Chereads / Tightrope tension / Chapter 32 - Chapter 01

Chapter 32 - Chapter 01

"'Ever notice the word, 'rough' in through? There is truth to that. Though the way may be rough, we are still able to get through.'"

-Anthony Liccione

"Did we escape them?"

"I don't see them anywhere."

"Good.

*Huuu…haa…Huuu….haaaaa…

Cause I need to catch my breath.

*Huuuu….haaa…*

Those gym classes…..

*Huuuuuuuu*

Really.

*Huuuuuu*

"Paid off."

"Jewels. Jewels. Stay with me, Jewels."

"I'm sorry, Girls. Should have just taken Mars myself. No need to drag you in on this."

"Olivia, it's not your fault. Did anyone bring Jewels inhaler?"

"There was too much firepower, we just went."

"Then we have to go back."

"And risk..…"

*Tap…tap*

"I think Mars is trying to tell us something. You got something, boy?"

"Looking for this?"

"Olivia, what did he just say?"

"He says he took the Inhaler out of split thinking. It was either that, or his Unicycle. Thought it would be easier to carry the Inhaler. Less noisy. Plus, our safety is more important than his riding again."

"He said all that?"

"Ummmm…."

"It doesn't matter what he said, just what he did. Thank you, Mars.

Here you go, Jewels.

*Shake, shake, shake*

*Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuaaaaauuuuhhhh*

....Now, what about us? What do we do now? We can't go back, we can' go to the Police, and..."

"We didn't even tell our parents."

"Jewels, they weren't home."

"That's no excuse."

"You're right, Analise. Sorry. It's just....the Farmer saw us fleeing with Mars, so now they think we are accessories to the Kidnapping."

"But we're not. Wilson knows that."

"Can't lie with witnesses. Wil wasn't there. Just his word against another."

"Then what do we do?"

"Olivia, what's on your wrist?"

"Oh this? Bones gave it to me. Said it belonged to his daughters. Looks flashy, doesn't it?"

"You still believe him?"

"Why would't I? I know there's something bigger going on. Something much bigger than all of us. I can feel it. I can feel it in my...."

*Grrrrrrrrrrr*

"That's.....called your Stomach."

"Kristin!!!!!!!!!"

"Mars!!!!!!"

"Olivia, are we missing something?"

"The Kidnappers killed Mars and stole his siblings, then left before they could get him.

Thank you for rescuing her, but.....how?"

"Where are the other Elephants?"

"And who are you?"

"....Why do you have my Dads bracelet? I gave it to him, not you."

"I asked who are......"

"You're supposed to be dead."

".....Bones daughter?"

"You know my dad? Where is he? Can I see him? When can I...."

"It's best if you keep your distance. Whenever a Kidnapping happens, he loves to ghost."

"Kidnapping?"

"Or.....a failed one. Thanks for rescuing Mars' family. As much as you could."

"No problem.

Water?"

"Thanks."

"Wait, wai, wai, wai, wai, wait. You....were presumed dead."

"I was."

"When the Lion grabbed you. We found your clothes. All tattered and blown. So how...…are you not dead?"

"Call me Jane, or call me insane; cause these animals are to claim."

"You steal for them too?"

"Give back their kindness. I only take what I need, don't worry. And the best way to give back is to bring the dead back to life. Pochers keep coming in, taking Baby animals, raising them, and then selling them. I do my best to attack the Trailer before it can get too far away, but I am only one girl. I don't speak animal."

"Olivia does."

"What? No. I..."

"I see."

"So the ring Olivia was talking about...was real."

"Was? You mean, 'Is!!!' Course, I can only catch them after. Would be nice to catch them before the plan even takes place, but that would require an extensive amount of know how, I just do not…..know how."

"Well, we can't take Mars back to Alena. I know she would love to see him again, but I don't know about Hezekiah."

"Here we go."

"Analise, I'm serious. How else did the Kidnappers get in? I've seen more emotion from Alena than I have from him. And only he knows where, when, and how long the animals are caged. It has to be."

"He's not a Rat."

".....Maybe not, but the police certainly are."

"Jane."

"How else are you able to sneak these weight bearing creatures past security and customs? We can't go to the police, and we can't go home. I say we..."

"Wilson!!!!"

"What?"

"Wilson!!!"

"Rookie cop, Wilson? He's a cop, right?"

"What gave that away?"

"Trust us, he's a good guy and can help us."

"Help us with what? We have no evidence. We're no better off then the men in Blue. Catch the guys after the fact, and have nothing to nail them with before. If only there was a way. A way we could.....we.....lure them out somehow. Somewhere where they are comfortable to talk. Then we nail them."

"Like bait?"

"Exactly."

"And you expect them to just waltz up to us and shout off their feelings? How do we even find such Bait?"

"And where?"

"........I'm looking at where. Just don't know how."

"........We need a tent."

"And a way to broadcast."

