Harry was thinking about what pet to bring to Hogwarts.
The letter stated owl, cat or frog, but Harry did not have any of those animals.
In the end he decided to go alone and once there, ask if the castle allowed hourses, dragons, cats, ghosts, demons etc before bringing someone. Alfred loved the idea of tagging along his master to school.
Harry packed his daedric armor,a few sets of clothes, his school robes, his new wand, his books, etc. Just the armor and the books took entrire trunks for themselves, and the armor alone weighted over 80 kilograms(176 pounds) making its trunk the heaviest of them all!
All set and ready to go, it was time to go to the train station. Harry said goodbye to Alfred and jogged there.
Why jog when there are cabs arround? well, first Harry does not have muggle money, as you can't just walk to a pawn shop and sell gold bars in the muggle world without its documentation. Second is that Harry did not know if the cars could take the weight of his luggage.(do remember that Harry lived in a cupbord for most of his little time in the muggle world. He does not know very well how stuff works for muggles)Third, is that jogging for hours wile carring heavy luggage is just a mild inconvinience for the dragonborn.
After arriving at the train station, Harry was supposed to, acording to the vision, wait near platform 10 for the family with fire-like hair to show him the way.(A/N:Do ya know da way?)
Harry stood there, completely still, ready to wait for days on end till the family arrived. Alas, it did not take even 5 minutes.
The family that arrived consisted of a plump woman, a small girl and four boys, all with flaming red hair. Each of them was pushing a trunk like Harry's in front of him, and they had an owl.
Harry:"excuse me, do you know how to get to the platform to Hogwarts?"
Red haired woman:"Hello, dear, first time at Hogwarts? Ron's new, too."
She pointed at the last and youngest of her sons. He was tall, thin, and gangling, with freckles, big hands and feet, and a long nose.
Harry:"Yes."
Red haired woman:"Not to worry, All you have to do is walk straight at the barrier between platforms nine and ten. Don't stop and don't be scared you'll crash into it, that's very important. Best do it at a bit of a run if you're nervous. Go on, go now before us."
Harry:"Thank you."
Harry then turned to the barrier and walked towards it, not stoping once he reached it.
Harry blinked and all of a suden, he was at somewhere different. A scarlet steam engine was waiting next to a platform packed with people. A sign overhead said Hogwarts Express, eleven O'clock. Harry looked behind him and saw a wrought-iron archway where the barrier had been, with the words Platform Nine and Three-Quarters on it, He had made it to the train.
Harry:'I pity whoever tries to lean on that wall...'
Smoke from the train's engine drifted over the heads of the chattering crowd, while cats of every color wound here and there between people's legs. Owls hooted to one another in a disgruntled sort of way over the babble and the scraping of heavy trunks.
The first few carriages were already packed with students, some hanging out of the window to talk to their families, some fighting over seats. Harry pushed his cart off down the platform in search of an empty seat.
Harry pressed on through the crowd until he found an empty compartment near the end of the train. He put one trunk inside first and then started to shove and heave the second toward the train door.
???:"Want a hand?"
Harry turned arround and saw one of the boys from the red haired family who helped him.
Harry:"No need, thanks."
Harry efforlessly tucked away his trunks in a corner of the compartment.
???:"Wow. You are quite strong for a eleven year old."
Harry:"Thanks."
???:"Name is Fred, if you need anythi- Hey,What's that!?"
Fred said suddenly, pointing at Harry's lightning scar.
Harry:"It is a scar I have since forever."
Fred:"Are you harry Potter?!"
Harry:"Yes?"
Fred:"Awesome!"
The boy gawked at him, and Harry felt himself turning red. Then, to his relief, a familiar voice came floating in through the train's open door.
Red haired woman"Fred? George? Are you there?"
Fred:"Coming, Mom."
With a last look at Harry, the boy hopped off the train.
Harry sat down next to the window where, half hidden, he could watch the red-haired family on the platform and hear what they were saying. Their mother had just taken out her handkerchief.
Red haired woman"Ron, you've got something on your nose."
The youngest boy tried to jerk out of the way, but she grabbed him and began rubbing the end of his nose.
Boy(Ron):"Mom geroff!"
Fred:"Aaah, has ickle Ronnie got somefink on his nosie?"
Ron:"Shut up,"
Red haired woman:"Where's Percy?"
Fred:"He's coming now."
The oldest boy came striding into sight. He had already changed into his billowing black Hogwarts robes, and Harry noticed a shiny silver badge on his chest with the letter P on it.
P(Percy):"Can't stay long, Mother, I'm up front, the prefects have got two compartments to themselves."
Fred"Oh, are you a prefect, Percy?"
he said, with an air of great surprise.
Fred:"You should have said something, we had no idea."
Fred2(George):"Hang on, I think I remember him saying something about it. Once ..."
Fred"Or twice..."
George"For a minute ..."
Fred"All summer long..."
Percy:"Oh, shut up."
George:"How come Percy gets new robes, anyway?"
Red haired woman:"Because he's a prefect, and all right, dear, well, have a good term.Send me an owl when you get there."
She kissed Percy on the cheek and he left. Then she turned to the twins.
Red haired woman"Now, you two, this year, you behave yourselves. If I get one more owl telling me you've- you've blown up a toilet or-"
George:"Blown up a toilet? We've never blown up a toilet."
Fred:"Great idea tho, thanks, Mom."
Red haired woman:"It's not funny! And look after Ron."
George:"Don't worry, ickle Ronniekins is safe with us."
Ron:"Shut up."
Fred:"Hey, Mom, George, guess what? Guess who I just met on the train?"
Harry leaned back quickly so they couldn't see him looking.
Fred?"You know that black-haired boy who was near us in the station? Know who he is?"
Red haired woman:"Who?"
Fred:"Harry Potter!"
Harry heard the little girl's voice.
Little girl:"Oh, Mom, can I go on the train and see him, mom, eh please...."
Red haired woman:"You've already seen him, Ginny, and the poor boy isn't something you goggle at in a zoo. Is he really, Fred? How do you know?"
Fred:"Asked him. Saw his scar. It's really there - like lightning."
Red haired woman:"Poor dear. No wonder he was alone, I wondered. He was ever so polite when he asked how to get onto the platform."
Fred:"Never mind that, do you think he remembers what You-Know-Who looks like?"
Their mother suddenly became very stern.
Red haired woman"I forbid you to ask him, Fred. No, don't you dare. As though he needs reminding of that on his first day at school."
Fred"All right, keep your hair on."
A whistle sounded.
Red haired woman:"Hurry up!"
Their mother said, and the three boys clambered onto the train. They leaned out of the window for her to kiss them good-bye, and their younger sister began to cry.
Fred:"Don't, Ginny, we'll send you loads of owls."
George:"We'll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat."
Red Haired woman:"George!"
George:"Only joking, Mom."(Is he realy?)
The train began to move. Harry saw the boys' mother waving and their sister, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed, then she fell back and waved.
Harry watched the girl and her mother disappear as the train rounded the corner. Houses flashed past the window. Harry felt a great leap of excitement.
