as she resumed her initial position. "I will call a warrior to stay with you".

He was about to turn when Elizabeth stopped him and said. "If God says I will live even though thousands are against me, He will protect me". She said. He saw a tear falling as she turned away to face her earlier position.

Kyle wanted to move close to her. She is hurt and he needs to feel her. His wolf has always been silent whenever they are next to her, he has no general theory for why?

He left her while clutching his heart. This is the first time Elizabeth had a civil conversation with him and his heart was beating like a crazy teenage boy whose crush offered him a smile for the first time.