"I'm telling you girls, we need Wilson. More than he needs us."

"And why would he help us? Why not just take Mars for himself? Level up in the world. You know how men are."

"But do you know how we are? We don't know the first thing about owning a Circus, buying animals, or even training animals."

"All we do is pet them, and keep them calm after the show."

"Dad says we are too young to showcase."

"Which he's right. What if we get caught? How do we hide ourselves.....from stage?"

"Clown suits. And come on, Girls; you're daughters of Mr. Vanilla. That means you have to have the blood in there somewhere."

"What about you?"

"Bones turned into a Ringleader after....I was attacked, so that he can make sure it never happens to anyone else."

"Again, Wilson. Even if he's our one and only friend."

"I…..uhhhh...…..I…"

"Please?"

"....What can we even offer him?"

"......A chance to catch the bigger fish. Do something no one else was able to. That has to amount to something, right?"

"And how do you suppose you make him believe us?"

"........We need to lure him in with fish."

"Oh no."

"Give him what he wants, but only him...…in a private, exclusive interview with your dad. Time to hear his side of the story. No more running, no more hiding, and no more masks."

"And I take it you want me to convince him for this interview?"

"Yes!!!"

"I haven't even seen the guy in over twelve years. Look at me; will I even be able to recognize him? Will he be able to recognize me?"

"The fact that you haven't resorted to grunting, tells me yes.....everything will be fine."

".......I thought you said you didn't know where he was?"

"I didn't say that. I said we shouldn't disturb him, unless we have to.

….I think seeing his Daughter is the best emergency of all."

"What do you think, Mars? Ready to hit the high ropes again?"

"Tarin your sister to do the same?"

"Mmmmmuuuuuuuuuuu......aaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy."

"I take that........as a yes."

"But first, we gotta get Jane all diled up. Nothing is more important than hygiene."

"Well, except family bonds."

"Which means....this is of the utmost...…importance."

"What about getting caught?"

"You risked limb to save your sanity, Jane. A quick shower on our end wouldn't hurt."

"Before we go anywhere you can't run on an empty stomach. I don't know if you haven't seen, but it is nearing nigh. Let's hit the Caves before it gets worse. Also, Lions don't like me being late."

"I'm sorry."

"Lions?"

"I made my peace a long time ago. People say animals fight in Packs, but even animals fight their own for stepping out of bounds. And boy...am I grateful."

"You got a nice reward out of it."

"I'll say. This Cave is massive."

"We have no sleeping bags, so you're gonna have to cuddle with the Lions."

"Uhhhhh."

"Roaawwwuuaaarrrrrrr."

"Ummm....Ok."

"Don't worry, they're not going to bite you. If anyone wants Fish, I'll be cooking it over here. Careful, they're hot."

"Thanks."

"Then if nothing else, make yourself comfortable. It's gonna be a long night.

Whooooo."

"Yes, Jane. Thank you."

"......You're welcome, Wilson. Sorry I couldn't find the Kids."

"What was that? Did you find Mars?"

"Uh...no.

I'm gonn have to call you back. Keep me posted.

*Click*

"Word says that he was at Vanilla's home. Claws men were there, werent they?"

"Yes."

"Then where's the Elephant?"

"He's..."

"Sir, look at the bright side. By this rate, we'll put Claws out of business and in a fit of desperation, he'll have to turn to us. Just got a few more of his men in custody. Course they are not talking, but I know with your methods, they will cough up anything."

"Thanks."

"Don't mention it, Rookie. I'll let it slide this time."

"....Fine. You're right. You're right.

…You're right. We should celebrate the small wins for they don't come around too often. Get them into Interogation rooms F, A, G, and D. I want to know EVERYTHING....they know. Make them earn their glass of water."

"Yes, sir."

"And you...…..Wilson."

*Gulp*

"Yes.....Sir?"

"Find those Kids. The Kids lead you to Mars. Without any family, they will be led to Bones, for he is the only one they trust."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Don't talk back to me and do as I say. I'm right about this. They are not going to be able to make it on their own."

"I feel like you want me to find the Kids, just to reap Bones as a reward. What about their reward?"

".....Fugitives get no reward. Tell the family that they are safe. Missing.....but safe."

"How can they be missing and safe?"

"Just...…go."

"You didn't say please."

"GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Right away, Sir."

"Urrggghhhh. Where'd we even get this guy?"

"I believe you....asked for him from the Academy...personally, thanks to his character and overachieving nature."

"Then don't make me regret that."

"You want me to follow him? He was our scout before we sent the others in, and he was the one that gave us the tip."

"That's just it. He did everything by the book......so why did he let the main two suspects escape?"

"I don't think he did."

*Snap*

"....Find out for sure. I don't want any Rats in our Ring."

"....Yes...…Sir."

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

"We're closed."

"Please, it's an emergency."

"I don't open to Homeless. Now shuu."

"We're not homeless. We're....

*Errrrwiiiaaaannnnkk*

Looking for a shower."

