Chapter 30 - Chapter 10

"Nothing much. He warned me about tonight, told me to get out of the house, and then gave me this neckless."

"That's all? You were out their a long time?"

"Most of the time I was fighting to get away from him. He mentioned something about his daughter and that I looked like her."

"Olivia, if you're holding out information on me then just know that it won't…."

"Do I?"

"Do you what?"

"Do I look like her like really look like her or was that also a lie cause you said that's all he does?"

"I didn't say…Now that I think of it, you do in the face."

"So he was telling the truth? What happened to her?"

"She disappeared."

"Their has to be more to the story than that."

"You really want to know? You're touching that bracelet like it's your stress ball."

"Just thinking. This bracelet must've gone though a lot if you say he never took it off."

"I guess you're right. That bracelet has been through a lot. Twenty years ago before…..all of this, Jim was walking his youngest and only daughter, Emily, backstage through a circus. The ringleader stopped him a sec to talk to him about a proposition he had made earlier. His eyes wern't off her for more then a minute but that was enough."

"Enough for what?"

"Enough for the lion to escape his cage and give chase. The two turned and chased the lion who was chasing the girl who was chasing the woods. By the time they caught up to the lion, he had a piece of her shirt in his mouth and a drip of blood fell off. Jim got mad, the ringleader tried to apologize but Jim wasn't having it. Later that night one of our first on the scene discovered the ringleaders body...surrounded by all his lifeless animals beside him."

"Was it Jim?"

"We thought so but no evidence was matched towards him."

"Who was it matched too?"

"No one knows. Records have been lost for decades and so has his daughter. She must be a young lady about now. That is, if the lion didn't get her first."

"Whe…uh…what happened to the tent?"

"No one wanted it for it was a crime scene but Jim said he would love to hang out to it, even for sentimental appeal."

"And you let him?"

"Who were we to stop a grieving man?"

"DINNERS HERE. Still no sign of Olivias family nor Jims band. Maybe we spooked him off for good."

"He'll be back."

"Olivia, what did you say?"

"I…I said she'll be back."

"Who"

"Emily!! I'm going to find her and I'm going to give her this."

"Jim would never just abandon anything before. Keep your eyes peeled but remember to switch on and off. I need you all at your best."

"Yes sir."

"Ohhh boy. Who's hungry for some chicken?"

"I'm not hungry."

"Not hungry? They even gave us some barbeque chicken tenders, but if you don't want them then….."

"GIVE IT!!!!"

"Someones hungry tonight. Don't worry, Olivia. If he tries anything again, we'll be there waiting. You can count on that."

"It's going to be a looooong night for all of us."

"We'll get him, Olivia;and bring him to justice. All of them."

*tii…ti…ti…droooom.*

"Charlie, are you ok? Is anything hurt?"

"Everyting's fine. Everythings fine. In fact...your bracelet?"

"Huh?"

"Where'd it go? Did a snag on a branch? We need to go back."

"Charlie, no. No ones going back."

"But you are. I heard you all talking."

"You heard that?"

"Sorry."

"It's okay, kid. I'll take you home."

"What about Boss? He'll rip you a new one again."

"I'll be alright. It's him I'm worried about."

"Why?"

"Just promise me you'll get your rest and forget all about this in the morning? Oh, here's what's left of my beef jerky. Don't eat it all in one sitting."

"I won't. Thanks, Jim. You take care of yourself now. I'll never stop worrying about you. If Emily were here, she would be proud of the man you have become today. Night!!"

"I don't think she would, kid. I don't think she would."
