Chapter 24 - Sunset

First Time.

The breeze was softly patting our bodies, the orange orb of the evening sun was glowing with so much zeal, as if something great would happen and end the day in style, I was holding her, the girl that crept out of my dreams, the one rib that had almost got lost in the confusion and anonymity of the crowds, she was placing her head on my shoulder, enjoying the scenery.

This has proven to be my wisest idea, bringing her along to this cliff, where we could see the end of the world down before us. A some kind of devine scenery, rocky with scanty vegetation save for the acacia spread all over the lowlands all the way to a massive lake, down below.

Sunset glowing above the waters of the lake making it glorious with the orange orb of the sun splashing over your face and a peaceful breeze slapping softly on your skin, the simple beauty making you heart melt into tears.

"I feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulder" she said sniffing into a tissue, she was draped on a scarf around her neck, gray jogging pants and Nike shoes. Still beautiful even when she cries.

"It's beautiful out here" Her lips finally let out the secret she had been withholding, they curved out the words, her voice deep and reverberating, I loved the way her voice did things to me, things I could not help, but let them take me where they wanted as long as it was with her. No problem.

She stood facing me, I turned her around and begged her to finish watching the sunset, she grumbled but obliged. I smiled at the win. Today was a win win situation for me. I hugged her from behind and placed my chin on her head, sniffing her hair and kissing it, a moan escaping my lips. I felt her shoulders vibrating and asked her, "what?" and she shrugged. Damn this girl will be the death of me. I'd give my life to have her all over again in the future and every second after that.

I wasn't looking anymore, I'd already found her. I forgot everything when I held her hand and only had her in my head. She was the most important person in my crooked life. She made me me.

I would die for her, she was my ultimate sin and I would gladly be damned for her. I want to stay with her like a trophy and tret her like my golden toy, no sharing.

My conscious sober just like magic, she's attracted to my every thought. She's my anaesthetic. I would show a middle finger to anyone who said she and I were wasting time and would never work, I'm pretty sure they are just jealous of us. She was my magic and I would rather keep chanting incantations for the rest of my life and not looking for any other woman, I already knew her motive and she knew mine.

Amore Mio.

Caught in the thrills of nature unfolding before our eyes, the sight was delightful, a natural sunset, breeze from the lake made you tell things you never thought you'd ever say to anyone.

Spill secrets. Tell thoughts you never shared with anyone else before, it was stripping your guard down.

"I hoped that one day you would watch the sunset with me, I didn't know that day is today. You know ever since I saw your face, my life took a turn and now I'm someone better. You gave my life purpose." I wasn't sure I wanted her to hear this, but I said it and looked into her eyes, cupped her face and placed a quick soft kiss on her lips. The words had a pervasive effect on her.

Just a thought, but she is probably wet from such sentimental approach.

Her face warmed up into a smile and said.

" Always be there for you, no matter what"This was a hard promise. I nodded and pressed her to my chest hugging her. She was all I need. I played Skylar Grey Everything You Are. The words sipped into our ears, she smiled against my lips when we kissed to the words of the song.

Alone is how I used to end up, but now she saved me. We savoured the walk from the cliff to the car after a few hours. A day well spent.

It was past seven when we walked back to the car. She drove us here.

I took the keys from her.I snaked my arm around her waist and pulled her close to me,where she should be.

I lifted her off the ground and placed her on the hood, she giggled and her legs slowly slid open and pulled me into her, standing between her legs my eyes were searching for her I wanted her to rest easy as I drove us home. Where we belong. Tonight we might as well order take-out.

Missing her came in waves, and tonight I'm drowning. She's is all I need.

Against The Current, Sweet Surrender was playing cooly in the background when I came to the sitting room from the kitchen with a sandwich, her form sprawling on the couch, hair in a messy bun on top of her head. But her baggy t-shirt looking immaculate on her.

Her eyes pulled me, I walked over to her and laced our fingers together, kissed the back of her hand and she plastered a smile on that pretty face. I felt butterflies burst inside. I felt her shrink and took both her hands for comfort.

"Let me love you" Words slid out of my lips before I could register in my head what I was saying. I was suddenly telling her things when,

Ding! Dong! Came the doorbell. I shot up and opened the door, takeout was ready. I tipped the skinny delivery guy with a bushy hair that looked like a bird's nest generously and slammed the door behind me with pizza in my hands, smiling broadly, I inhaled the sweet flavour and tasted it in my mouth without a bite.

She brought plates and placed them on the coffee table. She unboxed the pizza and shoved two pieces on her plate. I got the wine, I have no idea why but I did. Two glasses in tow. She winked knowingly and swatted at my arm when I grabbed her recklessly and slammed her to my chest.

I could almost taste her just by inhaling her in, it felt like magic. Once in a while I would shoot glares in her direction and I got kicked under the table where my legs were winding up her thighs. I'm not used to sitting composed, I couldn't keep myself from touching her.

She poured wine in her glass, sipped once, twice, put her glass down, sipped twice and I watched all this with hungry eyes. I swallowed hard.

She cleared the table and emptied her glass. I followed her the kitchen, hugged her again, it was unnecessary but I loved it. She giggled again. Something about that voice, she turned around, hooking her left arm around my neck and my breathing escalated a little, she felt my heart beat, staring deep into my eyes. Her finger trailing a line down from my chest to my abs, her hand lingered there.

I could see the want in her eyes, she tiptoed to kiss me, I bent a little allowing her access,it was supposed to be a small affectionate kiss but I was nearly knocked down with the sensation when our lips touched and hesitated to pull away, and her moans escaped her lips, she gasped and pushed me away gently.

I wanted more.

The cool night crept in, setting a mood. I spooned her and slowly we drifted off to sleep and bodies tangled at our feet, cuddling the peaceful night away.