"And maybe some makeup to help our friend. Please?"

"Hey, I know you. You're Vanillas girls, aren't you?

.....And that...….that...…..that's Bones girl.

Ummm......…..Come inside. Hurry. Before they see you."

"Before who sees us?"

*Close*

"They won't stop until they find you. This aint the movies, girls. Police aren't going to give you a headstart to leave the city. Nowadays, they got the Gods eye everywhere. Nowhere is safe. When they say they are hunting someone, they mean....Now. Not later....now. The only time they offer a reward is if they can't find them, but that is rare."

"Not according to….."

"I told you not to watch those."

"Sorry."

"Tv rots your brain and gives you a fasle sense of illusion."

"Is that why you….."

"Mrs. Pots."

"Have an indoor relaxation Spa?"

"I take my calming very seriously.

Aaay…ayy…ayy, aaaaeee.

No dipping your dirty feet in my clean water."

"Sorry."

"You may not be homeless, but you are not humans either."

"Yes we are."

"Then where are your manners?"

"Our...….oh yes. Sorry. Mrs. Pots, thanks for letting us clean up in your Spa."

"Staying open this late….."

"And keeping our secret."

"Actually, I stay open for the late night workers. A few Cops are scheduled to come here in order to destress before they hit the bricks."

"Cops!!!!!!!!!!"

"Here!!!!!!!!"

"How many?"

"They'll be here in thirty. I was just preparing everything for them. You....should be out by then, shouldn't you?"

"We're girls. We say yes, could be no; could be...I don't know."

"But we'll try our best."

"Use my rooms in the back. Their is a door behind there, but it;s only for emergencies. One way in, one way out. Keeps the warmth in. But....if you really are in a pinch, we do have windows installed that we are told never to lock. Helps keep the duff out so we're not baking like an oven in here."

"Uhhh....Thanks."

"Here's some Robes. Help you blend in if time needs it. I don't know if I have many clothes here, but…..let me go home for a sec and pick up some of my daughter's old stack. Should be back soon."

"Did she just…."

"She just...."

"She did."

"She must really trust us."

"Or….she baited us and are calling her Cops."

"Jane, don't say that. I refuse to believe kindness is staged."

"Animals aren't the only kind species, Olivia. We are animals too."

"Yeah, but we don't have four legs. I think when God was making us he had to cut off some sacrifices."

"Let's just hurry up and get out of here before the Cops show."

"You heard her. We're not going anywhere until we have clothes."

"We have clothes."

"More...….decent clothes."

"Oh."

"And I don't want tto run around in a Bathrobe."

"I told you girls, we can wait till morning, but you said no."

"Didn't want to give you time to change your mind. Keep it fresh, look your best."

"No matter the risks."

"Thankfully she didn't ask why we wanted to clean up, or where Mars was."

"Shh. She may not believe in tech, but I promise you there are Cameras here. Whether hidden or not. Let's just get changed and clean up, fast."

"There is nothing fast about a shower."

"Then while we wait, we plan."

"What if we do it here?"

"What?"

"Well, all the Police will be here; which means that Wilson should be here. We have everything except Bones. If we're bluffing, we can promise Wilson that each and everyone of us will walk out of the stalls, directly into the line of fire....together."

"Together?"

"Together."

"You go shower. I'll get Bones."

"I guess it's true when they say all good things happen in front of a Mirror."

"Olivia, wait. What if someone catches you for stealing?"

"Seriosuly. That's what you're worried about right now?"

"Just trying to ease your mind."

"As Jesus says, 'Their is no such thing as a small sin.' But just to be safe…..I'll double tie it,"

"Oh thank goodness. For a minute I thought you wouldn't."

"Get Jane cleaned up, and when I come back; I want to see all of you looking your best. If Pots comes back before me, try to ask her if there are any rooms without cameras. For....privacy reasons."

"You got it."

"Good luck."

"And be safe."

"When was I ever reckless?

…Wait. Don't answer that."

".......Why not? I have my gun.

*Erwwwiiiaaaaannnnnnnk.*

Hello? Why are you....

Here?"

"Who is it?"

*Errrrwwwwiiiiiaaannnkkk....tish*

"What are you doing here, Olvia? How are you doing here? Why are you doing here? You shouldn't…."

"Hi to you too, Sir. Not many people have a second home; and owning a third means that you are either very very rich....or…..you're filthy rich."

"I get paid for keeping silent about the Ring. So what?"

"Bystanders are just as worse as the guy doing the killing."

"You want to take me to jail then? March me right down to Police holding?

"Uhh....something like that."

"I thought we were friends, Olivia? I shared my life with you. I saw you like my daughter. My own....daughter."

"But I'm not."

"Huh!!!!!!!!!"

"Here, take this bracelet back. It's not mine."

"Why?"

"So that you can give it to your daughter yourself."

"So, you found her? Is she ok? Where is she? Can I talk to her?"

