Chapter 56 - Bodt

The two attacks hit Ligi, cornering him into a sandwich. He used his wings as a protective armor around him to dampen the attacks of the flail and the umbrella. It wrapped around him as the two weapons collided with it.

Sparks flew over as the spikes in the flail created holes in his left wing and the umbrella tore a large part of his right wing. The two weapons continued to pierce the wings, reaching into his body that was protected by the reddish-black armor.

Ligi winced, affected by the pain induced by the two weapons. His wings were damaged, torn apart, and unable to displace the wind to keep him afloat. He tumbled down like a bird with its wings clipped.

Ligi crashed on the ground with both of his legs firmly planted on the ground. His wings turned back into a cape that had holes in some places. Blair also came down due to gravity as she used her umbrella to decelerate her descent.

Bodt walked forward with his flail in his hands. The chain retracted and the flail skidded on the ground, creating indentations in the soil indicating its weight and power. Blair retreated towards Isiah, still injured from the beating she got from Ligi's punched.

She faced Isiah and spoke to him as she bowed her head.

"Please let me heal."

Blair begged Isiah which garnered the attention of everybody. Isiah looked down on Blair as he shoved his hand in his pocket and fiddled with it. He took out a small spherical object that glowed in the dim light. Bang and Ligi immediately recognized the shining luster from the object that Isiah took out from his pockets. It was a Limaw essence.

The essence was smaller than the one Bang and Ligi saw but it had the same luster as before. The object that caused problems and almost got them killed appeared yet again in their sights. They fought tooth and nail to obtain the essence. Bang was sure that this essence would create chaos and pandemonium within the Steel Muscle group.

Bang saw Blaire take the essence from Isiah's hand and held it with both her hands. She enveloped her hands within it as the essence started to lose its luster. A visible stream of light went from Blair's hands towards her chest.

Her injuries started to heal as scabs covered up her cuts and her bruises regained their natural color. The essence lost its color completely as it turned into dust that dispersed in the air.

Blair was bow completely healed as she returned to her original position next to Bodt. She did not reject the help from Bodt since she experienced first hand how dangerous the demonic form of Ligi could be. She held her umbrella tight as she prepared to attack Ligi.

Bodt looked at Ligi and his muscles contracted, his flail danced in the dim light, creating wind currents that reached Ligi whose cape flapped to the beat of the wind.

He braced himself as he was now grounded, unable to defend from the attacks at the ground. Blair walked forward, making sure to display a smile on her face knowing that Ligi would soon be defeated.

She opened up her umbrella and gathered a cyclone inside it. It gathered into a miniature tornado that was ready to grow and devour like a hungry beast.

Bodt threw his flail in the wind as it dispersed into black powder that pranced in the wind. It gathered itself and created a thin wall of black powder that enclosed Ligi into a tight space.

The tornado inside Blair's umbrella launched towards the black circular wall surrounding Ligi. The tornado grew bigger as it absorbed the air around it until it was the size of the thin black wall.

The tornado continued to revolve into greater intensities as it gathered debris from loose soil. The suction from the tornado allowed some of the soil to gather beside the thin black wall, creating a brick wall of soil.

Ligi observed his surrounding, calculating his chances to survive the encasement. He punched the ground wall, only to feel a stinging pain from the scratches in his knuckles. The black powder created a thorny wall that prevented him from busting his way out through brute force.

Bodt and Blair closed in on Ligi, creating spears made of black powder produced from their hands. Four spears pierced through the wall and attacked Ligi which he could not dodge. He tanked it with his reddish-black armor but it was just too much as it penetrated through to his body.

They kept materializing spears from their hands as they continued to torment Ligi in a circular wall. The walls were now full of spears as both of them retreated away from Ligi. The walls started to disintegrate as it revealed the sorry state of Ligi.

Ligi's demonic form had was full of bravado and confidence was now turned into a bloody pulp. He was holding his gut as he was trying to prevent blood from pouring down his body.

"Hahaha...I don't know what kind of trick you used to gain that kind of power but you have no chance against both of us."

Blair taunted Ligi who was panting as hard as he can to try and gain his balance. His injuries were making him lose focus as he felt his consciousness fade away from him. His kneed buckled but he stepped onto the ground firmly into the ground as a counterweight.

"Don't insult the peasants, Blair."

Bodt immediately reprimanded her for trying to talk down on Ligi.

"It's not their fault for being this weak. It's the failure of their leader that led them to inadequacy."

Bodt spoke about a controversial topic within the Dreaded Valley. He spoke with a righteous tone like whatever he said was the truth. He firmly believed what he said and he didn't mean it as an insult. He said it in a matter-of-fact way which made the Ligi and Resi even more furious.

Throughout Ligi's fight, Resi was busy on the ground dealing with his problems. He truly furious at the insult barraged into the recently deceased Gotang because he knew that Gotang couldn't defend himself. He had to regain Gotang's pride even if he had to do it himself.

He closed his eyes, furious at the indignation. Once he opened his eyes, a bright light blinded his vision. He raised his hand as a shade to try and see his surroundings. The Dreaded Valley was filled with damp ground, foggy atmosphere, and dim lighting. The environment he was in right now was in direct contrast to what he knew reality to be.

His eyes adjusted to the light as he saw cube-shaped concrete buildings with no windows or walls. The buildings lined up neatly into rows and columns that seemed to repeat endlessly. He looked around, amazed at the monotony of the buildings.

The ground underneath him was nonexistent. More cubic buildings filled the bottom and the heavens of this strange world. Resi did not understand what was happening as he gathered his strength in his legs and ran through the buildings trying to find his way out.

This was a dream as this place that he was in right now was too absurd. He ran harder, testing the limits of this strange world that he was in. He ran and he ran yet it felt like he was not advancing in any way.

The same monotonous concrete buildings surrounded him, making him nauseous. Even though the world seemed endless, he felt constricted. He felt that he was tied down into one place, unable to advance any further. Due to his frustration, he went towards a building and punched it. His fist collided with the concrete building but it did not budge. There was no sound, no vibration as he didn't even feel pain from his knuckles.

"AAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!"

Resi voiced out his frustrations but his voice seemed to be absorbed by the buildings. He tried everything, kicking, punching, spitting, nothing could affect the buildings. There was just no way for him to get out.

"You won't get outtttttt"

A strange voice filled inside his head. This voice was cold, like a machine speaking to him. He looked around to find the source of the strange voice.

"Who are you? Show yourself and I'll fight you."

"Ha ha ha ha haaaa"

The voice laughed at him, like a parent indulging on a kid's delusion. Resi raised his fists and went into a punching position. His feet were jumping in fast intervals, ready to kick and at the same time be versatile.

"You're too weakkkkk"

"We'll see that after you show yourself!"

Resi felt chills on his spine the longer that he could not see the voice talking to him. He wanted to just burst out of here and try to expose the coward hiding inside the concrete buildings.

"Hohhh, you could not even fight for yourself. You couldn't fight for Gotang and now he died. You couldn't fight with Ligi and now he's about to dieeeee."

Resi's blood started to boil as the voice hit the critical points that he did not want to talk about. He balled up his fists as his nails dug into his skin.

"Hahahaha, I have a very simple solution for that. Let me innnnnn."
