I wake up the next morning in my bed. I have no idea how I got there. I tried to sit up but the pain in my head is so severe that it forces me to lay down again. I try to remember what happened last night but everything seems to be a blur.
Then I remember a face and unfortunately, it is not Mikayla's face. It is the face of the woman that I hate. I finally now remember that I saw her face last night and I think that is the last thing I remember. Of course, I also remember that I got stood up by Mikayla.
Suddenly the pain of my head is not so painful as the memory of Mikayla not being there. Then there is a knock on my door. I clear my throat and with a hoarse voice, I say.
"Yes?"
It is Frank, my driver, that walks into the door. As far as I know, he doesn't make any house calls but he walks in with a tray of breakfast.
"If you will excuse me, sir but I thought that you might need something to eat?"