"Ayy…aahhh….aaayy. First things first."

"What?"

"About that meet and greet with the police."

".......What do you want?"

"My sisters and I want to help take down this Ring."

"Haaaaaaaaaaaa. What do you have that the Big boys could want?"

"Mars......…and his sister."

"You.....freed his sister?"

"Your daughter did. Two natural bloods, I know that could price a very pretty penny, but…..in order to showcase them, we need money."

"And you want me to lend you money to form a Circus with just two Elephants?"

"No."

"Cause I can. You.."

"No. No. No. Mr. Bones, you cannot buy your way out of this one. Money cannot buy everything. Once the Police find your daughter, they will take her away from you and give her to a foster family. Label you as...neglectful parents."

"I am not."

"I know, and I promise you that won't happen. Wilson is going to give us the money."

"Haaaa. That guy is worse than me. At least me, you can trust."

"He's not dirty, Bones. In order to convince Wilson to give us all the supplies we need, he needs physical evidence that we can backup our promise of cleaning house."

"I told you. I'm a Bystander."

"Then you won't mind if you take thirty minutes sitting down one on one with Wilson and telling your story."

"At.....the Spa? All the Cops will be there."

"Yeah, and so will your daughter. If you won't do it for us, do it for her. Do you know what she said when we told her she'd see you again?"

"What?"

"Would he.....even recognize me? Please don't hold out forever, or else she will forget. Right now she is raised by Lions. Only you can help her be raised by humans. She was young when she was taken, but she is not young anymore."

"I see you have a plan to promise Wilson that what we say is true, but how do you know Wilson won't turn us in, first chance he gets? You may promise fish, but Police aren't men of patience. If they can find even a scrap of evidence, they will make it stick harder than gum. They don't wait for you to mess up twice. Only once."

"I told you. He's not dirty."

"That's your word vs. mine. Sorry, but I am going to bed. Leave me…

*Watishhh*

Remove your foot from my door before I cut it off."

"No."

"Please. Cause I will. You're holding me hostage in my own house."

"That's impossible."

"Your…..your......your disturbing the peace."

"I'm not loud. Although my sisters said I can be annoying."

"........You're not gonna move, are you?"

"Kids are like Robots. I can stand here all night if need be."

"Please move."

"Why?"

"Cause you're letting in the cold air, and I can't have a Statue as a witness."

"Huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means you will agree to do it?

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee."

"Under one condition. Wilson puts her in the right home. My second wife doesn't like children, which is the exact reason I married her. No accidental reminders."

"I can't guarantee that, but I promise I will try. I saw Wilsons patrol car making his rounds. Probably has to find us before he can join in the relaxation."

"Then let's not keep him waiting. That would be rude."

"Yes...…..That would be very rude indeed."

"I'm not rude, am I?

I was just talking back. Teachers say there is no such thing as a dumb question. That's all it was. I was asking my superior officers a couple of innocent questions. Teachers told me to expand my horizons, but once I got on the field, my Officers told me to stay in line. But how am I supposed to stay in line when I know to cross it, you have to squiggle?

..And I'm talking to a Donut who doesn't even know the first thing about lines. All you know..is *Boop*........how to shoot a hole right through. Yeah, that's what I should do. I'm not a muffin. I'm not a Cupcake. I'm a Donut. A holey.....question seeking cop in search of the truth."

"If the truth is that you're nice; then I am all for it."

"Hey, that's my donut."

"Aaaaachouuuum."

"I know, and it was good. Thank you."

"Olivia, what are you doing in my car? I can't be seen talking to you. You should be in the backseat."

"For what? Leading with my gut and not my head.

*Grrrrr*

Ummm."

"You mean, 'Stomach?' There are candies in the glove box."

"Thank you. So why are you talking to a Donut and not out looking for us...….like you're supposed to be doing."

"Cause I was asking the Donut for advice on whether I should or not?"

".............Did you just say you were asking the Donut for advice?"

"Uhhhh…."

"I thought you just said lead with your head and not your stomach. Guess we're not that different after all."

"What do you want, besides the desire to clean me out?"

"Aaaahcouumm….ahhcouuummmm…..ahhhcoummmm…..achhoummmm.

You're right about me cleaning you out.

Napkin?"

"Here."

*Wipe*

But I'm just visually showing you how we can clean out something bigger."

"A Candy store?"

"........A Candy factory."

"You're not looking to rob it, are you?"

"I need an inside man."

"And why should I help you?"

"Cause I'm gonna help you. For the truth.

Isn't that what you were talking with Donut, about?"

"Uh...….What do you want us to steal? Any flavor in particular?"

"You really are a Rookie. Cleaning out means to take everything...…they have."

"Oh. You want to pull a big heist, like a big big big heist. In order to do that, you need a crew, and not just an inside man."

"I was hoping you could provide that.

