A month and a half has passed since Sui and I joined the pack. Sui and Sam are doing very well. With him she has really opened up. So is nothing like the shy little girl who was at the monastery. And just recently the completed the bonding ceremony. They are both happy and I'm glad.
I am the Luna's personal doctor. She won't let the other midwives near her. I have been reading everything I can on births, or broken bones, basically anything that has to do with the human body. I have been meditating and trying to expand my abilities. I try not to heal everyday issues that will fix themselves, I only use my abilities for the bad problems. I'm not sure, but I think I am getting stronger. At least I don't pass out anymore if I scan a person.
Then one day Joshua and I decided to have a picnic. Everything had been quiet so we went down by the water. We spent the day there talking and swimming and other things. It was a wonderful day but we had to get back to the pack. We were almost back to the community when I felt them. I tell Joshua there are people surrounding us, he wants me to show him. I show him what I know, they let us walk past them so they didn't give themselves away. There were about twenty-five of them out there. Joshua tells the Alpha, who in turn sets up the defensive end of things. He gets the women and children put in a safe place.
They are still about a quarter of a mile behind us, we pick up the pace making them think we just want sex. As soon as we get inside the gates they close them. Everything gets locked down. Joshua takes me to the church, then he gives me a kiss. I tell him to be careful and come back to me whole. He smiles kisses me again and goes to the Alpha. I walk inside, every wants to know what's going on. I tell the Luna and she shared it with everyone else. I check on everyone to make sure they are ok. Twenty minutes later we all hear the Alpha say," They are here. Be ready, we have trained for this. Don't let them near the women and children." All of the males respond with," Yes Alpha."
I reach out to Joshua for the first time since we have been here. I simply tell him I love him and be careful. Then I brake off contact so as not to disturb him.
For an hour we hear fighting outside, The Luna and I try to keep everyone calm. I can feel all of our people out there, some are hurt most are pissed. One man slipped passed the fighters, he breaks the door. He pushed his way in and grabbed one of the girls. He looks at her and tosses her aside. I push the Luna to the back of the room then walk forward. He grabbed Sandy who was holding Summer, she wasn't the one he wanted either so he pushed her down. Needless to say it pissed me off. I picked her up and moved her near the Luna. As I did that I felt a pain in my leg. Something inside me snapped the only thing I could think of was protecting the women and children. I want them safe and in a bubble. All the sudden the are separated from the Wolf. He slams up against an invisible barrier. Again I feel pain, I start getting pissed. I grab the Wolf and drag him outside, the women move forward with me but nobody can get to them. I walk out to the center of the fighting, all of the rogue wolves stop moving. Our pack stops fighting as well, but more out of confusion than anything else. I walk over to Joshua, he has two cuts on his leg and one is bleeding pretty bad. I touch him and he heals. Then one of the rogues who are on the ground wakes up, he decided to try and get at the women. But he comes up against the shield as well. I grab him as well. Now no one is moving. I turn to the Alpha," They are looking for a specific women, you can find out who or I can. But if they hurt anyone else I will hurt them."
The Alpha grabs the man on the ground by him and wants to know what's going on. The Alpha get pissed and hits him a few times. He refuses to say anything. Once again I step up, "Alpha I can find out without him saying anything. would you like to see?"
"Yes, I want to know why we were attacked."
I grab him by the hair, look into his eyes and say," Why" In his mind I see them being sent here by someone, they are after the Luna. They are supposed to do whatever they need to in order to get her. The Alpha sees all this. He gets pissed. Joshua sees everything as well, he comes to stand behind the Alpha. I look at Joshua, he gives me a strange look but says," we have a jail on the south side of the community we need to get them all over there. Will you move them all over there please?"
I take them all to where he shows me then we go to the Alpha and Luna's house. By then everyone is calm. We are all sitting there and the questions begin.
"Okay does anyone know who these people are? Why are they after my Luna? And how did you keep them from touching them?
"It was all I could think of to protect them. All I could think of was put them in a bubble. After her threw the one girl then pushed over Sandy and Summer I got pissed. Then I knew you were hurt and that really pissed me off. So I stopped things. As to why they are after the Luna I don't know. And they didn't know why they were to get her just that they had to. What's next?"
"Tomorrow we will talk to everyone and find out what the others can tell us. For now I say we start the clean up. oh and you young lady you need to get some rest. I hope no one ever pisses you off again."
"Why are you looking at me like that? What did I do? No one got hurt."
"Sweetheart when you get truly pissed your eyes turn red. When you were looking at people or things was there a pink tint? You know that is a wolf trait. "
"Excuse me what? So what your saying I am part wolf? How is that possible? Why wouldn't I know? How do you know? Um I need a few minutes here. I need to sleep. WOW! I will talk to you later."
I get up and walk out the door. I go back to the house and lay down.
