Chapter 16 - Will II

"That is?"

"Show me your will to survive." in all seriousness, Lewis stated.

Lawrence sat there, examining Lewis while processing what he had said. 'What does it mean to show my will? Rather, whichever does he signify? I don't understand. Will to survive?'

Lawrence was hesitant to answer Lewis's request, not because he did not want, but because he did not know what to respond. Since Lewis saw Lawrence's determined eyes, as if he was planning on escaping from captivity, he knew that he had eyes that thrive to survive.

"Sir Lewis, pardon my intrusion, but do you mean you want to see us train?" Gavin interrupted the sibling's thoughts.

Lewis smiled, "Yes, because I'm interested to see how this 'training' goes."

Lawrence's eyes widened at the sight of Lewis- who was scanning him. "What a creep," he whispered behind his breath, leasing a disgusted sneer.

"Pardon?" Lewis asked.

"Of course." he paused and motioned his chin up, facing Lewis with an immense intent. "Absolutely." he grinned devilishly. "It would be an honor," he added.

Lewis flinched, "Shit!" he cursed under his breath. "What's with this dangerous intent!" he mumbled.

"Did you say something, Lord Lewis?" Lawrence smiled.

"I- not at all!" Lewis jumped off from his seat. "Look at the time! I must hurry out now. I'll be meeting you guys then in the future..., good luck!" he hurriedly took his coat and left with his sword.

Gavin chuckled inwardly, "Well, that was better than I expected!" he said. "Shall we proceed to your sword, Lawrence?" he asked.

"I believe it's in the treasury room?"

Gavin shook his head, "It's in the Valuable Safe Room."

Lawrence stood from where he was at and readied himself to leave the room. "Then shall we take a tour?" he suggested.

"That'd be a good idea," Gavin thought. "It'd help you memorize the places here and train with ease. Then shall we, Lawrence?"

Lawrence smiled and nodded. The mansion consisted of multiple rooms with multiple purposes; Panic Room, Mud Room, Library, Clothes/Shoe Closet, Wine Cellar, Cellar, Storage Room, Attic, Theater Room, Keeping Room, Valuable Room, Safe Room, Training Cellar, Pantry Room, Grand Kitchen, Kitchen, Bedrooms, Guest Rooms, Dungeons, and many more. It was only ordinary to have such a massive space for all of these kinds of rooms.

Unlike the city hall, which consists of more businesses, they tend to have smaller places for living quarters. Often entrepreneurs live in the Business Buildings, making it their workplace and living quarters. Estates are a little far away from the main cities, which is why manors are as grand as everyone sees.

As Lawrence memorize the rooms, both of them reached the cellars, one of the rooms they looked into was the dungeons. The dungeon room, which stands at the bottom of the basement, had been examined by Lawrence. Just as a dungeon would look, it consisted of cobwebs and jail bars. Since slavery was a common thing for nobles, there was no doubt that they kept dungeons.

"Although most of your age would cry in agony just to see this creepy room, I'm surprised that you don't even flinch, Lawrence," Gavin said in the middle of touring the dungeon.

"I'm, but, a five-year-old kid who knows nothing. Don't you know I'm innocent?" Lawrence joked.

"I can talk to you like you are my colleague. You are mature, and you are wise in terms of choosing decisions. If you were the only one in this city who has this intelligence of someone great, I would be shocked. But since you aren't the only child who acts this way, I can sustain my interest and curiosity."

"You've piqued my interest. What did you mean I wasn't the 'only one'?" Lawrence asked.

"The prince and princess are at the same age as you. The prince is as good as you. He has accomplished feats that many individuals could not perceive. The princess is at her peak when it comes to business and ideas. Your siblings, I must say, are talented. But unlike you or the prince, and princess, they are still immature and lack experience."

"I'm not even done mentioning the geniuses yet. The rumored son of Duke Maximilian Blackwood is known to be a prodigy of marketing and enterprise. He is born a genius! The goes for the imperial princesses and princes. All of them seem to be perfect in every part of their body and brains. People like I, call this generation of prodigies. Why? The reason is simple = The world overflows with great prodigies in different parts of this world. I think there's a specific name for your generation, but I can't remember."

"I see. Thank you for all your explanations and information. It eases my mind to know that other kids like me have grown acquainted with adult teachings."

"But, even if you are prodigies, you still will have to imbue in learnings from universities. Aren't you excited?" Gavin asked.

"I would rather go adventure than force myself to learn from adults who know less." Lawrence straightforwardly answered.

"Harsh! Well, considering the granted marquess, you will no doubt be sent to the best academy in the whole continent." Gavin grinned.

"Considering me, I bet I'll just beg for my freedom." Lawrence casually stated.

"Beg?!" Gavin exclaimed.

"Let's continue. The valuable room is the last, I presume?" Lawrence changed the subject.

Gavin fidgeted his hands in impatience, as if hesitating to ask something, "Ah- Yes!" he replied.

They talked for the whole minutes before arriving at the valuables room. Lawrence felt excitement at the thought of finally having his sword. As soon as they both entered the room, the twelve histories were spotted. Inside their shiny book boxes with a fancy glass design. Although the boxes look frail, it isn't easy to break. Unless you are a grand sorcerer who can manage to dispel the chant laid on the boxes, there wouldn't be any other way to break into the box. If you rely on brute strength, you'll end up crushing what's inside.

Lawrence does not know this anyways, he knows only the fundamentals, and the sole existence of magic but has no idea how to utilize it. He was more indulged with swordsmanship because that's what he had lived off in his past life. He was entitled the Lone Grey Wolf, which meant that he alone was enough to destroy a whole battalion. Gray Lupos had an innate ability to have mana flow out of his sword.

He discovered this gift when facing an instructor he once adored. As if it was a natural flow in his movements to release mana into his sword, making him compatible and worthy of being called the rival of the notorious "Emperor Arthur."

Lawrence doze off in his trail of thoughts a little while Gavin returned with a sword covered in cloth. Gavin was excited for Lawrence because he was the person entrusted with buying the worthy sword for Lawrence. He chose the best sword, which costs more than an average noble could afford. This sword's value was ten degraded platinum-gold coins or four hundred total gold coins. Its name is...,