Oh, not the candy by the way; although I can see you have excellent taste. I want you to help me get more. In exchange....I will help you convince your Boss to loan you more money to buy….said candy."

"Keep talking."

"Meet me at the Spa in thirry minute, and I'll give you the all exclusive."

"I can't show there with emty handed. My Boss will block me for sure."

"Then don't let him now."

"I can't. He put a Tail on me, to make sure that I go nowhere near that place."

"Then he's a meanie. Not only is he preventing you from partaking in the fruits of your labor, but now an innocent bystander as well."

"There is no such thing as an innocent bystander."

"Nor is their with half credit. As my Coach says, 'All or nothing.' So....are you all or nothing?"

"You're asking me to gamble my career and risk it all, all because of you. Why? What do you have to gain out of this?"

"Sir, you may be gambling, but I assure you 'we' have more to lose then you."

"Wait....we? I feel like you're talking about more than just your sisters."

"See you tonight."

"How'd you get that robe?"

"As I said, 'See you tonight.'"

"I'll...…..bye then."

"So, what'd he say? Did he say yes?"

"No."

"So he said no?"

"No."

"So he didn't say anything?"

"Well........he did not not say something.

I did my best not to disclose anything. Don't show your hand too eary, or else others might call your bluff."

"....I'll call my boy Stan. That is if the Police don't already have him. He's the last one of my ranks that I trust, and that trusts me. He'll stand by the Spa ready to Valet Wilsons car away so that his tail can gain chase."

"Good idea. I see you're all or nothing, but isn't Stan an…."

"Their is no such thing as an innocent bystander. That boy has saved my butt more times than I can wipe."

"Ewww."

"He knows what he'll be signing up for."

".......and so do we."

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

You guys are early."

"It's a celebration. Not everyday do we catch a Red Flag. Is the water warm?"

"Just how you all like it? How many can I expect?"

"The whole Squadron."

"The whole.....squadron? You're not missing any? You sure two Cops can keep the late nighters calm until morning?"

"How'd you know those are the only ones we have out."

"I don't.

You just told me."

"Errrrrr..…Women. One day, Pots. One day. Men will have a third eye too."

"By the time you get your eye, we'll have wings.

Robes are in there usual space. Make yourself comfortable. But tonight....their are two rooms you cannot enter. My Office and one other."

"Oooh. Somebody else is holding a party?"

"Not a big one. Don't worry. They won't mind the noise."

"We'll...…do our best to be respectable."

"Thank you."

"No. Thank you. Beer is great, but sometimes...…"

"I know. You gotta set an example. After all, you are both rolemodels and parents."

"Exactly, but if it was my decision, I would still pick your place over a bottle anyday."

"Well, thank you. Much obliged."

"Just paying respect where respect is due."

"If you'd follow the Party to the Assembly, that would be appreciated. What are you celebrating tonight?"

"Must we have a reason? If you want to know, we just made the streets a little bit safer tonight. We might not catch them all, but being able to count...….I'd take that all day."

"Locker room is that way, and showers down the hall. I'm glad for your success. It's people like you that help me sleep better at night."

"What do you mean? You're open twenty-four seven."

"I sleep. Don't worry."

"I'll…..take your word on that."

*Knock, knock, knock*

"Let me be right back. I think someones calling for me.

*Knock, Knock, Knock*

"Olivia, maybe we are in the wrong place?"

"Shh. We're here. There is no going back now."

*Knock, Knock…*

"Olivia. Where have you…..hi, Mr. Bones."

"Ma'am."

"I'll….go see if I have a robe in your size. Your friends are in room B19 by the way. Third Sauna back."

"Thank you."

"I don't want any trouble now. Cops may be off duty, but that doesn't mean no badge, no grad. They are still just as much a Cop on duty, as well as off."

"Yes, Ma'am. We'll...keep the noise complaint down best we can."

"I wasn't talking to you."

".......Yes, Mrs. Pots. You have my word."

"Good. Then you can follow her, if that is why you are here."

"Thank you."

"Are you sure Olivia was able to get Mr. Bones? What if he doesn't show? What if she doesn't show? We should go."

"Go where? What if who doesn't show?"

"Olivia!!!!!

Mr. Bones!!!!!"

*Oof*

*Oof*

"How I missed you."

"Uhhhh."

"Erhermmm."

"...I wasn't gone that long, girls."

"We know."

"You said my daughter was here? May I see her?"

*Click*

" 'Sir, Wilsons car is pulling up right now; but he's stopped."

"Doesn't want to draw attention to his Tail. You know what to do. Pull him over and switch in the bathroom."

"Yes, Sir."

"Remember, don't let Wilson walk until he can no longer see the taillights of his Trailer."

"I got it. I got it. Not only am I younger, but I am more experienced."

"Erruugghhh.

*Click*

"While we wait for him to arrive, may I see her? Where is she?"

"He doesn't recognize me."

"Shh."

"I knew it."

