Jessica drove her car to the parking space of Ricci Constructions. She was here first thing in the morning because of a possible meeting. She surely had got an appointment to meet the young CEO of the company. But she was also told that his schedule might jam with other appointments. Nevertheless, she has arrived to the company on time.
Jessica's assistant, Charlotte was already present at the company and was waiting for her boss to arrive. When she saw Jessica's car, she immediately jumped to her feet and walked towards the car. She helped Jessica to carry the meeting materials.
"Good morning, Ma'am," Charlotte greeted her.
"Come one, Charlotte. How many times have I said to you to call me Jessica and not Ma'am," Jessica said as they walked towards the elevator. Charlotte was her assistant even when Jessica was working in her now ex-husband's company. Although she did not have a higher position in that company, she gave her best to the work she was assigned to. When her divorce came through, she was left with nothing but a small apartment which she paid for by selling her jewels. Her ex-husband, Alexander Smith had literally thrown her out with nothing. He refused to pay anything for her since they did not have a child together. But Jessica was not the one to give up. She got loan from the bank and has begun her interior designing firm. Luckily, a few of her team mates from her previous company and Charlotte came to work with her.
So getting works from construction companies was the most thing now for Jessica. And scoring a contract from Ricci Constructions would be a huge plus for her resume and the company's reputation.
"I say that out of respect. You should not refuse it," Charlotte smiled at Jessica making her laugh lightly.
"I hope that we can score a contract with Ricci Constructions. It would be such a blast for us," Jessica said nervously. She was pretty stressed about her situation.
Charlotte placed her hand on Jessica's shoulder and said, "Don't worry. We will make. Just relax." Jessica did not feel relaxed but she was glad to have Charlotte by her side.
The elevator opened at the 25th floor of the building. To tell that the building was huge and extravagant would be an understatement. The building was practically a heaven. The interior and exterior was made of glass and the sun shone his rays inside making it more bright and fresh.
They walked towards the receptionist, who was busy on the phone. The receptionist signaled them to wait for a minute. They nodded and stood there, and looked around the floor. There were no employees on this floor. There were barely 2 or 3 offices on this floor out of which one was the CEO's.
The receptionist disconnected the phone call and turned towards them. She smiled at them and said, "Wait a second. I will phone to the CEO and ask if he is fine to meet you now."
"Sure," they waited for a few seconds and the receptionist led them inside the CEO's office.
The office held a different kind of aura. The aura of power, one could say. A mahogany table and leather couches, small library and much more were used to decorate the office. Jessica was impressed by the interior of this particular office.
Leandro Ricci was young, and talented. His father had no doubt in his son taking the company to higher level than he had done. So giving him the position was difficult.
Jessica looked at the man who was seated in the CEO chair. He was tall, handsome, well built and sexy with no doubts. He could score 200/100 for his looks.
Leandro looked up from the file that he was looking at. His eyes caught Jessica the beauty. He had heard about her before and had met her once or twice years before he got into the company. It was mostly at parties or social gatherings. He was mesmerized by her beauty. He wondered how could she never change with her looks. She looked like the same beauty he had seen years before. She had not changed at all.
He cleared his throat and signalled them to take a seat in front of him. Jessica sat straight and spoke, "Good morning, Mr. Ricci. I am Jessica Miller and this is my assistant Charlotte. We are hear to talk to you about a possible work cooperation."
Her voice was soft and soothing. He was not shocked to hear her introduce herself in her maiden name. He wondered how could she marry a man like Alexander. Alexander is one of his business rivals and Leandro don't like him one bit.
"I know, Ms. Miller. I know that you are a very talent woman and I don't have to ask for your work samples. I have grown up seeing your works." That made Jessica blush a little. But she made sure that she did not get carried away by it.
"So, I wanted to ask you about the project which you are about to begin in the outskirts of the city. The resort project," she said softly.
"You seemed to have done a good research on us," he said raising his brows.
Jessica did not say anything but pointed her finger at Charlotte who did not even meet his eyes to explain how she was able to catch up with the information.
"Well, since you are know the news. You might as well know that we have a interior designing team at the company. So why do you think I should collaborate with you?" he asked. If he was to collaborate with them, he might have to get a nice explanation at the least.
"For starters, you already said that you have seen my works before. By that you could say that I am capable of doing a good job and I have knowledge in modern designs and also I have experimented with new products."
Satisfied with her answer, Leandro smiled at Jessica. She returned the smiled to him, hoping he would agree to collaborate. Leandro's heart skipped a beat when she smiled at him. At this moment, he knew that he would give her his everything if she asked him while smiling at him.
Charlotte's face lit up brightly seeing Leandro's smile. She was sure that they had scored a contract.