".....Uhhh…..Mr. Bones. Instead of looking around, why not look in front of you? Your daughter may be staring at you, same as you are to her. Eye to eye."

"All of you are Vanillas girls. I'd know my girl when I see her."

"Da…"

"Shh."

"Now. I know all of your names, but not your faces. Don't tell me. I'll figure it out.

…..I thought you had a brother, not an extra sister?"

"Yes, but which one?"

"They all look so...her."

"You sure?"

"Positive."

"Sure about what?"

"Wilson."

"Let's get this over with before Stan ruins my car and blows my cover. Why am I here?"

"Scatter."

"Girls, wait. Where are.....

It's you. Olivia, I see her. She;s right there."

"Hi, Dad. Bye Dad."

"Wait. Where are you...."

"Let the girls go. Probably best they don't see what I am going to do to you......… Mr. Bones.

*Gulp*

For the record, you're a really hard man to find. If it weren't for the girls, we wouldn't even know you had a third home."

"One house for the husband. One for the Wife, and what can I say? Every guy has a mancave. Same goes with Wallets. Same goes with Accounts, and same goes with Money. Wish it were bathrooms too."

"I see.

Speaking of multiple money accounts, shall we talk?"

"When and where?"

"Here and now."

"....Boys, boys; you do not need to heat each other up. I called you here on behalf of Mars sake and all future Mars. Let the steam from the Sauna lift your spirits, and not your angry words."

"Aren't you supposed to be with your parents?"

"I go where I please, but I always keep them in my heart. Do you?"

"I certainly do.

Wilson, you blind? She asked you too."

"Oh. Uh….I...….I still have my parents."

"Watersprite?"

"Watersprite."

"I'm not a Watersprite. It's just...I felt the need to live with my parents because they...they…..they are getting older by the year and it's too expensive for a caretaker."

"That's life, Kid. You age. Don't use it as an excuse."

".......Shall we begin? I see you brought the big book."

"Don't worry, Mr. Bones. There may be a lot of questions in this book that other Police officers have been dying to ask you, but I only have one for you.

...….Why.......didn't you......look back?"

"You two boys get comfortable. I'll work with the thermostat."

"Report says Ringleader showed you a torn piece of a bloody dress...…..and you took him at his word? Is that why you killed him? Blame him instead of looking back? You didn't even make sure to verify his claims. And while we are at it, why didn't you look at the Animal Keeper? He was there that night, was he not?"

"Claims the shift before him left them unlocked."

"That's no excuse."

"I...….I...…..when we returned, he was gone. So naturally, anger goes off on the closest person. The Ringleader."

"Except by that point, you are no longer your own. When somebody snaps, it's hard to glue them back together. Why not focus on searching the woods instead of finding the Ringlleader? I know you are just one man, and your wife died leaving you with Child; but what kind of excuse do you have to tell yourself that would justify?"

"Wilson!!!!!"

"Sorry.

*Erherrmmm*

Olivia asked me down here because she wants me to help clear your name, so personal feelings aside, I have to ask. Where were you that night?"

"Wait, don't I have to place my hand on a Bible or something? Take an oath of secrecy."

"Uhhhhhh. I....I didn't grab a..."

"He promises secrecy, and to cross his heart."

"Olivia."

"We talked, and he said yes."

"I did?"

"If you lie, so much as hide the truth, or Wilson finds any scrap of evidence on you, I will have my sisters walk your daughter down to the open Assembly hall. There, Social Services will get involved and label you as Neglection. Remember that?"

"I didn't think you were serious."

"Regret not looking back now?"

"Wilson!!!!!!!!!"

"Sorry. Sorry, Personal feelings out."

"Yes....."

"Yes....what?"

"Yes, I do regret not looking back. I regret focusing my energy more on helping save other lives, then finding the life I lost myself. I regret all the stealing I had to do to stay in business, but you see; I had to, Wilson. I had to. In order to unscrew the lightbulb, you have to look at the back of the socket."

"Is that what you did?"

"My Boss found the Lighbulbs, I paid for the crew to unscrew the lightbulb. His crew walked in, took Lightbub, and I was left in the dark."

"So...so...….so how does that help me help you get clear?"

"Cause what Olivia says is true. I was out doing my runs at all of those. Paid to look the other. Never told where the animals came from. Just told that my Boss found a few more Giraffes, I go and pay for the Giraffes. Crew comes in with a trailer and takes Giraffes away. I didn't know they would burn every tent to make sure nobody else can buy the remainder. I swear.

So, on some trades; he wasn't even hiding the fact that the animals were endangered. On those trades, since I was the confirmation man, I would lie and say that our broker fell through and didn't want to deliver the goods after."

"They're not goods, Mr. Bones. They're animals. Flesh...blood…..bones….brains. ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Wilson!!!!"

"I swear on my daughter's life. I regret not looking for her, but Olivia showed me visual proof that she does exist. Just for a few minutes. In fact, I didn't even recognize her. If I had, I would have touched her. Second chances only come around once in a lifetime. You really think I would screw it up again? I just wish.....I wish...…I.....I wish I would have touched her. The first word I heard her say was 'Dad.'

That was also the last word she just now said."

"Here. Have a tissue."

"I'm not crying. It's just….the humidity. Olivia, can you turn down the temp, please?"

"Mr. Bones, if I may interject with my own feelings for a sec."

"Yeah."

*Sniff*

"Even grown men cry. That's not a myth."

"Thank you."

"So, I won't write you up for kidnapping and murder, but…"

"I know. I know. Their is no such thing as a Bystander."

"Don't worry. Your partners are getting life. You on the other hand, I will talk with my Superiors and for aiding with failure to do anything, I will try to give you reduced sentence. In eight years, you will have a chance for Patrol."

"Chance?"

"Mr. Bones. It's not guaranteed, but it's not life either."

"But what about my girl? Where will she go?"

"Back to where the Girls found her.

Actually.

*Click*

….Where...exactly, did you find her?"

"We didn't she found us. With her and her parents."

"I'm sorry. Parents?"

"Yeah. A small group of lions took her in. Attacked the one that ran after her. That's why when the Ringleader and Bones brought the Cub back, he had a scar. Too big for a four year old, and too deep for her claws."

"That's definitely Social Services worthy."

"Please."

"But....you didn't bring me here to talk about Bones. You brought me here to talk about you. He was just compensation, and his daughter was for him. So…..please sit. What can I do for you?"

"I need a tent. I need animals.....and I need a crew."

"Pass."

"What? Come on. I just set this whole thing up so that you could catch your fish. You gotta give me something?"

"I can't hand out fake licenses. Now you're asking me to look the other way."

"Just...help sneak stuff through."

"Olviia, you are the daughter of Mr. Vanilla, correct?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Following in his footsteps does not count as in person internship hours. You're gonna have to get your license another way. Money can buy anything and everything, but it can't buy knowledge, and I will not be foolish enough to let an inexperienced, amateur rogue group of girls dress up in clowns and play pretend. Even if it is to bait the bigger fish of this elusive Smuggling ring."

"But the Ring is real, You have to believe me. I have proof."

"Lady, we all have word to mouth proof, but even Bones is useless."

"Hey.

If you didn't see the act, then that means there is no act. Sorry."

"....I can lend my license."

"That's like a father giving his gun to a kid. No. As I said, you can give materialistic things; not knowledge. I don't care how much you two trust each other; it's not just your lives on the line. These are real life animals, nor cars. If one of them breaks, it's on you. You just killed a life."

"Huhhh!!!"

"You can't just pay Two thousand dollars to get em fixed."

"I'll be extra careful. Promise...…..with a pinkie."

"Mrs. Olivia. Do you know why Schools exist?"

"Uhhh...To make us Smarter?"

"To make us prepared, and the little tiny piece of paper you get at the end, tells me that one hundred percent without a shadow of doubt that if I call the person who signed that little piece of paper; they will verify one hundred percent...….that you were there, and that they themselves are in a state to do just that. You see where I am getting with this?"

"Yes, Mr. Wilson."

"Good. Now, I won't let you catch the bad guys yourself, but if we do have Moles everywhere like you say...….

*Caclick*

...I'll let you help me flesh them out. It'll greatly help your senten….cessssssss!!!!!!!!!!!

So, who and where should I be looking?"

"I don't know."

"You don't.....Listen, Mr. Bones. You have to give me more or else I can't help you. The more the better. Don't be shy."

"Huuuuu.....whooooo.

The head of the Police force."

" 'The head of the….'

No. You can't be.."

"You said you trust me. I gave you my word. Why would I be lying? I saw his name on my bosses contact."

"Can't believe I am trusting the words of an accomplice. You better have evidence to back up these claims."

"As you said, 'we were all paid to turn the other cheek. Even you, Wilson, were paid."

"I...….."

"So who's on who's side now?

…Next is a few AnimalKeepers. I know, I know. The Ringleaders are the ones who scout the animals, but those are Kids. Keep them happy. If they want an animal and their parents won't get it for them; they search for it themselves. Once they 'find' one…they tell their parents to pick it up. Parent wants to silence the whining kid, so without second guessing where said kid found the animal, they just buy it."

"Then Parents are at fault."

"If a Kid throws a bag of candy on the Conveyor belt and you don't realize, is it your fault? You're not going to check every bag. Just get home.....become shocked by the receipt and add, 'What the hell did I buy that cost so much?' It's not until after that you find out."

"...Names."

"....Hezekiah."

"Alenas boy."

"Jalan."

"Finchs boy."

"Tigress."

"Tigers girl."

"And...…..Heroin."

"Of course the Playboy's son is in on it."

"Innocent but cute. His wits and charms....ayy….ahh. He's not smart enough to unscrew a pickle jar."

"Yet he drives?"

"See!!!!"

"Can it, Olivia."

"Oops."

"Ringleaders?"

"Thomas, Vanilla."

"Okay, That leaves T, Crawler, Euphrates, and Rose. Five and five. You gotta count yourself."

"My dads not a crook."

"Who paid for your son's medical bill?"

"My...…."

"Are we done here?"

"Not quite. I need you to...."

"PUT YOUR HANDS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Oh no. What was that?"

"I thought I'd find you all here, leisurely spending your night; instead of finding my lost Elephant."

"That's not good. Alena's here."

"But this is a…."

"She...pushed past me."

*Click*

"Sorry, Mr. Bones. He busted me. But hey...at least I got a free ride?"

"Don't move, Stan. I'll get you out of there."

"We might be able to get him out of there, but who is to get us out of here?"

*PIASSSSCHHHHH*

*PIASSSSCHHHHH*

*PIASSSSCHHHHH*

*PIASSSSCHHHHH*

*PIASSSSCHHHHH*

".........I think I know."

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…"

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…"

"Snap, snap. Snap, snap."

"Easy little kitties. Easy. Just everyone...calm down."

"Jane, did you tell your parents you were leaving?"

"Oops.

Guess they came looking for me."

*Push, Push...….Push, push*

"One of them is trying to get in."

*Push, push....push, push*

"Mmmmmmuuuuuuu….aaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy."

"I don't think...those are my Lions."

"Kristin....Mars."

"Don't you ever leave us out there in the cold again."

"You're not my parents.

*Oof*

...But thanks for waking them for me."

"Get…..these....animals...out of here!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"SHALLA......HILLAA

...….Kneel."

"That's....that...….that's..."

"But you're supposed to be dead."

"As you can see, I am not dead, but if you don't listen to me very very very very very carefully, you all will be."

"I'd listen to her if I were you."

"Mr. Bones!!!"

"Freeze!!!!!!!"

*Waaawhack*

*Tingatatadating*

"Wilson?"

"I thought I told you no there would be no trouble in my Spa. You gave me your word."

"Don't worry, Mrs. Pots. Listen to me, and there will be none."

"Girls!!!!"

"Mars!!! Come here you little…"

"Grrrrrrrr."

"Ouch.

Hey, tell your guard Lion to let me pass.

*Bap*

…That's what you get."

"I shouldn't have done that if I were you."

"Aaaahhhchuuasshhh*

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!"

"She bit me. She bit me. Alena, Police.....do something. Arrest her for acting as such."

"Hold."

".....Hezekiah, you did that to yourself. Mrs. Pots, please wrap that.

Now a Robot can be traced back to its owner, but only an animal can be traced back to its parents. No more. So I ask.....why do we separate them?"

"You know full well what we ask."

"And you have seen first hand what will happen if you try to lash out."

"Or...lack of hand."

"Analise."

"Sorry.

….Sorry, Hezekiah."

"Wait, what? No. Analise. What? No. No. You can't do this to….I thought that..."

"Put him in the car. Everybody else, step forward and let your partners cuff you. Don't be shy. We're all adults here. Time to set an example."

"..........Even you, Commissioner."

"Commisioner?"

"I.......

...Whooooooo.

I just want to say on the record that without me, these streets would not be safe. By knowing where and when they are, I can properly talk to traffic police, bus drivers, and pedestrians what are good times to get off the road, and which are good times to leave the City…..for everybodies safety."

"Every 'bodies!!!!!!!!!!!!' Or just yours?"

"Sorry, Commissioner. Nothing personal."

"You're gonna regret this, Wilson. You all will.

We kept you safe from the crazies.

The Crazies!!!!!!!!!

If the Clowns don't get you…..they will.

You hear me? THEY WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Come on, Cucko. To the Car with you."

"...Sorry for tailing you. I was just following orders."

"I know, Kid. I know."

"Hey, thankfully; we have enough cars."

"But now who drives them home?"

"Just for today.....Analise...…..Mrs. Pots.......Anela...…Bones......….would you help drive us back to the station?"

"Don't forget Stan."

"Stan?"

"Yeah. Don't forget me."

"Oh yeah. The slimy Weasel. Fine. You get a car too."

"Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa."

"Hey, if Stan brought you back in his car....then where is my car?"

"Uhhhhhhhh."

"STAN...…..LEYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!"

"I couldn't risk him driving off."

"You know what, Wilson. About that promotion?"

"Yeah."

"I think a new car would be better."

"Two cup holders instead of one?"

"Two cup holders instead of one."

"Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Welcome to Office, Commissioner. May your days be full, as our jails never empty."

"Well, I already got a start on filling a quarter, so I'd say my time is off to a good foot.

Thanks to these Girls.

.......And I promise.....every last one of those cells...…WILL.....be full....of Pochers, Smugglers, and Backstabbers.

Mark my words. I....Commisioner, Wilson...…..can promise you that."

"Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!"
